Chapter 3793: The Ruffian Elders

Chapter 3793: The Ruffian Elders

The old man led him away while several curious disciples immediately followed.

At first there were only a handful, then more joined and soon a whole entourage was behind him. The crowd continued growing as nobody wanted to miss whatever happened next.

After all, the young man had already broken several assessment records so they thought that perhaps he would break another. As it turned out, they were absolutely right.

The moment Little Bull entered the mess hall, disaster struck.

The cooks initially welcomed Elder He Jian respectfully. Then they saw the giant youth following behind him. Then they watched him eat. Then their expressions gradually transformed from curiosity into horror.

Plates disappeared, bowls vanished, skewers were stripped, bones were discarded and entire baskets of spirit grain buns ceased to exist. A disciple standing nearby slowly counted. Then counted again before giving up entirely.

Little Bull simply ate too quickly.

Half an hour later, the entire mess hall had become silent as everyone was staring. Even the cooks had stopped working. Little Bull swallowed another bowl of spirit rice before looking up. "Do you have more?"

One cook nearly dropped his tray while the disciples surrounding him looked utterly stunned. A servant whispered to another. "How much has he eaten?"

"I stopped counting after the eighty-third bowl."

The first servant blinked. "Eighty-three?"

"I think."

Little Bull tilted his head. "Can I have more grilled and roast meat too?"

The head cook stared blankly. "...Bring him meat."

A mountain of roasted beast meat soon arrived and then it vanished. Several disciples were beginning to suspect that Little Bull might actually be a disguised spirit beast. The rumors started spreading almost immediately.

By sunset, half the Central Division had already heard stories about the recruit who could punch immortals and devour entire kitchens. Unfortunately, while Little Bull was peacefully enjoying his meal, absolute chaos had erupted elsewhere.

Specifically, among the elders.

The meeting hall designated for discussing assessment results had completely devolved. At first, it was civilized as everyone spoke respectfully and acted professionally. All that only lasted for approximately five minutes.

Then the arguments started.

"He clearly belongs in the Body Refinement Division."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"He literally defeated immortal beasts with his fists."

"That doesn’t mean he belongs to your division."

"It means exactly that!"

One elder slammed the table, and it survived only because it was reinforced by formations.

"He needs proper guidance."

"Which is why he should come to us."

The speaker belonged to the Beast Division, and everyone immediately turned toward him.

The room became silent.

"You?" another elder asked. "Why you?"

The Beast Division elder straightened proudly.

"He communicates exceptionally well with animals."

The room stared at him.

"When did you observe that?"

"He called the antelope a big deer."

Silence.

Several elders looked utterly baffled.

"That’s your argument?"

"Yes."

"That’s a terrible argument."

The Beast Division elder snorted.

"It is better than yours."

A sword elder immediately stood.

"He should join the Sword Division."

Everyone stared at him too.

The body cultivation elders looked ready to explode.

"WHY?"

The sword elder stroked his beard.

"He possesses determination."

The room groaned.

"What does that have to do with swords?"

"Swords require determination."

"He kicked a beast through the eye!"

"His spirit resembles a sword."

"No it doesn’t!"

The arguments escalated rapidly.

Then the Alchemy Division joined.

Then the Formation Division.

Then the Beast Division again.

Then the Healing Division.

One healer elder actually stood up and declared with complete seriousness.

"He belongs with us."

Everyone looked at him like he had lost his mind.

"Healers?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

The elder nodded solemnly.

"He gets injured often."

Several people nearly choked while one body cultivation elder pointed angrily. "He wasn’t injured at all!"

"Exactly. Imagine how healthy he’ll become under our guidance."

The room erupted into shouting and at some point, someone accused another elder of only wanting Little Bull because he wanted to show off during elder gatherings. The accused elder immediately challenged him to a duel.

Someone else claimed Little Bull’s appetite clearly indicated talent in alchemy because he consumed resources efficiently. That nearly started another duel as the arguments continued worsening.

Voices rose, tables shook, spiritual pressure leaked, auras flared, spittle flew, and finally, one elder snapped.

"No!"

BAM!

A fist struck another elder’s shoulder. The hit wasn’t serious, as it wasn’t intended to be. But it crossed a line, as the room became silent and everyone stared.

The elder, who had been punched, slowly turned. "You hit me."

"You deserved it."

A second later he punched back. And then... everything descended into madness. Spiritual techniques were forbidden indoors, but that didn’t stop anyone. Instead, the elders resorted to the most primitive method possible.

They started fighting as chairs flew, tables overturned, teeth cracked, beards were pulled, eyebrows were ripped off, robes were torn, and several elders rolled across the floor.

One body cultivation elder grabbed two opponents and slammed their heads together. A formation elder retaliated by throwing an entire jade chair. A sword elder attempted to maintain dignity before getting tackled from behind.

The scene resembled a tavern brawl full of ruffians far more than a gathering of respected sect elders.

Outside the hall, several disciples listened to the commotion.

One disciple blinked. "Are they... fighting?"

Another nodded. "I think so."

"Should we stop them?"

A third disciple immediately shook his head. "Absolutely not."

Inside the hall, chaos continued.

"HE’S JOINING MY DIVISION!"

"OVER MY DEAD BODY!"

"I CALLED HIM FIRST!"

"THAT’S NOT HOW THIS WORKS!"

"HE LOOKED AT ME DURING THE ASSESSMENT!"

"HE LOOKED AT EVERYONE!"

Meanwhile, Elder He Jian sat quietly in the mess hall, watching Little Bull devour another mountain of food. The old man had absolutely no idea that behind him, half the elder council was currently trying to beat each other unconscious over the right to recruit his newest discovery.

Or perhaps he did know.

Because after hearing distant explosions echoing from somewhere across the division, the old man merely sighed and muttered to himself. "They’ve probably started fighting already."

Little Bull looked up. "Who?"

"The elders."

"Why?"

Elder He Jian rubbed his forehead.

Then he looked at the innocent young man currently eating enough food to feed an entire village. "Because of you."

Little Bull blinked.

Then he swallowed another mouthful of meat. "Oh."

A few seconds later, he raised his hand. "Elder."

"Yes?"

"Can I have more food?"

Elder He Jian closed his eyes and laughed because the old man already knew, tomorrow’s ranking announcement was going to be an absolute disaster.
