Chapter 3535: From Interest To Greed

Chapter 3535: From Interest To Greed

The twins continued to flee, but the man finally stopped trying to catch them directly.

His hand plunged into his storage tool.

"Earth Sealing Mystic Urn!"

A small but exquisitely crafted urn flew into the air, runes lighting up across its surface. The moment it stabilized, the forest floor trembled.

SHUAG

A terrifying suction force erupted.

The air twisted violently as the twins felt their bodies lurch backward. The surrounding air hardened unnaturally, turning into invisible restraints that clamped onto their movement.

Xiao Yin hissed sharply as her body stiffened. "Yang!"

Xiao Yang snarled, scales flaring as he poured more power into his body. Yin and Yang Qi surged simultaneously, colliding and harmonizing within them.

CRACK!

The invisible restraints shattered like glass.

The suction force weakened just enough for the twins to wrench themselves free and shoot away again, crashing through the canopy.

The young man’s eyes widened.

"...They broke it?"

Anger twisted his expression. "Damn beasts!"

Before he could act again, two figures stepped forward.

One wore robes of pale stone hues, embroidered with sigils of authority. The other was clad in deep green and gold, vines and leaves stitched into his sleeves.

The prince of the Alabaster Plains Kingdom and the prince of the Olive Canopy Kingdom.

They smiled.

"Seems our future brother-in-law needs help," the Alabaster prince said lightly.

"Let’s not keep him waiting," the Olive prince replied.

They acted together.

The earth beneath the twins erupted as massive stone pillars burst upward, jagged spikes forming cages meant to trap and impale. At the same time, the trees themselves came alive. Vines as thick as arms shot out, twisting and snapping with unnatural speed, attempting to bind the twins mid-flight.

The Golden Urn disciple attacked again, activating his urn to suppress movement.

Three restraining forces layered atop one another.

Xiao Yin and Xiao Yang were forced to release more power.

A surge of Yin Qi flooded the forest, chilling the air, while Yang Qi followed, burning hot enough to make the moisture evaporate in hissing clouds.

The earth pillars shattered.

The vines withered and snapped.

The urn’s glow flickered violently.

The youths froze.

"...Pure Yin and Yang Qi?" someone whispered.

The woman who had first admired the twins clasped her hands together, eyes shining.

"Incredible," she breathed. "Snakes that can wield Yin and Yang so purely... I’ve never seen anything like this."

Her smile widened.

"I want them even more now."

The others felt the same.

Their gazes sharpened, greed burning hotter than caution.

Xiao Yang and Xiao Yin finally stopped running.

HISSS!!!

They turned together, hissing loudly as their auras exploded outward.

HUALA

Fourth Tribulation Stage Immortal Realm.

The forest trembled under the pressure.

Several cultivators staggered backward, faces paling.

"...Fourth stage?" the Alabaster prince muttered.

"But they’re beasts," another youth said weakly.

Fear flickered, but greed smothered it.

"They’re valuable," someone said hoarsely. "Extremely valuable."

"GUARDS!" Someone shouted.

More figures arrived. They had already heard the commotion and were on their way. The call of their masters was enough to make them speed up to the maximum.

Royal guards.

Sect enforcers.

Personal retainers.

The circle tightened.

The Boundless River Sect’s female core disciples finally stepped forward, water Qi flowing around them. They had been reluctant before, but now their expressions were cold and calculating.

"Such beasts," one of them said calmly. "Their materials alone would be priceless."

"The Yin Snake’s scaled hide would be great for a scarf." Another one said.

The chase turned into a siege.

For half an hour, the twins fought and fled, striking only to disable, never to kill. They shattered techniques, slipped through formations, and broke encirclements again and again.

But numbers mattered.

The forest floor was scarred. Trees lay broken. The air was thick with clashing Qi.

Finally, they were cornered.

Hundreds surrounded them in a wide ring, techniques already forming in the air.

Xiao Yin and Xiao Yang looked at each other.

Their playful expressions were gone.

This was no longer a game.

Xiao Yang exhaled slowly. "We tried."

Xiao Yin nodded once. "We did."

"Master won’t blame us now." They said in unison.

They reached into their storage gems.

SHUA.

A flash of blinding white light erupted as a massive crystalline axe manifested in Xiao Yang’s grasp. Its blade gleamed with terrifying sharpness, air itself seeming to distort around its edge.

Flash Cleave Axe.

SHA SHA SHA.

Xiao Yin’s weapon appeared next. A long black whip split into three segments, each ending in a cruel, spiked tip that radiated cold, oppressive intent.

Demon Punishing Spine Lash.

Peak Immortal Grade weapons!

The forest fell silent.

Faces drained of color.

"...Peak grade," someone whispered.

"How... how do beasts have weapons like that?"

Greed surged like wildfire.

If they could capture them before they were killed...

No one thought about consequences.

Peak Grade Immortal Weapons were always sought after and even among the major sects and the three kingdoms they were incredibly rare. Each power barely had one or two of them.

It was said that among the Major powers, only the Ten Wings Martial Sect had three Peak Grade Immortal Weapons and it was one of the reasons they were considered the strongest sect among them.

Witnessing such legendary weapons appear in the grasp of mere beasts, the interest in the eyes of the youngsters turned into utter greed.

Everyone of them imagined the same thing... What if they obtained one of the weapons?

Won’t their future be secured? Won’t they become one of the peaks of the world too?

With such burning desires in their heart, there was no way they would stop now. They chased after the twins, ordering their respective groups of cultivators to attack. Of course the twins weren’t going to hold back now.

The twins had been through far worse enemies. Compared to the armies of hollows, swarms of chimeric beasts and many other experts, these youngsters and their armies were mere insects to be killed.

But far away, Lin Mu’s heart clenched.

And the Sword Cradle Divine Sheath rang, sharp and furious.
