Chapter 3454: Bonding Over Torn Clothes

Chapter 3454: Bonding Over Torn Clothes

"Dragon Pearl," the attendant said reverently. "From a Flood Dragon that was one step away from becoming a True Dragon."

Lin Mu felt his heart stir.

He could feel the Dao inside it. Flow. Change. Pressure. Depth.

"How much?" Lin Mu asked.

The attendant named a number that made even Daoist Chu whistle softly.

Lin Mu did not hesitate.

He paid.

When the Dragon Pearl entered his storage ring, Lin Mu felt his water core throb in excitement, as if it already sensed what was coming.

"This alone could push many to a crazy comprehension of the Water Dao," Daoist Chu said thinking that Lin Mu wanted it to comprehend the Water Dao.

"Not just completion," Lin Mu replied. "It may refine it."

Cattaleya glanced at it. "Looks tasty."

"No," Lin Mu said firmly.

She pouted.

With their points spent and riches secured, they returned to rest and prepare for the banquet.

But Lin Mu did not rest long.

He sat cross legged in his room, Dragon Pearl floating before him.

He did not absorb it yet.

He simply observed.

Its inner Dao was deep. Wild. Ancient.

"This will not be easy," he murmured.

But his eyes shone with anticipation.

Deep in his body, his water core pulsed, just one step away from becoming whole.

And Lin Mu knew.

The real changes had only just begun.

Knock~

Soon enough, a soft knock was heard at Lin Mu’s door.

"Master, it is time," Meng Bai called from outside.

Lin Mu opened his eyes and exhaled slowly, letting the faint ripples of Dao around him settle. He rose from his seat and opened the door.

Meng Bai was already dressed neatly, wearing a long blue robe embroidered with silver wave patterns. The fabric shimmered faintly under light, clearly not ordinary cloth but woven from immortal silk mixed with fine Aqua Jade threads. It suited his Water Dao perfectly.

"You look ready," Lin Mu said.

Meng Bai smiled a little shyly. "Dongxu Clan helped prepare this. They said it would look bad if I went dressed like I was heading to spar."

Lin Mu chuckled and followed him out.

They entered the main hall of their courtyard where everyone else was waiting.

Daoist Chu was already there, dressed in layered white and jade green robes.

The inner robe was simple and clean, but the outer robe was finely embroidered with cloud patterns and thin golden lines that formed subtle formation arrays. His belt was made of pale jade plates linked by golden threads woven into chords, and a small formation disk hung at his waist like an ornament.

Elyon stood near the window, adjusting his sleeves.

He wore dark gray robes trimmed with silver at the edges. The cut was sharp and practical, with narrow sleeves and flexible fabric that allowed easy movement. His boots were made from shadow beast leather, soft but incredibly tough, and his collar bore the faint emblem of his wolfkin lineage, barely visible unless one looked carefully.

Cattaleya sat on a chair with her boots resting on the table, chewing on a piece of dried meat.

She was still wearing her usual outfit. Tight dark leather pants, thick boots reinforced with metal at the toes and heels, and a sleeveless vest that showed her toned arms and shoulders. The leather looked worn and plain, but now everyone was used to it.

Daoist Chu looked at Lin Mu and coughed lightly. "Are you truly going to attend the grand banquet dressed like that?"

Lin Mu looked down at himself.

He was wearing his usual black training robe, simple and practical, with only faint traces of reinforcement arrays woven into it. It was good for cultivation and battle, but it looked painfully plain next to everyone else.

"Ah," Lin Mu said. "Almost forgot."

He focused his will.

The Silver Mirage Circlet around his head shimmered faintly, releasing soft silver light that flowed down over his body like liquid silk.

In a single breath, his clothes transformed.

His simple robe became a set of black and gold brocade robes. The inner layer was deep black, smooth like still water at night. The outer robe was trimmed with gold thread that formed vast patterns of mountains, rivers, plains, oceans and clouds. These were not random decorations.

They were the same landforms that appeared on his body when he activated the Burdenless Dominator Physique.

The sleeves were wide and flowing, but their edges were reinforced with invisible arrays so they would not tear easily. These were new modifications that Lin Mu had managed to the Silver Mirage Circlet.

It could now create not only illusory clothes, but even some formations. Of course, they could only be created and maintained due to Lin Mu being highly proficient with Arrays now.

His belt on the other hand, was formed of dark gold plates shaped like overlapping mountain peaks, linked by threads of Immortal metal. Even his boots changed into black boots with gold lines that resembled flowing rivers.

Meng Bai’s eyes widened. "Master... is that a new design?"

Lin Mu nodded. "Just made it."

Cattaleya whistled loudly. "That circlet of yours is cheating."

Lin Mu laughed. "I got tired of my clothes ripping apart every time I fight."

Cattaleya crossed her arms in deep agreement. "Tell me about it."

She then leaned forward. "Can you make one for me too?"

Meng Bai blinked. "Can’t you just buy one from the market?"

Cattaleya snorted. "Those would explode on me the moment I punch someone."

Elyon nodded. "With how often you headbutt people, even high grade immortal Steel would cry."

Lin Mu laughed. "I will make you one with some tough materials."

Cattaleya slapped him on the back hard enough to make Meng Bai flinch. "Good. I want one that survives me."

Then she looked at him up and down. "Your turn. You all dressed fancy. What about me? You think I should change?"

She gestured at her leather outfit.

Meng Bai hesitated. "Senior Cattaleya... maybe... something more banquet like?"

Cattaleya raised a brow. "All my normal clothes tear. These do not."
