Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3297: Jumping Through Worlds

Chapter 3297: Jumping Through Worlds

Cattaleya continued, "I do know of one clan of Great Mountain Dwarfs. But they live in the Celestial Realm. And unless you intend to break through to the Celestial realm right away somehow, going there is not an option right now."

Lin Mu sighed. "I thought so."

Just when the air grew a little heavy, Elyon lifted his head from the stack of documents.

"There is a clue," Elyon said.

Lin Mu looked at him with sudden interest. "A clue?"

Elyon nodded. "One of the worlds along our route. The same world where one of the mercenary missions I mentioned is located. There are some scattered dwarfs living there."

His words brought a spark of hope.

"They are not a proper clan," Elyon clarified. "Just independent dwarfs who live there. But it might be a good place to start. If they know anything about Mountain or Fireforge Dwarfs, they might tell us."

Lin Mu felt determination rise within him again.

"Then we will head there," Lin Mu said. "We can take on the mission and search for dwarfs at the same time."

Daoist Chu nodded. "That would be the most efficient approach."

Cattaleya grinned. "Sounds fun. I like missions with multiple goals."

Elyon smirked lightly. "Good. Then I will prepare the documents and intelligence for the mission once we reach the next world."

Lin Mu looked at them all with gratitude.

They were all ready to move forward.

And so was he.

Even if he did not yet know where the true path lay, every step forward brought him closer to the answers he sought.

And somewhere out there...

In the vast expanse of the Eastern Immortal Court’s territories...

The dwarfs awaited.

Whether hidden in mountains of stone or beneath forges of eternal flame...

Lin Mu would find them.

One way or another.

After another couple of days of continuous travel through the Teleportation Channel, Lin Mu and his group finally reached their next destination.

The weightless sensation faded gradually as they reappeared within the confines of a grand building. The floor beneath their feet shimmered faintly with spatial runes, fading as the array deactivated.

The air was warm, almost salty.

Lin Mu looked around. The architecture here was markedly different from the previous worlds they had passed through. The hall was tall and circular, its walls engraved with flowing motifs of waves, shells, and serpentine sea beasts. Everything shimmered in hues of blue and silver, reflecting the light pouring in through the open balcony.

For a brief moment, everyone simply stood still, taking in the feeling of being somewhere new.

"We will not stay long here," Elyon said after a moment. "The next array should be ready by tomorrow. We will use this as a resting point."

Lin Mu nodded. The teleportation hall they stood in served as one of the many relay hubs between worlds, a stopover where travelers could rest, resupply, and wait for the next scheduled array activation.

The group spent the next day quietly. Cattaleya busied herself with sharpening her weapons and doing more training, while Daoist Chu refined a new formation talisman for their use. Meng Bai and Lin Mu took the opportunity to go around and buy some local ingredients in bulk for future.

When the day was over, they once again gathered within the circular hall. The array beneath them began to glow, forming a dense pattern of runes and geometric lines.

"Next stop," Elyon said with a faint smile, "is one step closer to the Nine Seas World."

The light flared.

SHUA.

The world around them vanished in a rush of brilliance.

For another week, they drifted within the teleportation channel, traveling through the endless void between worlds. To pass the time, Lin Mu discussed formations with Daoist Chu, occasionally practicing simple movement sequences in the mobile courtyard. Elyon read through mission archives, and Cattaleya often teased Meng Bai about his constant study habits.

The week passed smoothly.

Three more times, they exited into new worlds, spent a short while in each, and re-entered another teleportation channel. World after world blurred together, until finally, on the fourth transition, they arrived at their true destination.

The Nine Seas World.

As soon as the light of teleportation faded, they were greeted by a deep, rhythmic hum. It was the sound of waves crashing somewhere far below. A fresh oceanic scent filled the air, mingled with a faint trace of salt and moss.

Lin Mu blinked as he adjusted to the brightness.

They were standing inside a tall tower made of smooth white coral stone. Its interior glowed with blue light, emanating from veins of immortal stones embedded within the walls. When they stepped out onto the open balcony, the view nearly stole their breath away.

Before them stretched an endless ocean.

The horizon seemed to shimmer under the sun’s rays, the sky painted in gradients of silver and turquoise. Giant aquatic beasts breached the waves in the distance, their massive fins glistening as they crashed back into the sea. Above them, bird-like creatures with finned wings glided through the air, swooping down to snatch fish from the water’s surface.

Meng Bai exhaled in awe. "This place... it’s beautiful," he said softly.

"Indeed," Daoist Chu agreed, his eyes scanning the view with appreciation. "A world of water and islands. I have read of this world, but seeing it is something else."

From the side of the balcony, a long spiral staircase wound its way down toward the city below. The group began descending together, each taking in the scenery.

As they walked, Lin Mu turned to Elyon. "What exactly is the mission we have here? You said it was an escort mission."

Elyon nodded. "Yes. We are to escort a local clan to their ancestral island for worship."

"That seems simple enough," Lin Mu remarked. "Why would they need mercenaries for something like that? Surely locals could handle it."

Elyon gave a wry smile. "If only it were that simple. The Nine Seas World is not like other worlds. Its geography is constantly shifting. It is divided into nine massive seas, all connected, forming a global ocean. Only a small fraction of the surface is land, and most of it consists of islands scattered across the seas."
