Chapter 1952 A Plan to Turn the Hive Against Its God
1952 A Plan to Turn the Hive Against Its God
'Haah! This madman and his hubris. It'll be the death of him.'
Azurea looked down on Eren in her heart after realizing that he had decided to adopt a wait-and-watch approach at such a crucial time—right when Shir was about to contact God Raashim.
No matter what kind of plans he had, if Eren truly believed he could win a fight against an Immortal or withstand divine might, he was gravely mistaken.
Even though he had touched upon the divine, he was still only a demigod. Compared to an Immortal, he was still a frog in the well.
Azurea didn't want to underestimate Eren. She had also concluded that there was no trick involved when he fought against her elder sister and won.
However, confronting an Immortal at his home base was complete foolishness. Even her Calamity Rank Dragon father would not dare to do something like that.
This only reinforced Azurea's belief that she shouldn't ally with such an unreliable man. How could he possibly keep Baga Island safe from the impending turmoil if he was this nonchalant?
First of all, could he even deal with Shir if the latter managed to establish a connection with God Raashim and receive divine aid? He might just sign a death warrant for himself as well as for his entire army if he kept on pretending to act cool and mighty.
'I don't think he is bluffing, but—'
Marina, on the other hand, was deeply concerned for Eren. Although she was fairly certain he wouldn't make foolish mistakes—having observed his calculated moves since the start of the ritual—she still felt he was underestimating God Raashim.
No matter how limited an Immortal's powers were in a mortal world, he was still an Immortal. And an Immortal was, technically speaking, even greater than an SSS-Rank entity.
By utilizing the resources of Labh Salem's seas, she and Eren could come up with a temporary solution to deal with the Calamity-Rank Dragon that would soon descend upon them. But if he were to act reckless at this point, her own plans of gaining freedom from her father's clutches might go up in smoke.

As such, she had to intervene.
For Eren to even stand a chance against her father, he first needed to take full control of Baga Island—at least for a while.

"Eren, I think you should listen to that sha—... I mean, I think you should listen to your brother," Marina took a deep breath and spoke carefully.
"If you're worried about something and need backup, I… I can help you." Marine spoke with conviction. "I'm not sure about my sister, but I'm willing to work with you to take control of Labh Salem's seas. As for the resource distribution in exchange for our help, we can discuss that later." Her voice was calm but firm.
"Sister… no… what are you saying?" Azurea spoke in frustration.
"I… I don't want to work with this mad—" She bit her tongue and glanced at Eren.
The azure dragoness could already guess what Eren would call her next if she continued insulting him.
As sharp as she was with words, there were certain names she detested being called. And given Eren's vindictive nature, it was better not to give him an opportunity to strike back.
"Anyway, sister, I don't want to work with him. Why not take a wait-and-watch approach?" Azurea suggested with a smirk.
"If that guy Shir is busy contacting his boss, I'm sure he'll receive powerful aid. Even though Eren's side is strong right now, there's no guarantee he'll win this fight." She spoke dismissively, not caring whether Eren could hear her or not.
"That's not the point here," Marina said, shaking her head.
"Do you really think Shir will honor our previous agreement if we sit on the sidelines at this point?" She glanced at her sister.
"Besides, in situations like this, choosing a side is better than staying neutral. Remaining a mere spectator would only attract the wrath of both sides while offering us no benefits in the end." She then shifted her gaze toward Eren.
Eren smiled at Marina's words but remained silent. He was mildly surprised to see that the elder dragoness wasn't just an elder sister in name—she could indeed think more maturely than her naive sibling, who was still wet behind her draconic ears.
"But sister—" Azurea started, wanting to persuade Marina against helping Eren. However, Eren wasn't about to let her do that so easily. He spoke before she could even finish her sentence.
"Looks like my little lizard is underestimating me too much," Eren chuckled as he looked up toward the location of Baga Island.
"So what if that demigod is trying to call his master for help? It's not like I haven't offended the gods before. In fact, I want them to establish a connection here so that God Raashim can see what I'm doing with his own eyes," he said, narrowing his gaze as if he could already see what was happening on the island from where he stood.
"You want God Raashim to witness the current state of Baga Island?" Marina was taken aback. "Why?"
"It's simple, really," Eren replied. "I want him to do everything in his power to stop me from taking his 'faith farmland' here. That way, when he fails, his followers will lose their faith in him," he said in a serious tone.
Marina's eyes widened in realization. Eren wasn't just planning to take control of Baga Island—he was also targeting the minds of God Raashim's followers. He was already thinking about how to convert their faith and make them worship him instead.
After all, even if he managed to eliminate Shir and his core subordinates, he couldn't simply wipe out the millions of followers on Baga Island.
Who would carry out the work needed to maintain his rule if he slaughtered all the "worker bees"?
