Chapter 1067 - Missile Alteration
The Thunder Horse workshop was quiet in the night.
Four split-force air-to-air missiles were placed on the workbench. On another end was a bigger fella, the famous Eagle Claw anti-ship missiles in China. Now that the Thunder Horse Organization had set foot in the air force, the production of drones was no longer an issue. The only problem present would be their lack of air combat ammunition. To research and produce their own ammunition was a must but Xia Lei still hadn’t had the time to do so. The risk of a war on the southern waters had intensified to a considerable extent and he was set to mobilize himself over in due time. Hence, the fastest way around this was to alter their current missiles and adapt them to the Phantom’s battle system.
Annina and Sylvia were also present in the same workshop providing assistance to alter the split-force air-to-air missiles and the Eagle Claw.
Clad in their navy overalls, the German mechanics’ tall stature and alluring curves was a sight to behold.
Their presence was not a hindrance to Xia Lei’s productivity. On the contrary, they had helped boost his speed tremendously.
“Lukas, I still can’t believe that you’re trying to get this into your Phantom drone,” said Sylvia as she measured the outer shell of the Eagle Claw.
“Slyvia, there is nothing impossible with Lukas around.” Annina, busy with preparing the Alloy X materials, chimed in. “Have you forgotten all about the miracles he had created? I certainly have lost count.”
“But this is an anti-ship missile.” Sylvia turned to face her. “It won’t be a problem for Phantom to carry a few air-to-air or air-to-surface missiles. But anti-ship missiles are different. Till this day, I have not seen any country capable of that. Germany hasn’t done it and America hasn’t done it either. This wish is basically impossible on technical terms. Success would mean that a normal fighter jet possesses the possibility of becoming a fleet chaser and destroyer.”
Xia Lei smiled. “People did not think it was possible for humans to fly, but don’t we have planes now? There is nothing impossible in this world, it is just a matter of feasibility and approach. As long as the plan is feasible and you have the right resources, everything is possible.”
“Are you sure?” Sylvia cast an odd look at Xia Lei.
Xia Lei nodded. “Of course. Just continue watching, I’ll manage to fit the Eagle Claw on my Phantom drone.”
“Jeez, you’re so strong but why aren’t our stomachs big at this point?” said Sylvia.
Xia Lei was immediately stunned and silent.
“Yeah. I find it weird too, Lukas. You’re able to impregnate your wives but why not us?” Annina too shared equal confusion.
Xia Lei scratched his numb scalp. “I have no idea. Could the problem be you instead?”
“Us? I think not. Annina and I have been to the hospital for check-ups, the doctor said we’re healthy and normal,” replied Sylvia.
Xia Lei felt dread brewing in his gut. “What’s with you two? You can’t be thinking about becoming mothers?”
“You don’t like mix-blood babies?” Sylvia questioned instead.
This wasn’t a matter of his personal preferences, this was a question that shouldn’t even be asked. If his wives at home had learnt of the German mechanics’ intention, they’d desperately try to chase Annina and Sylvia out of the picture.
“Haha!” Abrupt laughter rolled out of Sylvia’s throat. “Oh, you should see your own face! Lukas, it’s just a joke. We have no plans to be mothers this young. We’re loaded and we haven’t even gotten a chance to play to our hearts yet.”
“Yeah, we wish to enjoy the world.” Annina too was smirking. “Actually, we’re on pills. Otherwise, you would’ve knocked us up long ago.”
Ah. So it was just a joke.
“Damn you. How could you joke with me at a time like this.” Xia Lei feigned anger. “Go back to work! Sylvia, refine the Alloy X into artillery shells after you’re done with the measurements.”
“On it, my king.” Sylvia giggled.
Xia Lei raised a palm and slapped it hard against her bottom.
“Ow! What was that for?!” Sylvia winced pitifully.
“You asked for it. I’ll spank you until you’re swollen if you misbehave again!” Xia Lei threatened emptily with a pretend fierceness.
Sylvia had nothing to say in defence.
Then, Xia Lei turned to Annina. “Annina, you’re in charge of cutting the materials and taking apart all four of the split-force air-to-air missiles.”
“Understood, king.”
“Lukas, why was she not spanked?” questioned Sylvia.
And so Xia Lei did, waving his arm over towards Annina’s ass.
“Hahaha…” Annina chortled happily but was immediately cut off by dropping the wrench in her grip onto her calf. “Fuck!”
“Hahaha!” It was Sylvia’s turn to laugh.
This was how work was like for Xia Lei and the German mechanics in the past three months. Each day no different from another.
Ending their flirtatious banter, the mechanics reflected the rigorous German work ethic perfectly.
Xia Lei too had calmed down. The man was responsible for the most important part. The ‘brain’ and the ‘heart’ of the missile.
A missile would consist of four parts. The propulsion system, the guidance system, the warhead and the body. Sylvia and Annina were responsible for the missile body while Xia Lei was in charge with its propulsion system and guidance system. To call those parts the ‘brain’ and ‘heart’ was certainly not an exaggeration.
The alteration plan for the missile was surprisingly simple. Firstly, they would remake the artillery shells with Alloy X. With the invisibility offered by Alloy X, the shells would go undetected. As soon as the shells make it into the visible range, it would be too late to dodge it. Take the split-force air-to-air missiles as an example. With a speed of Mach 4, its overload was 38G. Its inevitable range would be thirty-five to forty kilometres in front of a carrier. Its enemy wouldn’t escape unscathed. One simple reason for that was because no fighter can outrun a missile and no fighter had possessed the mobility that rivalled a missile. Under that situation, the locked target would most definitely be set ablaze.
Despite that, real-life confrontations like that were literally impossible. Modern wars were typically fought beyond visual range. Fighters would be spotted hundreds of kilometres away while the air-to-air missiles only have a shooting range of a few tens of one hundred kilometres. This was why the inevitable ranges of air-to-air missiles only existed as numerical data. It had no chance of becoming reality in a battle.
However, if the aircraft carried air-to-air missiles that had absolute invisibility, it would most definitely be able to take out the world’s most advanced F35 fighter!
Theoretically, once Thunder Horse’s Phantom enters the battlefield, it would be completely off the radar. It would be able to destroy an F35 without a doubt!
That was not even the most terrifying thing. Once the Phantom was capable of carrying the Eagle Claw anti-ship missiles, it would be able to hover over the American fleets and place them in an absolute predicament!
Xia Lei’s left and right eyes set to work. In his field of vision, the Eagle Claw was turned into data and independent component images. All this information was presented to his brain, allowing him to regroup and splice things together effortlessly. They eliminated the unusable parts and optimised it, driving the bad parts to excellency.
The new perspective was coupled with the superbrain mode. This was the first time Xia Lei had coordinated all three modes at once, which was undeniably a brand new experience. All problems were granted solutions, regardless of what it was. No matter how complicated the construct was, three-dimensional images were produced in a very short span of time. With this new mode, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to say that building a space shuttle was impossible!
All obstacles met with the Eagle Claw anti-ship missiles were overcome under an hour. The modification plan birthed inside Xia Lei’s brain was terrifyingly refined and accurate to the exact dimensions of its screw!
