This Earth Is A Bit Fearsome

Chapter 778 - Enough Power to Level a Sect, Reappearance of the Sacred Ancestor

Chapter 778: Enough Power to Level a Sect, Reappearance of the Sacred Ancestor

The battlefield extended from the central parts of the continent all the way to the central gates of the Immemorial Path in the north.

The base of the Immemorial Path was vast and magnificent, but all of the barriers put in place were activated. That made it look like they were defending against someone. Over a million elite troops of the sect and countless fighters of the Divine Blood Church had escaped inside the sect. Once they were safe, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The central gates were the sect’s last line of defense. That place was just as significant for them as the great altar of the Divine Blood Church.

“What’s the use of hiding in your shell?”

That young man who claimed to be a god never gave them any chance to rest, flying up to the top of the central gates of the sect.

Countless beams of energy were seen instantly bursting out and shooting at that young man like they were about to shroud the skies.

A massive fortress of war gradually emerged from the central gates. That was a true fortress of war that had been tempered by the members of the sect for countless years, with countless war machines installed within.

Despite being of a civilization based on cultivation, war worked all the same for those in that world. Cannons radiating with a terrifying, sinister-looking spiritual power were deployed from that fortress.

Every shot from the cannons packed enough power to level mountains.

There were at least hundreds of these cannons in that fortress of war.

Along with the spiritual power cannons that were readily installed in the central gates itself and all the other kinds of offensive formations put in place, the attacks that were unleashed from all of those defenses truly looked as if a tsunami was washing all over the place.

That was why the members of the sect had always been so confident of their base. Even if several fighters who were at the peak of Divine Transformation Realm invaded the place, the fortress’s ability to deploy such attacks didn’t matter at all.

It didn’t matter how powerful the fighters were; they could only be as powerful as their current levels deemed them to be.

None of them would be able to take on attacks of such a scale. Even three to five cultivators at the peak of the Divine Transformation Realm would fall to those attacks all the same.

That was why the sect, despite having been through times where they were no fighters at the peak of Divine Transformation Realm emerging among them, would still be able to pull through without problems.

That fortress alone was more than enough to kill a fighter at the peak of the Divine Transformation Realm.

The fortress of the Divine Blood Church was built as an imitation to that of the sect. As a cheap imitation of it, however, both fortresses were not even on the same order of magnitude.

However, all those terrifying attacks didn’t bring about what everyone had hoped to see; they had hoped that that young man who kept calling himself a god would perish.

That young man held a flag that blocked all of the incoming attacks. A black tortoise was then conjured around him.

As the legends said, this black tortoise was the mystical beast that excelled in defense.

That black tortoise had blocked all of the attacks so well that none of them could hurt it. That was precisely why that young man dared to pursue them all the way to the central gates without any fear.

That flag spun around him casually.

That young man simply smirked and said, “This is the Black Tortoise Flag that I have worked on for centuries. It isn’t something that you people would be able to take down so easily.”

That young man then snorted as a tiny sword about the size of his finger spun on top of his hand. It took only an instant for it to grow into a massive blade.

That sword measured over a dozen kilometers, looking as if it was capable of piercing through the heavens.

That terrifying sword came down on the sect’s base.

As it cleaved through the heavens, countless barriers were shattered right away before the sword crashed into the central gates.

Boom!!

The entire place shook. Dust and debris flew everywhere.

Casualties were at an all-time high as the sword came down. All fighters caught within the vicinity of the sword’s attack were reduced to bloody mist.

That one slash alone killed tens of thousands of members of the sect.

That attack was so shocking that all of the fighters found throughout the sect were completely baffled.

An attack from one such hyper being looked as if it was able to bring down the sky.

None of them thought that such a fighter could actually exist.

They had only heard of how Lu Xuan was able to level the great altar of the Divine Blood Church all by himself. None of them had any concrete idea of just how powerful one had to be to accomplish such feats.

At that moment, they finally learned what they need: there was indeed such a monster in the world. To make matters even worse, there was more than one such monster.

“What should we do…”

All of the fighters fell into despair. That young man who claimed to be a god was extremely powerful on both the offensive and the defensive.

His attacks were capable of shattering all of the sect’s defenses with a single slash. When he defended himself, the sect’s attacks could even scratch him.

They wondered how they were supposed to deal with such a monster.

The strongest person in the sect was the sectmaster, Xuanyangzi. It had already been proven that Xuanyangzi was no match for him.

They wouldn’t have needed to resort to such measures otherwise.

That young man’s eyes lit up like a torch and shimmered with golden light. It was as if he was able to see the expressions on everyone’s faces. When he saw that all of them looked to be in despair, he couldn’t help but wear an expression of glee on his face.

That was what he wanted to see. As a god, he could dominate the entire world.

Suddenly, a sarcastic voice rang out from within the Immemorial Path. “Good disciple of mine. Have you missed your teacher throughout the years?”

That young man’s expression changed drastically when he heard that voice. “It can’t be! This should be impossible!”

Before anyone realized what was actually happening, a beam of golden light flashed. A figure shimmering with golden light then appeared in the air.

Everyone was able to tell that the figure was purely made out of energy.

“Who is that?”

Many didn’t know who that figure was, but they still saw it as a sign of hope.

“You’re still alive?”

That young man looked at that man before his eyes, uttering with disbelief.

Golden light burst from his eyes right away as he said, “So, you’re not alive after all. A geezer like you wanted to come out and scare me even in the afterlife, huh?”

He finally breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that the figure before him wasn’t truly alive. Having lived under the shadow of that figure’s might and renown for so many years, he almost reacted instinctively.

Only then did he remember that over 10000 years passed. There was just no way that figure could still be alive.

“What should I call you now then? Dead old fart, or sacred ancestor?”

That young man then wore an expression of contempt on his face, returning to his cocky attitude after confirming that the figure standing before him wasn’t a living person.

The young man’s words caused a huge commotion.

That construct of energy was actually the sacred ancestor?

Everyone was shocked. Regardless of whether or not they were a cultivator of the sect, it could be said that all cultivators in the world grew up listening to the legend of the sacred ancestor.

The sacred ancestor was but a legend to everyone. They never thought that they would see this sacred ancestor in the flesh.
