Chapter 374 - A Slaughter
Chapter 374: A Slaughter
More importantly, several methods that were previously unavailable were made accessible to someone after making a breakthrough into the Second Tier of the Divine Treasure Realm.
There were a variety of spells and powers that Lu Xuan had at his disposal. that he was unable to use. With his Spiritual Qi being at very low levels in nature among the level of known energies, however, he was unable to use them.
For instance, the Advent of the Thunder Dragon was something that he had to specifically seal within his Dragonslayer every time before making use of the move. This would allow him to unleash that power from the blade whenever he needed to.
Despite how unbelievably massive his Spiritual Qi reserve was, however, it would have been depleted almost completely if he used conventional methods.
However, it would’ve been an entirely different matter if he were to cast the spell using Spiritual Aether instead. In his current condition, Lu Xuan could cast five consecutive Advent of the Thunder Dragons without even flinching at all.
One could tell just how vast the difference would be.
It was a fundamental change in quality brought forth by overwhelming quantity.
There were very few beings in the Divine Treasure Realm. Even Zhang Hongyang, the rabbit, and the others were made into such beings by using the power of faith. Beings at the Second Tier of Divine Treasure Realm were even rarer.
A move could be boosted 10 times over if he was the one casting it; that alone proved just how overwhelming his powers became.
The difference between Spiritual Qi and Spiritual Aether was just too great.
As of now, a small island located in the waters near Zhoushan was filled with people. All of them were cultivators from all walks of life; there were even cultivators that were not from Huaxia. Cultivators from Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and even the United States were seen on the island.
For the past week, the small island had been emanating dazzling lights that were so bright that the night became as bright as day.
While all those cultivators were from different nations, it seemed as if they were all banding together on the same side.
Only six beings were standing against all the cultivators from the other side, yet such beings possessed a presence so overwhelming that they had completely overpowered all cultivators from the other side.
Currently, most of the six were extremely notorious to the people of the outside world.
Except for the three that had been wrecking places in Huaxia, there was also a king of eagles that had been terrorizing the Alps in Europe. A king of dragons had been causing commotions so huge in the US, that the nation’s government was rendered powerless against it.
Disregarding those five, who were all familiar faces to the cultivators present on the island, there was one other left.
That being was dressed in white clothes that billowed in the wind. A set of horns resembling that of stags were growing out of its forehead. One would wonder whether that was a result of a botched transformation, or simply choosing to left the horns behind.
It was apparent that the being was also a demon.
There were only six of them, yet they seemed to almost be able to overpower the humans present almost completely.
The human cultivators were all from different nations, yet they were all so overwhelmed by the demons that they had to unite so they could stand against the demonic threat.
The massive Huaxian fleet was vaguely seen close by. The fleet was, however, different from that of the usual navies; they all shimmered with a sheen of runes.
There was no mistaking it; all of that glitter came from talismans.
The Special Task Force developed small arms, cannons, shells, and a variety of other weapons that were all based on the runic ammunition provided by Lu Xuan.
However, there was more to the result of research on the runes; weapons were not the only tools developed from the runes. They gained quite a bit of knowledge and understanding of the runes to apply them to defensive measures.
All of those results were being applied to the new East Sea Fleet of Huaxia, and a variety of runes were seen on the bodies of those ships.
Initially, powerful cultivators could have brought a warship down with only a single swing of the sword.
As such, the ships were utterly defenseless against Airborne Realm beings.
With the protection from the new runes, however, not even Airborne Realm fighters could destroy those warships as easily.
All of that was considered the latest results of their research.
The fleet even became capable of posing a serious threat against the Divine Treasure Realm beings.
That was the fundamental reason why the Huaxian authorities mobilized the East Sea Fleet; they were training their troops and trying out their latest weapons.
Those demons had been going about causing trouble in many countries. The European and American armed forces had been fighting them all the while, and only the Huaxian military had yet to be seen taking action against the demons.
All residents from the barely huge island had all been evacuated. The only ones left on the island were basically powerful cultivators who were capable of holding their own.
No common folk would be foolish enough to get anywhere near somewhere so dangerous.
None of those demons looked even fazed at the sight of the massive gathering of the humans.
All five notorious demons throughout the world were jeered and looked down upon by countless people on the internet, but it was apparent that the one dressed in white was their leader.
That young man who had been wrecking the Special Task Force’s headquarters before bowed and asked, “Young master, these people are rather annoying. How about we clean them out before the tree emerges?”
Despite being somewhat rebellious nature, he nonetheless lowered his head at that young man dressed in white without showing even the slightest hint of disrespect.
“They’re merely insects. We won’t have any problems getting rid of them.”
That young man dressed in white could not help but smirk.
“Those foolish humans. Do they really think that they could stop us with just that East Sea Fleet alone? We’d just leave after taking the divine tree, cutting down anyone who dares to stand in our way.”
“Yes, sir.”
All five of them replied, not finding anything wrong with the order from that young man in white.
“The divine tree holds the key for us demons to take over the world. No one is allowed to let their guard down,” that young man dressed in white added coldly.
Everyone saw divine light suddenly shimmering from the center of the island, which would have looked extremely dazzling even during the day.
Everyone knew that the true treasure was about to emerge.
Aside from the demons, however, no one knew what kind of a treasure would they be seeing moments later. Then again, none of that was stopping them from making a move.
Just when they were about to charge at the source of the shimmering light, the black-robed young man casually threw a terrifying sword aura at them.
Boom!
That attack landed towards the humans as they were about to make a move.
“Anyone who dares to even think about it shall perish!”
Everyone was stunned right there and then.
A woman dressed in fiery red and a somewhat monkey-like man were seen standing behind that black-robed young man.
The three of them proved more than sufficient to take on over 100 of those human cultivators from all walks of life.
That was how things worked among the cultivators. The greater the difference in levels, the more impossible it would become to make up for the gap in sheer numbers alone.
At that moment, someone from within the crowd shouted, “Have no fear! There are plenty of us and only a handful of them. What could they do to us?”
However, the black-robed young man made a move immediately after that person spoke, throwing out a flash of the blade that seemed utterly unstoppable. The attack cut down over a dozen cultivators on the spot as it traveled, spraying a mist of blood everywhere.
While most of them were Celestial Realm cultivators, there were also several Airborne Realm ones in their midst. Regardless of their level, they were all still ripped to shreds.
One could tell just how terrifying that attack was.
“No need to talk to them. Just kill them all.”
That fiery red woman immediately proceeded to breathe fire at the side of the human cultivators.
