The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 438: Money Power No Longer Works

Chapter 438: Chapter 438: Money Power No Longer Works

Silas Page hadn’t expected Serena Tucker to ask to meet him.

He agreed without a second thought and even ordered flowers.

Only when he arrived at the private room did he realize it wasn’t a one-on-one date.

Silas Page felt a pang of disappointment, but a moment later, his attention was caught by two unfamiliar—and rather pretty—faces in the room. He was instantly captivated.

"Oh, new friends?" he asked, looking at Serena Tucker. "Yara, aren’t you going to introduce us?"

"There’s no need." Serena Tucker glared at him, suppressing the revulsion she felt. "I called you here today to discuss something."

Silas Page blinked. "Oh? What about?" he asked, curious.

"Can I borrow your phone?" Serena Tucker asked, holding out her hand.

Silas Page hesitated for a moment before placing the phone in her hand.

Serena Tucker said, "Unlock it."

Silas Page froze. "What do you need my phone for?"

"I said unlock it. Don’t you understand me?" Serena Tucker’s brow furrowed.

"Hold on, Yara. You have to tell me what you plan on doing with my phone first." Silas Page couldn’t just hand it over to her.

"Silas Page." Serena Tucker’s expression darkened. She raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face. "You’ve really been pushing your luck, haven’t you?"

Stunned by the slap, Silas Page raised a hand to his stinging cheek. "Yara, have you lost your mind?" he asked, displeased.

"Silas Page, you’re fucking disgusting." Still feeling unsatisfied, Serena Tucker smacked him hard on the forehead with her purse.

"Fuck!" Getting hit in front of so many women, Silas Page was practically breathing fire. "Serena Tucker, are you out of your goddamn mind?"

Serena Tucker gritted out, "You had Rosalie Young get close to me, take private photos of me, and steal my jewelry. How despicable can you be?" 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Silas Page’s expression shifted instantly. He shot a look at Rosalie Young, cursing inwardly, ’This damn woman! She took my money and then sold me out!’

"That’s not true," Silas Page denied. "Yara, we’ve known each other for years. Don’t you know what kind of person I am? How could I possibly do something so vile?"

He pointed at Rosalie Young, his voice full of conviction. "She must be slandering me! Yara, I’m telling you, Rosalie Young confessed her feelings for me, and I turned her down. She knows I have a crush on you, so she’s trying to tear me down in front of you. You can’t believe a word she says."

"Bullshit!" Rosalie Young exploded. "You despicable man, you don’t have the guts to admit what you did! I’m not slandering you—I have proof right here on my phone!"

She unlocked her phone as she spoke. "Every time I sent you one of Serena Tucker’s private photos, you transferred money to me!"

Rosalie Young added angrily, "If you hadn’t asked for it, why would a woman like me ever do something so perverted?"

"You..." Silas Page was too furious to form a rebuttal, seething with rage. "You have no sense of morality whatsoever!"

’She has no professional ethics at all! How could she sell out a client?’

Serena Tucker snatched Rosalie Young’s phone. When she saw the photos that had been sent, her face went deathly pale.

She clenched her fists. The more she thought about it, the more disgusted she became. "I’m calling the police!"

Not wanting to involve the police, Silas Page tried to reason with her gently. "Yara, we’ve all known each other for years. Is this really necessary? My intentions were good, after all. I just wanted to get to know you better..."

His words left everyone utterly dumbfounded.

Michelle Fuller looked at him, astonished. "Your intention in secretly taking someone’s private photos was *good*?"

"In that case, Serena’s intention in calling the police is also good," Renee Jennings said sarcastically. "You really do need to be reformed."

Rosalie Young, also afraid of Serena Tucker calling the police, started to cry. "Yara, if you’re really that angry, I’ll apologize! I’ll get on my knees and beg for your forgiveness, okay?"

Serena Tucker couldn’t care less about them begging for forgiveness. She was adamant about calling the police.

Seeing this, Silas Page’s attitude changed as well. But he wasn’t the least bit panicked. It wasn’t like he’d killed someone, after all. A small matter like this could be smoothed over with a phone call and a little bit of cash.

The police officers arrived quickly. The moment they saw that the legendary Renee Jennings was also present, they hurried over to greet her.

"Consultant Jennings! What a coincidence!"

"Consultant Jennings, hello, I’m..."

"Hello, Officers." Renee Jennings smiled and nodded. "I’m a friend of the one who made the report."

Seeing this, Silas Page’s expression turned grim, and a sense of panic began to set in.

’So Serena Tucker’s new friend is someone important?’

Because of Renee Jennings’s presence, the two officers began to take the matter much more seriously.

The group went to the police station to give their statements. Silas Page tried to use his "superpower"—money—to make the whole thing go away, but he soon discovered it wasn’t working.

**

Night fell softly over the city, and the moonlight cast a hazy, tranquil glow.

Their afternoon tea had been ruined, so Serena Tucker treated everyone to a delicious dinner instead.

They parted ways at the restaurant entrance.

"See you next time."

"It’s my treat next time!"

"Text me when you get home..."

Renee Jennings hailed a cab by the roadside and headed back to Eastgate Villa with Michelle Fuller.

Michelle was staying the night at Renee’s place. Renee was going to be livestreaming, and Michelle wanted to watch.

"Oh, Michelle’s here!" Rhea Dempsey greeted her with a warm smile.

"Sister Michelle!" Zane and Jasmine chimed in unison.

Michelle Fuller slapped her forehead in mock dismay. "Oh no, I forgot to bring you guys presents today! I’ll take you shopping tomorrow to make up for it."

"You don’t have to, Michelle," Diana Jennings said with a light chuckle. "You don’t need to bring a gift every time you visit. We’re just happy you’re here."

Michelle Fuller was no longer as awkward around Diana Jennings as she had been at first. She grinned and said, "Oh my gosh, Diana, you’re so beautiful and you say the sweetest things! It’s just not fair to the rest of us!"

Diana Jennings laughed. "Michelle, you’re the one with the sweet mouth. You really know how to flatter someone."

"I’m not flattering you!" Michelle Fuller said with a sincere expression. "I’m serious! You have to believe me, Diana!"

"Alright, alright." Diana Jennings smiled and nodded. "I believe you."

After Renee Jennings and Michelle Fuller showered and came downstairs, they found a plate of cut fruit on the coffee table.

Diana Jennings asked, "Are you two hungry? Should I make you a late-night snack?"

Looking at Diana Jennings, Michelle Fuller sighed to herself. ’It’s so nice to have a sister. If my dumb little brother were a sister instead... I can’t even imagine how happy I’d be.’

"Michelle, are you hungry?" Renee Jennings asked.

Michelle Fuller shook her head. "I’m not, thanks, Diana."

"Alright," Diana Jennings said with a smile. "Just let me know if you get hungry. I’m going to take Zane and Jasmine upstairs to bed."

"Okay!" Michelle Fuller replied sweetly. "Good night, Zane and Jasmine! I’ll take you out to play tomorrow."

"Yay! Yay! Good night, Sister Michelle!"

"Thank you, Sister Michelle!"

Filled with anticipation for the next day, the two little ones obediently went to their rooms to sleep.

Renee Jennings glanced at the time. It was already ten.

She had told her fans she would start her stream at 10:30 tonight, so she still had time to watch some TV with Rhea Dempsey.

"By the way, where’s Dad?"

Rhea Dempsey replied indistinctly through a bite of apple, "He’s out gallivanting with his old classmates tonight."

Renee Jennings asked, "This late? Was he drinking?"

"Of course," Rhea Dempsey said darkly. "I told him not to bother coming home tonight."

"I’m home!" Speak of the devil.
