Chapter 334: Chapter 334: Content You Can Watch for Free

Sawyer looked at PorkCongee and reassured her, "Don’t worry, we’ll get you out of here."

Walter Conway’s brow furrowed, his tone tinged with annoyance. "I already said we’d take her home. There’s no need for you to get involved."

Henry Stark shot him a cool glance before his eyes landed on Donovan Grant’s hand. His tone was calm, yet it left no room for argument. "Let go."

Staring into Henry Stark’s deep-set eyes, Donovan Grant felt his scalp prickle for some reason and subconsciously released his grip.

Freed, PorkCongee quickly scurried over to Sawyer’s side.

"You can’t take her." Walter Conway frowned and snapped, "You two are young. I’d advise you not to stick your noses where they don’t belong. Do you have any idea who this gentleman is?"

He pointed to Dylan Grant, his voice laced with arrogance. "President Grant is not someone you can afford to offend."

Henry Stark’s expression was serene, a faint, unreadable smile playing on his lips. "Is that a threat?"

A contemptuous smile spread across Walter Conway’s face. "You could interpret it that way."

Henry Stark let out a soft chuckle and pulled his ID from his shirt pocket. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"Sorry, but police officers aren’t afraid of threats." He held the ID up for the man to see. "Get a good look?"

Henry Stark put his ID away, his sharp gaze falling on Donovan Grant. "You’re still on probation and you’re already pulling this? Are you trying to go back inside for a few more years?"

The color drained from Donovan Grant’s face.

Walter Conway and the others’ expressions changed drastically. ’They didn’t expect these two young men to actually be police officers?’

Once Fiona Lee processed what was happening, she shot a hateful glare at PorkCongee.

’That bitch actually called the police without a word?’

PorkCongee was looking down at her phone and didn’t notice the glare.

Walter Conway quickly recovered, stepping forward to grasp Henry Stark’s hand. "Ah, so you’re an officer! Which precinct are you with? I have several friends who work at the station. Perhaps you know them."

"You have friends on the force?" Henry Stark raised an eyebrow.

"That’s right," Walter Conway chuckled. "We’re all on the same side. We should grab a drink together sometime, what do you say?"

"What are your friends’ names?" Henry Stark asked nonchalantly. "I’ll have the department launch a priority investigation into corruption and bribery."

The smile on Walter Conway’s face froze.

[Hahahaha, so satisfying!]

[This cop really knows how to talk.]

[This scumbag trying to cozy up to the cop, so shameless!]

Seeing that Walter Conway wasn’t getting anywhere, Dylan Grant stepped forward.

"Hello." He offered a business card to Henry Stark, intending to make him back down. "I was a classmate of Mayor Wyatt’s."

"And?" Henry Stark glanced at the card but didn’t take it.

A flicker of displeasure crossed Dylan Grant’s eyes from behind his glasses, but he quickly broke into a smile. "Ah, the fearlessness of youth. What’s your name?"

Henry Stark ignored the loaded question, his deep, dark eyes fixed on Donovan Grant as he said coldly, "You’re coming with us to the station."

"Hold on." Dylan Grant suppressed his anger, taking the watch from his wrist and holding it out. "This watch is worth three million. You should understand what I mean."

[Holy shit, am I really getting to watch this for free?]

[Damn, straight-up bribery in public!!!]

[Whoa, he’s pulling out all the stops.]

[I’m so scared the stream is gonna get taken down ahhhhh]

"Three million." A wry smile touched Henry Stark’s lips. "And what do you mean by that?"

"Let’s just forget this whole thing ever happened today." A smile broadened on Dylan Grant’s face. "Leave the girl here, and I’ll treat you two to tea some other time."

PorkCongee frowned, utterly disgusted. "I’m not staying! I don’t like your brother!"

Dylan Grant completely ignored her, his eyes fixed on Henry Stark. "So? What do you say?"

"Save it for the station." Henry Stark pulled out a pair of silver handcuffs and walked toward Donovan Grant.

Terrified, he stumbled backward, shouting frantically, "I don’t want to go to jail! I don’t want to!"

"Officer!" Dylan Grant blocked Henry Stark’s path, saying nervously, "You can name your price, too. I’ll do everything in my power to meet your demands. I just hope you can pretend today never happened."

"Impossible," Henry Stark said coldly.

As he cuffed Donovan Grant, Sawyer bagged the drink Fiona Lee had been pressuring PorkCongee to have as evidence.

Watching this, fear and anxiety surged through Fiona Lee, and she quietly tugged on her husband’s sleeve.

Walter Conway was incredibly frustrated and had no time to deal with his wife.

’His hope for a promotion was down the drain.’

’He had brought Hailey Brooks here, which meant he was the one who’d screwed everything up.’

PorkCongee quietly raised her phone, giving her livestream viewers a clear view of the vile expressions on their faces.

Donovan Grant was cuffed and led away, while the others were also taken to the station for questioning.

On the way to the station, Dylan Grant called his lawyer, only to learn that his attempt to bribe Henry Stark was already all over the internet.

Dylan Grant’s face was ashen. He felt as if he were plunging into an abyss, consumed by darkness and fear. He could already picture it: when the market opened tomorrow, the stock for his company, the East River Group, would collapse like an avalanche. It would be a bloodbath.

「Danielle Archer also spent a sleepless night.」

She sat on the sofa all night, flipping through nearly twenty years of family photo albums, still unable to believe that her closest relatives would try to murder her for money.

A sliver of hope remained deep in Danielle Archer’s heart. ’Maybe the gas line just broke because it was old?’

A flicker of conflict showed in Danielle Archer’s eyes. She started recording a video on her spare phone, positioning it carefully, then started a voice recording on her main phone as well.

Gritting her teeth, she lay down on the floor.

At the crack of dawn, the sound of a key turning in the lock came from the door.

CREAK... The door opened from the outside, and Tina Archer’s family of three entered Danielle Archer’s house one by one.

They pulled pre-prepared masks from their pockets, put them on, and began to search the apartment.

"Mom!" an excited voice called out. "Mom, come quick! My aunt collapsed over here!"

It was a voice Danielle Archer knew well—her sister Tina’s son, the precious nephew she had doted on since he was a baby.

There was no anxiety or tension in his voice. Instead, Danielle detected a horrifying hint of glee.

"Let me see!" Tina Archer hurried to her son’s side and crouched down to inspect Danielle, who was lying on the floor. "Is she dead?"

"I don’t know!" Victor Sawyer frowned. "The gas has been leaking since yesterday. She’s been in here for so long, there’s no way she could have survived."

"You idiot!" Tina Archer reached out and held a hand under Danielle’s nose, her voice thick with unconcealed excitement. "I don’t think she’s breathing!"

"Really?" Victor Sawyer’s face also lit up with excitement. "That’s fantastic! I’m saved! I can pay back those loan sharks! They won’t have to chop off my hands and feet!"

Danielle felt a hot sting behind her eyes, but her heart felt as if it had plunged into a frozen abyss. An icy chill spread through her veins, coursing through her entire body, so cold that her fingertips began to tremble.
