Chapter 323: The Lizard Just Caught a Thief
Chapter 323: Chapter 323: The Lizard Just Caught a Thief
"Sean," Barbie Lowe said, meeting his slightly confused gaze with a shy smile. "I’m a little nervous."
Upon hearing this, Sean Fuller’s tone softened. "Don’t be nervous. It’s just the two of us here."
"But it’s *because* there are only two of us..." Barbie Lowe said, stepping toward Sean Fuller in her high heels, her finger drawing circles on his chest.
She shot him a coquettish glance, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered, "Just the two of us... it makes my heart beat even faster."
Sean Fuller’s breath hitched.
He pursed his lips, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he asked in a husky voice, "What... what are you nervous about?"
Barbie Lowe pressed her body against his and pouted. "Are you just pretending you don’t know?"
Feigning anger, she gave him a light tap on the chest before turning and walking over to the terrarium, presenting her back to him.
Sean Fuller clutched his chest, feeling his heart pound violently. His cheeks grew hotter by the second.
He turned to gaze at Barbie Lowe’s enchanting figure, his breathing heavy. "Barbie, I’m not pretending. I really don’t understand."
"Then come over here, and I’ll tell you," Barbie Lowe said without turning around, beckoning to him with a single finger.
Sean Fuller obediently walked to her side. "Go on, I’m listening."
Barbie Lowe turned her head, meeting his gaze for a few seconds. Then, she slowly turned her body, placing her hands on his shoulders so that she was framed within his arms.
Green Hat, lounging lazily in its resting hammock, watched the scene with suspicion. ’What in the world are they doing?’
"What I mean is..." Barbie Lowe’s face drew closer and closer to Sean Fuller’s. Then, catching him off guard, she planted a quick kiss on his cheek. SMACK.
Green Hat: ???
Barbie Lowe spun around again, once more facing away from Sean Fuller. A triumphant smile flashed in her eyes.
’He’s so naive. An easy win.’
Sean Fuller froze, unable to believe what had just happened.
He raised a hand to the spot Barbie Lowe had kissed. It felt like his blood was on fire, threatening to consume him entirely.
"Barbie..." Sean Fuller’s voice trembled. "D-Do you like me?"
Barbie Lowe: "..."
’Seriously? I fucking kissed you and you’re still asking that dumbass question?’

"That Barbie Lowe... she’s been married? And she has a son?" Mr. Fuller’s expression was grim, his brow deeply furrowed. "Does Hank know?"
Michelle Fuller shook her head. "He doesn’t know. Renee stumbled upon it by accident."
"I see." Mr. Fuller let out a heavy breath.
Seeing his expression, Michelle Fuller grew worried. "Grandpa, don’t you worry about it. Your health is what’s important. Just leave this to me."
"Alright," Mr. Fuller nodded. "If you can’t handle it, let me know."
The three returned to the main hall. Michelle Fuller went to the study to find the pair, just in time to see Sean Fuller and Barbie Lowe in an embrace, their lips nearly touching.
"Hank," Michelle Fuller called out, just before their lips could meet.
Sean Fuller jumped and instinctively pushed Barbie Lowe away.
He turned to the doorway, his face so red it looked like it might burst. "Sis, what are you doing here?"
"I came to see if you two needed someone to take a picture," Michelle Fuller said, crossing her arms and leaning casually against the doorframe. "Did I interrupt?"
Sean Fuller quickly replied, "Not at all! Your timing is perfect. Could you take a picture of Barbie and me?"
"Sure," Michelle Fuller said, walking over.
Sean Fuller handed her his phone and stood awkwardly beside Barbie Lowe.
Michelle Fuller adjusted the focus, snapped a few pictures mostly of Sean Fuller’s nostrils, and handed the phone back. "There. Grandpa wants to see you two."
"Okay." Without looking at the photos, Sean Fuller turned to Barbie Lowe. "Grandpa’s looking for us. Let’s go."
Barbie Lowe was inwardly displeased.
’I haven’t even taken pictures of the antiques yet.’
But she didn’t let it show, replying with a sweet smile, "Of course."
Back in the main hall, Sean Fuller looked at Mr. Fuller. "Grandpa, you wanted to see us?"
"Oh, it’s nothing much," Mr. Fuller said, looking at Barbie Lowe with a cryptic smile. "Miss Lowe, how old are you?"
"Please, call me Barbie, Grandpa," Barbie Lowe said sweetly. "I’m twenty-four."
Mr. Fuller nodded. "Have you been in a serious relationship before?"
"No," Barbie Lowe said, shaking her head. "I was completely focused on my studies. Plenty of boys chased after me, but I turned them all down."
"I see," Mr. Fuller said with a slight smile, not pressing any further.
As it was nearly lunchtime, Barbie Lowe was invited to stay and eat with them.
After lunch, Mr. Fuller retired to his room for a nap, while the others remained in the main hall for tea.
"I need to use the restroom," Barbie Lowe suddenly announced.
Hearing this, Sean Fuller immediately stood up. "I’ll show you the way."
"Thank you," Barbie Lowe said, following Sean Fuller to the restroom.
As she came out of the restroom, she feigned annoyance. "Oh, I think I left something in your grandfather’s study. Sean, I’m just going to go look for it. You go on back and chat with the ladies."
"I’ll go with you," Sean Fuller offered.
But Barbie Lowe stopped him. "No, it’s fine. You go chat with them. We don’t want them to think that just because you have a new... friend, you’ve forgotten all about your sister."
"Okay, then." Sean Fuller nodded. "Just call me if you need anything."
Barbie Lowe smiled. "I will. Don’t worry, I’m not a child."
Only then did Sean Fuller leave.
When Barbie Lowe entered the study, Green Hat thought it was Renee Jennings. Upon seeing who it really was, it felt a mix of disappointment and disgust. ’Ugh, why is it this human again?’
Barbie Lowe took out her phone and began frantically snapping pictures of the antiques on the curio shelves.
She scanned her surroundings, and after confirming there were no security cameras, she slipped a small teacup into her bag.
’Thief!’ Green Hat shrieked.
It lunged at the glass, its dark green eyes fixed on Barbie Lowe. ’How dare she steal the old man’s things! So shameless.’
Barbie Lowe noticed the movement from the terrarium and glanced over, rolling her eyes. "So disgusting."
This made Green Hat even angrier. ’You’re the disgusting one!’
Barbie Lowe took a lipstick from her bag, zipped it closed, and walked out of the study with a smile, her high heels clicking on the floor.
When Sean Fuller saw her return, he immediately asked, "Barbie, did you find it?"
"I did," Barbie Lowe said, holding up the lipstick. "I dropped this."
Sean Fuller took the lipstick from her, glanced at the brand and shade, and silently committed them to memory.
Renee Jennings and Michelle Fuller exchanged a glance. Renee stood up. "I’m going to use the restroom, too."
Michelle Fuller wanted to go with her, but she was worried that if she left, Barbie Lowe would take advantage of her foolish little brother, so she had to stay put.
Renee Jennings didn’t go to the restroom. Instead, she went to the study.
The moment Green Hat saw her, it started waving its limbs frantically. "Renee! You’re finally here! This lizard just caught a thief!"
"A thief?" Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow. "Who?"
Green Hat replied, "That disgusting human with the curly hair! The one who walks on stilts and likes to wiggle around all the time!"
