The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 208: She Heard Chocolate Cursing

Chapter 208: Chapter 208: She Heard Chocolate Cursing

"Okay," Renee agreed. Looking at Oreo, who seemed to have been born with a sad little face, she asked gently, "Oreo, I heard from Ash that you went to stay with Grandma for a month?"

"That’s right." Oreo nodded.

Renee: "Did you have a good time at Grandma’s?"

Perhaps recalling something happy, Oreo broke into a wide grin, his tongue lolling out as he panted. "It was fun! So much fun!"

Renee smiled. "So, did Grandma take you out for a run every day to get some exercise?"

"Nope." Oreo shook his head and woofed. "But Grandma took me out to play every day on her electric scooter."

"What about walks? Did she take you for walks?"

"Walks are too tiring. I don’t like walks at all."

"And when you didn’t want to walk, did Grandma get mad at you?"

"Never!" Oreo woofed proudly. "Grandma loves me! She’d never get mad at me!"

Renee raised an eyebrow and asked, "So what did Grandma do when you didn’t want to walk?"

Oreo: "Grandma would just carry me! Or push me in my little stroller, or give me a ride on her scooter."

Renee: "..."

’She was acting just like a doting grandmother spoiling her grandson.’

Before she could say anything, Oreo made a request.

"Renee, can you please tell Ash to send me back to live with Grandma?"

Renee blinked, a hint of curiosity in her voice. "Why? Don’t you like Ash?"

Hearing this, Ash immediately grew tense. "Host, what did Oreo say?" he asked anxiously.

Renee: "He said he wants to go back and live with Grandma."

Ash’s voice shot up, his tone agitated. "Why?"

"Because Grandma is so nice to me!" Oreo woofed. "Grandma worries I’ll get too tired from walking, so she pushes me in my stroller, and she gives me lots and lots of yummy food!"

He glanced back at his owner, then continued to woof. "Ash is nice too, but not as nice as Grandma."

’Ever since I got back home the day before yesterday, I just can’t get used to it. The letdown is huge.’

After hearing all this, Renee’s slender eyebrows furrowed. She pressed her lips together, now more certain than ever of her earlier thought.

’Ash’s mother was really spoiling Oreo rotten.’

Renee relayed what Oreo had said, and to her surprise, the viewers seemed to feel the same way she did.

[Whoa, Oreo’s grandma sounds a lot like my mother-in-law.]

[Sounds just like my mom! I told her my kid needs to crawl on the floor more to develop their vestibular system, but she just says the floor is too cold and hard and she can’t bear to watch him crawl...]

[Wow, so grandparents spoil their grand-pets too?]

Ash thought this was all completely ridiculous.

"I told her that being overweight puts a strain on Oreo’s heart!" Ash said, furious. He pulled out another phone to make a call. "I need to get to the bottom of this."

He put the call on speaker. Renee heard it ring a few times before a cheerful woman’s voice came on the line.

"Son, why are you calling so late? Did something happen?" Ash’s mother sounded to be in a great mood. "Oh, and how’s my precious Oreo doing? Is he settling in okay now that he’s back?"

Hearing his grandma’s voice, Oreo yipped excitedly, "Grandma!"

Ash covered Oreo’s mouth, his tone cold. "Mom, Oreo stayed with you for a month. Did you take him out for exercise every day?"

"Of course I did," Ash’s mother replied instantly. "Does Oreo miss me?"

"Giving him rides on the scooter and pushing him in a stroller—you call that exercise?" Ash demanded angrily. "And you were giving him treats every day? Didn’t I tell you he needs to be on a strict diet?"

"I..." Ash’s mother, likely feeling guilty, fell silent for a few seconds. When she spoke again, her voice was tinged with tears. "Son, what kind of attitude is that? I was just trying to be nice and help you look after Oreo. Not only are you not grateful, but now you’re yelling at me?"

[Help me, it’s like I’m watching my own mother-in-law. This is so suffocating.]

[One world, one mother-in-law!]

Ash was speechless as well. He took a moment to calm down before continuing, "Mom, I do want to thank you, but what you did really makes me angry. You’re going to hurt Oreo. This could kill him."

"Is it really that serious?" Ash’s mother said, unconcerned. "But Oreo wanted to eat, I couldn’t just let him suffer, could I? And if he didn’t want to walk, there was nothing I could do."

Ash: "Then why didn’t you just tell me the truth? Why did you lie to me?"

Ash’s mother went silent again.

Ash let out a long sigh and said coldly, "I’ll take care of Oreo myself from now on. And you shouldn’t come to see him anymore."

"Why...?"

"I’m tired. I’m done talking about this. Goodbye, Mom."

Ash hung up and stared at Oreo for a long moment before saying sternly, "Starting tomorrow, you’re going to a weight-loss class!"

"Noooo!" Oreo howled, turning to paw at Ash’s clothes. "I want Grandma!"

Ash: "Host, what’s he saying now?"

Renee: "He’s saying ’no,’ and that he wants his grandma."

"It’s not up for discussion." Ash gave him a light smack, then said to Renee, "Host, thanks for your help. I’m going to send you a donation."

He went to send a donation but found that Renee had disabled the feature. "Host, I can’t seem to donate. Could you enable it?"

Renee said softly, "There’s no need. I’ve already received Oreo’s blessing."

Oreo lay in Ash’s arms, whimpering resentfully, "If I’d known this was going to happen, I never would have given you a blessing, WAHHHH."

"No take-backs," Renee said with a smile. "Ash, I’m disconnecting now. Goodbye."

[Host, you should turn donations back on!]

[We strongly demand you enable donations!]

"I’ll think about it," Renee said in response to the chat. "It’s getting pretty late, so I’ll take one more caller and then sign off for the night. Staying up too late isn’t good for you."

[Staying up late is bad for your health, so I suggest we pull an all-nighter!!!]

[I don’t normally pull all-nighters, but if the host is staying up, I’ll stay with you for one night~]

[I second the all-nighter!]

While the viewers were clamoring for an all-nighter, someone quietly managed to connect to the stream.

A short-haired girl with the user ID "FriedIceCream" appeared on the split-screen, holding a blue cat.

Renee smiled and greeted her. "Hello, Ice Cream."

"Hi, Renee!" FriedIceCream tried her best to stay calm, but her excited eyes gave her away. "My name is Kiki, and this is Chocolate."

She’d been watching since the stream started and knew Renee was collecting blessings from animals. So, right after her greeting, she said to the blue cat in her arms, "Chocolate, quick, wish Renee happiness every day~"

Chocolate let out a cooperative "Meow."

FriedIceCream rubbed his head, satisfied, and praised him, "Good boy, Chocolate~"

Renee’s lips pressed into a thin line, and a complicated look flashed in her eyes.

Because she had heard Chocolate cursing.
