Chapter 1061: Chapter 1061: Draft The Story To Tell People

Bai Xifeng had already firmly ordered Baishe, Heishe, and Tao-chan to maintain their vigilant patrol around the outer perimeter of the Inscriber Division. She planned to wait until Baihu fully woke up from his exhaustion and recovered enough spiritual energy to properly conceal his own divine aura before sending him safely back into the hidden pocket of the Mirror World.

Once Baihu disappeared entirely into the Mirror World, even if those ruthless outside experts managed to regroup their scattered forces and force their way into the school grounds again, they would never be able to find even the slightest, most microscopic trace of the newly crowned Beast King.

Ji Yuan remained profoundly silent for a long moment, quietly observing Bai Xifeng’s thoughtful, plotting expression. Only after several quiet beats did he finally speak, his tone as exceptionally calm and composed as always.

"After all of this chaos finally settles down, Principal Qiao will definitely come here personally to demand answers about everything that happened today." Ji Yuan paused briefly, his dark eyes looking directly into Bai Xifeng’s. "What exactly do you intend to tell him?"

Bai Xifeng fell silent for a few moments, her mind running through various scenarios. She absolutely, definitely could not reveal the world-breaking truth that she was capable of contracting multiple beasts at the exact same time. If a secret of that magnitude ever leaked out, the powerful sects would immediately piece everything together and realise that the three terrifying Divine Beasts outside belonged to her. That would only invite endless, suffocating trouble to her doorstep in the future.

"Let’s just tell them that the Beast King accidentally wandered into our isolated division and simply chose this exact location to undergo its sudden heavenly breakthrough." Bai Xifeng finally replied, a clever glint in her eyes. "As for the three catastrophic Divine Beasts outside... let’s simply leave that for everyone else’s wild imaginations to speculate about."

She smiled faintly, a bit of mischief playing on her lips, before continuing. "If I were just a clueless bystander looking at this from the outside, I would probably assume that the birth of the new Beast King naturally attracted the other three Divine Beasts, and they simply came here to protect the ascension of a new king."

Ji Yuan remained silent once more, carefully and logically considering her suggestion. Bai Xifeng was not wrong. At this moment, absolutely nobody outside knew how the Beast King had suddenly manifested inside the Inscriber Division. They could easily tell everyone that the legendary beast had arrived unexpectedly, and before the faculty even had time to properly react, it had already triggered its heavenly tribulation. Naturally, as responsible teachers, they had simply chosen to protect the perimeter.

Besides, since the world assumed a cultivator could only ever tie their soul to a single entity, nobody would ever dream that a young student had secretly pocketed the Beast King alongside three others.

"Hmm... Let’s proceed exactly as you suggest." Ji Yuan gave a slow nod of agreement.

"But, Teacher Ji..." Bai Xifeng suddenly spoke up again, a teasing smirk appearing on her face. "Even if they don’t suspect me, others might very well assume that a master of your calibre is the one who successfully contracted the newborn Beast King."

"And who exactly said I don’t already have a contracted beast of my own?" Ji Yuan replied with a calm, knowing look.

"What? Teacher Ji, you actually have one?" Bai Xifeng blinked several times in sheer, unadulterated surprise. Her tired eyes immediately brightened with intense, childlike curiosity. "What kind of contracted beast do you have? Show me... come on, show me! I want to see it right now."

"Bai Yun, come out." Ji Yuan called out.

The very instant the command left Ji Yuan’s lips, a gentle, ethereal white light manifested directly beside him. A profoundly graceful, majestic crane slowly and elegantly emerged from the glowing radiance.

Its snow-white feathers shimmered with a faint, pearlescent glow beneath the afternoon sunlight, while elegant, ink-black markings decorated the very tips of its long wings like masterful brushstrokes. Its long, slender neck curved proudly, and its piercing, clear eyes radiated an extraordinary level of human-like intelligence.

The majestic bird slowly lowered its elegant head, bowing respectfully toward Ji Yuan.

"Wow..." Bai Xifeng could not help but exclaim under her breath, staring in absolute awe. "He is absolutely beautiful."

The great crane slowly turned its sleek head toward Bai Xifeng, its intelligent gaze locking onto the young girl. It quietly observed her for several silent seconds before turning its attention back to its master.

’Master... this young girl seems to carry a soul scent that is remarkably similar to yours.’ Bai Yun communicated softly through their private telepathic bond.

Ji Yuan simply gave a subtle, single nod. ’Hmm...’ He did not offer his companion any further explanation on the matter.

"Teacher Ji, what magnificent species of crane is this?" Bai Xifeng asked, her eyes practically sparkling as she admired the elegant creature.

"An Aetherial Ink Crane," Ji Yuan answered smoothly. "His name is Bai Yun."

"Oh..." Bai Xifeng nodded along before offering a bright, warm smile. "The name really, truly suits you, Teacher Ji."

She then stepped a bit closer, looking toward the majestic crane again. "Bai Yun, it’s wonderful to meet you. I am Bai Xifeng, your master’s student." She suddenly let out a soft giggle. "Well... Bai Yun... Bai Xifeng... it almost feels like we are already family."

Bai Yun narrowed her intelligent eyes slightly, a soft trill escaping her throat. ’This girl... she smells incredibly pleasant and natural. For some strange reason... I quite like her company.’

Bai Xifeng suddenly remembered something important. She immediately reached deep into her storage rune and retrieved a small, finely crafted jade bottle.
