Chapter 1346: REALLY LOVED THE MAN

Chapter 1346: REALLY LOVED THE MAN

LUO YAN’S eyes went wide. For a second, he wasn’t sure if he had heard Shen Ji Yun right. He stared at him, searching his face for any hint that he might be joking. Then he saw the corner of Shen Ji Yun’s mouth lift, and his blue eyes curve into happy crescents. That was when he knew Shen Ji Yun was telling the truth. A rush of joy flooded through him. He jumped on the spot, then threw his arms around Shen Ji Yun again, holding him tight. All the worry from before melted away. His father had given his approval. Everything was going to be okay.

"Really, Brother Ji Yun?" he asked, just to be sure. "You’re not joking with me, are you?"

Shen Ji Yun chuckled and pulled him closer, his arms tightening around Luo Yan like he wanted to press them together until there was no space left between them. "I wouldn’t joke about this. Your father gave his approval. He didn’t look too happy about it, but he still did."

Luo Yan felt like crying, but his happiness and relief were much stronger. So he laughed instead. "You must have given one heck of a speech to get Dad to agree that fast."

"No," Shen Ji Yun said, pressing his face into the crook of Luo Yan’s neck. "I just told him the truth."

Luo Yan blinked at that answer. It was unexpected, but also very Shen Ji Yun. He wasn’t one to dress up his words or make big declarations. He just said what he felt, plain and simple. So if his father had agreed after hearing Shen Ji Yun speak like that, it meant the honesty must have reached him. His father must have finally seen how much Shen Ji Yun truly loved him. The thought made Luo Yan’s chest feel warm all over again.

He pulled back a little and decided to give Shen Ji Yun a small reward. He cupped his cheeks and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Shen Ji Yun’s eyes went wide for a second, but Luo Yan saw the way his pupils dilated. He watched as Shen Ji Yun’s gaze grew unfocused, the clear want to kiss him back written all over his face. But before he could, a voice cut in from beside them.

"Why are you two hugging?"

Bai Ye’s childish voice made them jump apart. Luo Yan looked down at his little cousin, his face feeling warm. He had been so happy that he forgot Bai Ye was still in the room. He hoped the kid hadn’t seen the kiss. It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with showing affection, but Bai Ye was young. He was still at an impressionable age. So Luo Yan knew he had to be more careful around him.

Luo Yan pushed down the awkwardness he was feeling and crouched down to Bai Ye’s level. He smiled at his little cousin. "Because I was really happy to see Brother Ji Yun. That’s just what people do when someone they’ve been missing finally shows up."

Bai Ye tilted his head. "Didn’t Brother Ji Yun come to the party last night?"

His little cousin stared at him like he was trying to figure out why Luo Yan was acting like they hadn’t seen each other in weeks.

Luo Yan’s smile nearly faltered. Why did Bai Ye have to be so perceptive at such a young age? He didn’t know how to answer, so he just ruffled his little cousin’s hair instead.

"People could hug when they wanted, Xiao Ye. It doesn’t have to mean anything big."

He pulled Bai Ye into a quick hug to prove his point, hoping the topic would just drift away on its own.

"Hmm... okay, but you were hugging him a lot tighter than you hug me," Bai Ye said, squinting up at them suspiciously.

Bai Ze burst out laughing. "He’s got you there, Xiao Yan."

Luo Yan decided not to respond to what his younger cousin said. With Bai Ye, it would only turn into a long, endless conversation. So he stood up and changed the subject instead. "Come on, Xiao Ye, do you want to play with Brother Ji Yun? He’s way better than Brother Ze."

Shen Ji Yun raised an eyebrow but didn’t argue.

"Hey, I heard that," Bai Ze called out. "For your information, I’m way better at console games than he is."

Bai Ye narrowed his eyes, glancing back and forth between his brother and Shen Ji Yun like he was trying to figure out who was actually telling the truth. As if he finally decided what to do, he announced, "Then I’ll play with whoever wins."

This time, Luo Yan was the one who laughed. He gave Shen Ji Yun a playful shove toward where Bai Ze was sitting in front of the large monitor. "Go on, Brother Ji Yun. Show Xiao Ye here what you’ve got."

Shen Ji Yun glanced at him, then reached over and gave Luo Yan’s cheek a light pinch, a helpless smile on his face. After that, he walked over to where Bai Ze was sitting. Bai Ye quickly followed to watch the match. Luo Yan headed back to the couch and sat down between his brothers again.

"So I take it everything went well?" Luo Ren asked, keeping his voice low so only his two brothers could hear.

Luo Yan turned to his brother, a bright smile spreading across his face. "Yeah."

Luo Ren studied his brother’s face for a moment. He wondered if their father had at least made Shen Ji Yun work for it. But then he figured it didn’t really matter, as long as Luo Yan was happy. "Good for you."

Luo Jin let out a short snort. "I told you that guy would do whatever it takes to make sure he and Yan get the family’s approval."

Luo Yan just laughed at that. His eyes drifted to Shen Ji Yun, who was focused and serious as he battled Bai Ze in a fighting game. Just watching him like this, doing something so normal, made Luo Yan’s chest feel full. He couldn’t help but smile.

Yeah, he really loved this man.
