Chapter 356 - Her First Dance
Chapter 356: Her First Dance
Although Su Wan had said so, everyone did not give up. Instead, they continued persuading her to drink.
“It’s such a joyous day today. Young Madam, take a sip! If you don’t drink, you’re not giving us face.”
The person who spoke was a popular boss in the business world. Furthermore, his younger sister had married one of the relatives of the Jiang family. In recent years, he had some business contacts with Sheng Yuan.
Hence, he was sort of a relative…
Su Wan frowned. In a dilemma, she looked at the glass of red wine. Suddenly, the glass of red wine was snatched by the man beside her from the boss’s hand.
“I’ll drink for her!”
A sentence was uttered and Jiang Xuecheng took the glass. He drank the entire glass, looking free and easy.
“Great! Young Master, you’re forthright!”
Su Wan was taken aback. Before she could say anything, people all around started to yell and they pushed their glasses to Jiang Xuecheng.
It was no wonder everyone went into an uproar—no one dared to persuade Jiang Xuecheng to drink on ordinary days but today was special and everyone brought forth their courage.
Seeing Jiang Xuecheng drinking glass after glass of red wine, a dark light flashed through Su Wan’s eyes. She held her hand up smilingly, signaling to everyone to listen to her.
Su Wan bowed slightly at the guests and with a genuine voice said, “Everyone please enjoy your drink. Xuecheng and I wish to go over there to watch the dancing.”
As she spoke, Su Wan tugged Jiang Xuecheng toward the dance floor.
There were lights and shadows and beautiful clothes. Many young couples were dancing in the middle of the dance floor.
Su Wan heaved a sigh of relief after they had escaped from the group of people who persuaded them to drink. She looked up slightly and examined Jiang Xuecheng’s face.
Strange, Jiang Xuecheng drank glass after glass just now but his face wasn’t red and he wasn’t panting. He still looked indifferent and elegant, as if he had not had any wine.
Nevertheless, Su Wan was still worried. “Are you alright? Would you like me to ask someone to prepare the hangover drink?”
Jiang Xuecheng lowered his head and planted a light kiss on Su Wan’s hair.
“Don’t worry, I know my limits. Today is our wedding night. I won’t be drunk.”

When the deep male voice entered her ears, he sounded serious, without any tone of teasing. However, Su Wan widened her eyes.
Had she heard correctly?
Wedding night?
Su Wan’s long eyelashes fluttered and she was taken aback for two seconds before she slowly digested this phrase.
Suddenly, her face was stained red, matching her rose red evening gown, making people reluctant to shift their eyes away from her.
Because Jiang Xuecheng did not deliberately lower his voice, Su Wan seemed to see people nearby looking at them.
Su Wan was so embarrass she wished she could bury her head in Jiang Xuecheng’s embrace. She glared at him.
“Nonsense…didn’t we marry…long ago?”
Jiang Xuecheng smiled faintly and said, “Today is the real wedding day, isn’t it?”
According to the wedding custom here, even wedding anniversaries weren’t celebrated on the day of marriage registration but on the day of wedding ceremony instead.
Su Wan was speechless. Suddenly, she thought of a serious problem. She stared at Jiang Xuecheng and started to murmur, “Then, should we be on guard against those who will disturb us on our wedding night?”
Hearing Su Wan’s undisguised worry, Jiang Xuecheng smiled. He caressed her hair.
“Don’t worry, no one would dare disturb us on our wedding night.”
Just then, the guests on the dance floor noticed the bride and the groom and started to invite Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng to waltz.
Upon hearing this, awkwardness appeared on her face. She couldn’t drink and now she couldn’t dance…
She knew too late, the importance of learning another skill…
“I…”
Just when Su Wan wanted to say she didn’t know how to, she was pulled to the dance floor by the man beside her.
The men and women in the dance floor saw Jiang Xuecheng coming and naturally moved aside to give the bride and groom a large central position.
The flashing stage light shone on them and Su Wan felt Jiang Xuecheng’s facial contour looked deeper.
Su Wan looked at Jiang Xuecheng and said embarrassingly, “You know I don’t know how to dance…”
If she couldn’t dance but forced herself to dance, she would embarrass Jiang Xuecheng. It would be embarrassing since so many famous people in the upper class were watching.
Back then, during the Beitong charity dinner, Lu Qingyu had invited Su Wan to dance but was declined.
Now, Lu Qingyu and Ye Siren were also dancing cheek-to-cheek on the dance floor. Lu Qingyu kept looking at Su Wan and his eyes were full of provocative laughter.
It was as if he was waiting to see Su Wan making a fool of herself.
Seeing Su Wan lowering her eyes, Jiang Xuecheng was calm. He held Su Wan’s hand and placed it on his shoulder.
Jiang Xuecheng went near her ears and his charming voice flowed from his thin lips in an instant.
“It’s okay, I’ll teach you.”
“I’m stupid. What if I step on your feet?” Jiang Xuecheng’s voice was so near, it sounded like the sound of air blowing in her ear. Su Wan panicked. She looked at Jiang Xuecheng anxiously and uttered what she was most afraid of.
On this huge dance floor, which female partner would step on their male partner’s feet?
It would be the biggest joke ever!
Hearing Su Wan say she was stupid, Jiang Xuecheng had obviously not caught her main point. A light smile appeared but his eyes were full of teasing.
“Wan Wan, you finally admit that you’re dumb.”
Being mocked mercilessly by her husband, Su Wan rolled her eyes.
Jiang Xuecheng felt she was young and ignorant and couldn’t help but pinch her pretty face.
When Su Wan grinned and protested, Jiang Xuecheng smiled. “Step as you wish. I don’t mind.”
Su Wan felt warm within but she didn’t want to admit defeat. “Don’t blame me for stepping on you by then.”
“Okay.”
It was a one-word answer. Following the beautiful music, Su Wan started her first dance ever.
Jiang Xuecheng looked at Su Wan and taught her how to waltz patiently. “Wan Wan, take one step back, raise your arm…”
In order to not disgrace herself and Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan learned seriously. Except for stepping on Jiang Xuecheng’s shoes the first two times, she slowly kept up with the rhythm. Her waltz steps were gradually correct.
“Yes, very good, that’s it.”
Hearing his praise, Su Wan’s lips slowly curved up into a radian.
She looked at Jiang Xuecheng with nostalgia. That pair of dark eyes were as deep as the sky in the night, so vast where countless stars hid.
Looking at them, Su Wan couldn’t help spacing out. She then thought of a very important question.
Watching Jiang Xuecheng’s skillfulness in dancing, she wondered if he had been practicing waltz with girls in the past. Would he have done so?
