Fu Hua massaged his temples and refused to say a word. He could feel a headache creeping in.

"Fu Hua, do you want me to make arrangements for you?" Fu Hee asked, but with one icy glare from Him, she instinctively stopped talking.

Fu Hua retracted his gaze and focused his sight on the magazine in his hands.

"Fu Hua, I will leave now, but you really need to brood over your future. You are old enough to start your family." Fu Hee said before stepping out of his bedroom.

When she left, Fu Hua massaged his temples and exhaled a deep breath. His mother was too troublesome.

Over the week, Fu Juan visited, and the reason for her visit was so interesting. She came to meet Grandfather Fu because she wanted to adopt Jia Li as her daughter since she didn't have any children.

"Father, I want to adopt Jia Li as my daughter, I don't have a child, and I like her so much, so I will like to take her under my wings. My husband has already agreed to my request." Fu Hee said to the old man in his study.

Grandfather Fu had black lines on his forehead. But trust him not to agree to her request.

Jia Li was the granddaughter-in-law he was delicately grooming, so how could he give her out and ruin his plans just like that?

Grandfather Fu would never allow that. He outrightly rejected her without batting an eye.

"No, you can't!"

Fu Juan was surprised her old man rejected her directly, and she wanted to know the reason, so she asked, "Why?"

"You will find out in the future." Grandfather Fu replied.

Fu Juan became curious as she now knew the Old Man had plans for Jia Li. But what kind of plans was it?

Since the reason for her visit was not fruitful, Fu Juan had to leave. On her way out, she met Fu Hee who was about to leave the house.

"Sister-in-law, you're leaving so soon?" Fu Hee asked with a smile.

"Yes." Fu Juan replied.

Fu Hee set up a little get-together with a few of her friends, so it was about time to leave the house.

An hour later, Fu Hua met with her friends who were rich Madams from really big families. They played cards, ate, talked about things in common like their families and children.

Amongst the women gathered, Fu Hee was the most respected because she had the backing of the Fu Family.

As the women chatted, the one named Mrs. Bai, smiled as she said to Fu Hee.

"Fu Hee, we haven't seen each other in a long time, and thanks for giving me a grand welcome." 

"It's nothing at all. I heard your family is trying to relocate back to this city, is it true?" Fu Hee asked.

"Yes. Very soon, we will fix our base back here just like before. I came around because I have few businesses to attend to here." Mrs. Bai said.

"It's alright. Since you will be here for a few days, let's have fun!" Fu Hee said.

Mrs. Bai and Fu Hee were best friends, and the Bai Family used to live in the same city as the Fu's, but they moved to another city to try dominating there and also to try coming out from the shadows of the Fu Family.

But now, it looks like they would be moving back to the city again.

One of the women who had all gold-adorned on her as jewelry, said.

"Enough of you two. We know you two are best friends, but do you really need to rub it in our faces? When the rest of us leave, you two can meet up and have a private chat!" 

"Are you jealous?" Mrs. Bai asked with a smile.

"Who is jealous?" The woman asked with a smile, and the others laughed as well.

When their little meeting ended, Fu Hee decided to meet up to chat with Mrs. Bai privately. They scheduled to meet up the next day for an afternoon tea.

On the afternoon of the next day, Fu Hee and Mrs. Bai were chatting happily in the private room of a restaurant. 

From one topic to another, they two talked and laughed over it. And when the next topic came up, there was a little reminiscing.

"Since those girls traveled together, they don't want to come back home." Mrs. Bai said.

"They are still studying, and they are still young. Allow them to have fun. Those to have been friends since birth and their friendship goals should inspire us." Fu Hee said.

They were both talking about their daughters.

The daughter of the Bai family is friends with Fu Hua's junior sister and they two have been inseparable since birth.

Because of Fu Hee's friendship with Mrs. Bai, the latter used to visit the Fu House often before they relocated, so you could say they are family friends.

The bond of the daughter from the Bai family, and the daughter of the Fu Family were strong, and they decided to travel out together to study.

"These two, I wonder when they will finish school and come back home." Mrs. Bai said with a smile.

"I believe they will be back soon. I miss those girls a lot. They have different personalities, and I still find it a surprise that has been good friends for so long." Fu Hee said.

"It's a good thing for us. How is Fu Hua and YingPei, I haven't sent your sons in years now." Mrs.Bai said.

"They are fine. Currently, Fu Hua is giving me headaches." Fu Hee said with a frown.

"How could such a good son like Fu Hua cause you trouble, you are not serious." Mrs. Bai said as she laughed over it.

"I'm serious, he is a headache to me. He doesn't have a girlfriend, and he is not in the least interested in settling down any time soon." Fu Hee complained.

"Maybe it's because he hasn't found the right person. When he does, he will settle down with her immediately." Mrs. Bai said.

"If I wait for him to settle down on his own, the hairs on my head would have turned white by then. As his mother, it wouldn't be bad for me to choose him. I don't want him to bring any shabby girl home." Fu Hee said with a sigh.

A light shined in Mrs. Bai's eyes. She smiled and quickly added as an idea popped up in her head.

"It's okay. As his mother, you really do have a right to help him pick a wife. Once my daughter comes back in a year and six months, I will hurry her to settle down."

"Why, she is still young. Don't you want to allow her to spend some time with you?." Fu Hee asked in a worried tone. And this was because her friend had only one child, so she felt that she was marrying her out in a hurry.

"She is not too young. She will be 25 years by then. Also, I won't feel lonely by the time she gives birth to a few grandkids for me." Mrs. Bai said with a pleasant look.

"Ah! That's not a bad idea. Before I think of the others, Fu Hua has to get married first, and I will make sure of that."

Their meeting had a happy ending. The two women dispersed and went back to their various locations. 

In the evening of the next day, Feng Alix came over to Fu Hua's apartment. They had already scheduled to meet up a day ago.

Feng Alix said she had something to talk about, so Fu Hua asked her to come over. Right now, the two of them were lying in bed together with the river covering their naked bodies.

"Alix, I want us to get married before the year runs out." Fu Hua said with his gaze elsewhere. He seemed to be lost in thought.

Feng Alix felt overjoyed when she heard him talk about their marriage. That means, he only had her at heart. But then, the reason she wanted to see him today, would really go against his wishes.

Feng Alix fiddled with his fingers and said to him in a soft tone. 

"I really want us to get married soon, but I have a lot of work to do in New York City, and it will last for a year, and I will be leaving in a month." 

"Are you saying that you're moving to New York City for a year?" Fu Hua asked in surprise.

"Yeah, I'm sorry I'm only telling you about it now. I only found out about this from my manager about a week ago, and there was no opportunity to tell you about it until now." Feng Alix said as she gazed into his eyes.

Fu Hua stared at her wordlessly. He didn't see this coming. He was thinking of introducing her to his family and getting married to her before the end of the year. But with all of these, how is it going to be possible?

With his mother nagging him about settling down, he was being to think it was the right to do so.

Seeing him so quiet, Feng Alix hugged his arm and said to placate him.

"Don't worry, A year is not too long. I will be back soon and then, we can announce our relationship to the World, and then, I can meet with your family. Please give me a year."

After what felt like hours of silence, Fu Hua sighed and agreed. Feng Alix was so happy and she showered him with kisses.

Fu Hua had to push her face aside. He was thinking, how he was going to drag this matter till she comes back a year later. He knew his Family will soon start getting on nerves because of his marriage.

Fu Hua and Feng Alix cuddled together, and just like that, a month passed by and it was time for Feng Alix to leave for New York City.

Fu Hua sent her to the Airport and watched her leave before going back to his office...
