Chapter 671: Expert Game Sense

Whether Lu Li knew him or not didn't stop him from being cautious.

If this player really was a professional competitor, any misjudgments could cost him the fight. Deep down, Lu Li still cared about his victory.

Nobody liked losing, and Lu Li was not exception to this rule.

As soon as both parties engaged, Lu Li no longer had any questions. From the way his opponent blocked and the speed at which he did so, Lu Li was sure that he was fighting against a celebrity player, and one of the top ones at that.

Cheap Shot failed!

Lu Li didn't retreat – his opponent would definitely use Charge if he did. If the distance was too short, he had no guarantee that he could dodge a Charge from an expert.

Gouge!

He aimed his Gouge at the forehead of the Warrior and attempted to stun him. Even half a second would be fine. The System wasn't very strict with this skill and even a gentle brush would count it as effective

Unfortunately, the Warrior lifted his arms and blocked the attack.

The daggers only managed to leave a mark on his armor and dealt a few dozen points of damage. For a Warrior class, this damage was nothing at all.

"****!"

After the Warrior successfully dodged the Gouge, he cursed loudly.

The reason was simple – Lu Li's Gouge was only a feint. In the meantime, he had sliced his other dagger across the Warrior's eyes.

Blind!

Most people wouldn't use such a strong control spell like Gouge as a feint.

Within the short one to two seconds of their engagement, Lu Li had already used Premeditation, Cheap Shot, Gouge and Blind, and repositioned himself many times. The Warrior hadn't done much, but his blocking skills were too good. He had used his arm to block the Gouge which looked simple, but was actually a big test of his reaction time. As for the Blind in the end, no one from the crowd could look down on him for not blocking it in time.

"This is a master too!"

The audience was completely absorbed in the match. Apart from in an actual competition, it was a rare opportunity to witness such a good fight.

"It's easy to understand when you're watching the fight, but it's hard to actually pull off these moves."

This was how most of the players felt.

Neither of the two had used any techniques that were too hard for the average player to understand, but none of them hoped to learn these moves just by watching.

Lu Li's Blind wasn't of much use – it only affected the Warrior for half a second before he used his Badge.

However, this half a second was enough for Lu Li to Stealth again.

He didn't engage recklessly this time because he didn't have enough time. Quite a few of his skills were also on cooldown.

The players in the crowd felt sympathetic for him. Some of them thought that he should sneak up on the Warrior now – who knew what could happen?

In their first clash, neither of them lost much health. Lu Li had burned a few skills and had lost the element of surprise. The Warrior hadn't used any skills, apart from his Badge, so Lu Li had the advantage overall.

Because of this advantage, Lu Li wasn't in a rush to engage – the cooldown time of the Badge was quite long.

Thieves were a class that needed patience. It was better to miss an opportunity than to put yourself in danger, especially when you had an advantage.

With his back arched, only two careful eyes appeared from behind the mask of the Warrior.

This wasn't the first time that he had fought against Lu Li; they had already encountered each other in the match grounds. However, it seemed like Lu Li had become even tougher to deal with now.

Before he challenged Lu Li, he thought that he had about a 60% chance of defeating him because of the improvements to his level and equipment. Moreover, Warriors heavily countered Thieves.

However, under the current circumstances, he felt like he only had a 40% chance of winning.

The cooldown time of the Badge was around two minutes, which wasn't an easy time to drag out. The Warrior also knew that Lu Li was hiding around him nearby, waiting for his chance. There was no way that Lu Li would wait until his badge was off cooldown.

Lu Li walked around in another two circles but had to admit that this player really knew how to guard against Thieves. No matter which angle he approached from, this Warrior would be able to respond within the shortest amount of time.

However, there was no way that someone could stay on guard for such an extended period.

This defensive status remained for another minute until the Warrior began to feel like he was losing it. He had to admit that Lu Li was a very patient player; it almost seemed as if he wasn't worried about his cooldown time on the Badge at all.

When the Warrior slightly relaxed, Lu Li was sharp enough to take this chance.

He pounced and stabbed his dagger right into the back of the Warrior's head, perfectly demonstrating what it was like to be as hasty as a rabbit. The audience had already become impatient from the wait and as soon as they saw Lu Li move, they cheered.

The Warrior quickly turned around, but by the time he heard the wind behind his head, it was already too late for him to defend.

Surprisingly, Lu Li's Cheap Shot didn't stun the Warrior – he seemed to have more than a Badge to cancel control effects, which was the same for Lu Li as well. Lu Li had a Badge, Gale Steps, and even some conditional effects like Vanish and his Shadow Cloak.

Kidney Strike!

Although Cheap Shot didn't stun the Warrior, it still provided the combo points that Lu Li needed.

He had only stocked up on two combo points, but the Voodoo set provided him with another one. This was a perfect total of five combo points and his Kidney Strike was used at the perfect timing.

Lu Li never thought that his Cheap Shot would Stun the Warrior.

No matter how few skills Warriors had, they would at least have two spells that cancelled.

The Warrior was Stunned and stood blankly on the spot.

Lu Li casually moved behind him and attacked in a flurry. He stacked on his crowd-control and the Warrior was immobilized for around 8 seconds.

As expected from a Warrior, he still stood there on the spot with half of his health remaining. If he was a Cloth-gear class, he would've already died.

"Come back! Kill him!" the Warriors in the audience seats shouted.

In the arena, factions weren't so important – it was the classes that divided the players. Although they couldn't tell who he was, he was still a Warrior.

Lu Li stepped back and went into Stealth mode.

Almost at the same instant, the Warrior snapped out of being Stunned. He almost ran in the same direction that Lu Li had disappeared in and casted Whirlwind.

Lu Li was knocked out of Stealth and took two hits of 200 damage each.

Gale Steps!

Not only did this skill allow Lu Li to forcefully enter Stealth, but it also came with an extra movement speed boost which allowed him to successfully escape from the Warrior's Whirlwind.
