Chapter 1401: Struggle Of The Trapped Beast (4)
Shen Yanxiao’s heart sank. She had already heard the determination in Vermillion Bird’s tone.
Now that she was already aware of the strength of the other party, Shen Yanxiao could only pray that Taotie would
not be able to break out from the cage of the elves.
Soon, Shen Yanxiao had arrived at the dungeon in the depths of the palace along with the other Silvermoon Guard
elves.
There was an extremely huge cage, hundreds of meters deep into the ground.
Each and every one of the iron bars that was thicker than the waist of an adult man was covered with the luster of
enchanted inscriptions. The tens of thousands of enchanted iron bars had created the most powerful cage. Ten or so
white-haired, elderly elves in white robes were holding a special inscription brush, constantly writing a dense script
on the ground around the cage.
“Roar!”
A deafening roar came again from the cage, and the crystal lamp hanging from the top of the cage was crumbling
under the powerful shock wave.
Flames swayed gently and illuminated the behemoth inside the cage!
The behemoth’s gigantic body was similar to a mountain range, with pitch-black scales covering its entire body, and
its pair of red eyes were brimming with greed.
Truly a huge monster!
In this dungeon, which was already several hundred of meters in height, Taotie could only lie with his four limbs on
the ground. One could imagine how huge he would be when he stood up!
In the mouth of this giant beast, there were six pairs of fangs that seemed as though they could tear everything apart
in an instant.
An iron chain densely covered with inscriptions, which were simply too numerable to be counted, was strewn across
Taotie’s body.
Shen Yanxiao was greatly astonished at the sight of this Holy Beast in front of her. Even though he was shackled,
the impact he brought about was absolutely only one-of-a-kind.
“So this is Taotie…” Shen Yanxiao was astounded. In the face of such a giant monster, she finally understood where
the words of Vermillion Bird came from.
Taotie was just lying there, yet it was already a few times larger than Black Tortoise, the largest beast of The Rising
Sun City.
“Little Xiao, do you know it?” An Ran swallowed his saliva. Watching the ferocious-looking Taotie, he could not
help but tremble all over.
Just how huge was this creature!
How many enchanted inscriptions were needed in order to suppress it? If it were replaced by another magical beast,
she feared that under the pressure of so many enchantments, that beast would have already been rendered weak and
powerless. How could this beast still let out such a terrifying roar?
“I’ve heard of it.” Shen Yanxiao nodded her head.
The group of Enchanters did not dare to stop writing inscriptions even for just a second. Beans of clear sweat were
already dripping from their foreheads, but they had no time to wipe them.
Hundreds of Silvermoon Guard elves stood by with solemn expressions, raising their bows, putting an arrow on
them, and drawing back the bowstrings while pointing toward Taotie inside the cage.
The heart of every elf was hanging in their throat.
They all knew that once the power of enchantment became incapable of suppressing Taotie, they would instantly
become the food of this greedy behemoth.
There was simply no room for a struggle
Throughout the whole dungeon, only Taotie’s roars could be heard, and all the elves pressed their mouth tight and
solemnly stood in place.
Whether they could keep their lives or they would meet their deaths here depended on the inscriptions of these
Enchanters!
The constantly increasing power of the enchantment had shortened the iron chain on Taotie’s body by an inch. Like
the peak of a mountain being pushed down, his head dropped to the ground, and then lightning-like golden rays
surrounded Taotie’s entire body.
The sound of the explosion was deafening, and the lightning ray that struck Taotie’s tough scales left his body a
more blackened trace.
After nearly an hour, Taotie’s restlessness gradually subsided. He was no longer angered, and no longer trying to
struggle free of the restriction, but was quietly kneeling on the ground, staring at the elves standing in front of him
and watching himself with his pair of red-eyes.
