“Don’t get anxious, Sir Ren and Your Majesty, I’m not done yet…” Librarian Lin continued speaking unhurriedly. “I have actually modified this technique and gave it two practice methods. Ren Baqian and the empress immediately stared at Librarian Lin with murderous looks. Why didn’t she say that there was another method? Was she deliberately toying with them?

“Now that it’s finally quiet, let’s go ahead with the first method,” the empress said as she brushed a layer of ice off her face.

She had made up her mind and was bent on finding six ladies who would make him wish he was dead upon first sight. She definitely wouldn’t let him get away with it that easily.

Ren Baqian felt confused and disoriented since he flew for quite a distance before smashing into a rooftop and falling through.

“My back is breaking!” Ren Baqian gasped for air with his mouth wide open before noticing that someone was watching him.

That person was watching him from inside a tub.

“Taking a bath?” Ren Baqian forced a good-natured smile.

“Yes!” Xin Zhe sat in the tub with a cold look on her face. Her neck and shoulders were exposed outside the tub, and she had loosened her hair.

“Her Majesty threw me over!” Ren Baqian pondered for a bit before responding on a serious note. He really couldn’t afford to take the blame for this.

“I guessed as much!” Xin Zhe continued staring at him with that cold look.

“You live in the palace? I never knew that.” As Ren Baqian lay on the ground, he took a look around. The entire place was very simply decorated, and there was a blade hung up on the wall. However, he saw a few cute little ornaments in the room. He felt that this might be where Xin Zhe lived.

“I have a residence in the city, but I spend most of my leisure time here. It’s a concession granted by Her Majesty.”

“Okay.” Ren Baqian nodded.

After seeing that he wasn’t even trying to stand up, Xin Zhe continued to give him that cold look and asked, “You aren’t leaving?”

“My back is injured—I need to recuperate for a moment!” Ren Baqian replied, gasping for air.

“I’m done bathing! I’m leaving!” Xin Zhe stood up from the tub and caused water to splash all over. She took a step out, grabbed a towel, and wiped herself dry. She then put on her singlet and safety shorts followed by her armor.

Ren Baqian didn’t even bat an eyelid as he watched that bouncing pair of double D’s …

After all, nobody wore clothes to bathe in their own house.

Xin Zhe didn’t try to cover herself up either. She didn’t seem to find any problem with this.

“Don’t touch anything in the room,” Xin Zhe turned her head and said to Ren Baqian after she put on her armor.

“I understand. Take care,” Ren Baqian responded as he watched her leave the room.

He lay on the floor and looked at that large hole in the ceiling. He took a whiff of the fragrance that still lingered in the room and heaved a sigh.

“Such is life!”

He lay there for some time before holding his waist and standing up. He walked around the room and saw that it was decorated with mostly wood carved ornaments. There was a black-faced guy and two monkeys that looked extremely lifelike. He didn’t expect Xin Zhe to actually like such things.

He then slowly walked over to the empress’s quarters. She was already there waiting for him.

“Your Majesty, I remember you saying that you wanted to visit your mother’s grave,” Ren Baqian said.

“It’s about time that I pay her a visit.” The empress had a cold look on her face and didn’t seem too happy.

Or rather, it was very evident from her expression that she was unhappy.

“Let me accompany you there. We can also take this opportunity to visit that Earth Yin Spring. If possible, I still really want to give it a shot.
