The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 1006 - Greenhorns

"I am not going to lie it will be very dangerous. You have to hold on to your memories and everything else that you find precious because otherwise, it will be very easy to get lost."

The tone of Jin Wang's voice became serious and his expression grim to clearly convey the true gravity of the situation.

"It will feel like weeks or months have gone by in a matter of minutes. If you doubt yourself for even a single moment you won't be able to tell what's real and what isn't. You will meet people and visit places that will make you believe that's the reality and only you can save yourself. I have only ever seen something like this once before and..."

His voice trailed off as long-forgotten memories resurfaced but Ma Jiang stepped in and asked the obvious.

"And what? What happened then?"

While answering he met Princess Ceni's gaze looking for any sign of uncertainty or reluctance because that would only lead to more harm than good.

"The last time something like this happened both the victim of the curse and his would-be savior were lost. Neither made it out and their minds were left to forever wander the deepest pits of their psyche...they went mad is what I mean, completely lost their minds, hahaha."

He tried to end it on a joke but none of the other two found it funny.

Jin Wang smiled towards Princess Ceni, most definitely impressed by the outcome.

"I was looking for any signs of hesitation but there were none. That's good, very good. Most often the simplest spells are the most dangerous. This one for example requires one very important thing from you, confidence and unquestionable faith and convictions in yourself and your abilities. As long as you hold onto those you will be fine."

Princess Ceni's eyes shone with a new light of hope. If she wasn't confident in her abilities and believe in herself she would have never made it this far. Leaving home under false pretenses, being in league with a shady underworld organization and even risking her life and freedom couldn't be done if there was any doubt.

'If that really is the most important thing then I have nothing to worry about!' she smirked proudly.

Jin Wang nodded upon seeing her reaction. Ignorance most definitely was bliss, especially in this case.

He opted to keep the little tidbit to himself that the curse he was talking about was cast by a 6th circle mage whereas this one was most definitely cast by a True God or one of their apostles.

It was like comparing stopping a bullet from a handgun to a projectile shot from a railgun. The basic idea behind them was the same but the chances of success were vastly different.

He then turned to face Ma Jiang.

"And you little miss. Your job is much easier and relatively safer. All you have to do is divide your mana into 120 different yet completely identical streams while the formation disc I give you does all the work. You will be keeping their bodies and souls intact as well as sealing all the excess Qi back into Hao Xuan's body."

Ma Jiang blinked a few times, her mind completely blank.

"Y-You want me to do what?"

"Divide your mana 120 times, it's very simple."

"Simple?"

Ma Jiang leaned over and peered towards Princess Ceni who was just as stupefied as her.

"You're...joking...right?"

Jin Wang frowned, "Of course not, why are you saying that?"

He didn't realize since technically his soul had reached such a level where pulling something like that wasn't a problem but to these greenhorns it was asking for the impossible.

To divide ones mana or energy into different streams required a lot of mental fortitude and years of experience. Asking Ma Jiang to divide her mana 120 times was akin to asking her to read 120 completely different books all at once.

It was completely impossible for an ordinary person but even for magicians who could pull something like that off with the help of other instruments and quite often needed to do multiple tasks at once would never be able to do it to this extent.

She simply did not have the experience or the ability to pull it off.

"I-I can't! Are you crazy?! The most I can do is thirteen different streams and even then I would need to be in a completely peaceful and silent environment! This is too much pressure I can't- I can't-"

Ma Jiang's breathing became uneven as she began to hyperventilate just thinking about it. She stumbled back and almost fell on her behind but to Jin Wang's surprise, Princess Ceni swiftly caught her.

"Breathe slowly, deep breaths, in and out. There's nothing to be afraid of. Let's just calm down..."

It looked like a mother calming down her young daughter since Princess Ceni looked too mature for her age and Ma Jiang too young.

Jin Want waited a couple of minutes until Ma Jiang was stable enough before continuing.

"As I was saying, I will make a special formation disc that will help you do that. It is very easy and since you have such a high nature affinity it won't be any trouble. Plus I will be right there with you guiding through th-"
