Chapter 125 - 125 She Was Enthralled At That Moment
125 She Was Enthralled At That Moment
“I’m serious,” Xie Heng reiterated his point, as though he was afraid that Zhao Chuchu wouldn’t believe him.
Zhao Chuchu glanced at him. Did he take all the points on EQ and shift them to his looks and IQ instead?
Fortunately, God favored him and gave him a good-looking face. Otherwise, he would definitely be alone for the rest of his life.
“Whether someone is slim or plump, there’s something good about every body type. But, brother, you can’t say that Sis looks like a skeleton. She’s being very nice by not beating you to death.” Xie Jun despised the way Xie Heng spoke. He looked toward Zhao Chuchu with his cheeks puffed up and said, “Sis is the most beautiful person. No other arguments are accepted.”
Every woman likes to be complimented, even if it’s by a child.
“Children speak the most truthful words. Da Lang, I’m being very nice by not beating you to death,” Zhao Chuchu said a little angrily.
Xie Heng was being attacked. He touched his nose and stopped speaking.
“Brother, girls all like to listen to nice words. You can’t speak to Sis like this. No one in the village looks better than Sis,” Xie Jun reprimanded Xie Heng like a little adult.
Xie Heng was speechless.
Zhao Chuchu laughed heartily.
After the meal, Xie Heng didn’t need Zhao Chuchu to wash the dishes.
After Xie Jun fell asleep, Zhao Chuchu took out a torchlight and herbs to make medicine for external injuries.
After showering, Xie Heng came out of the bathroom and saw light coming from the room. His expression immediately changed. He thought something had happened to Zhao Chuchu.
He ran over at the fastest possible pace. When he entered the room, he saw Zhao Chuchu preparing the herbs, and a bright light came from the long cylinder on the table.
When she heard his footsteps, Zhao Chuchu raised her head to look at Xie Heng.
“What’s this?” Xie Heng pointed at the torchlight, asking Zhao Chuchu. “It’s so bright.”
“I brought it out from my hometown. Here, take one, so you don’t need to use oil lamps for studying at night. Those are bad for your eyes.” Zhao Chuchu grabbed another one and passed it to Xie Heng. She then taught him how to use it. “Just press this button here. If you feel that it’s getting darker, open up this cover, then plug it in and put it under the sun.”
It was a solar-powered rechargeable torchlight. Zhao Chuchu passed a solar-powered charger to Xie Heng as well.
Xie Heng’s face was filled with a curious expression. “What is this thing made of? It’s amazing. Can this little cube store sunlight?”
“Yeah, in a way. But remember to keep it away from fire. Otherwise, it might explode.”
“Explode?”
“Like a firecracker. But the explosion is a lot more powerful than firecrackers. It could kill you if you’re not careful.”
Xie Heng nodded and remembered what Zhao Chuchu had said.
This thing lights the room up like daylight at night. It is really great.
“Thank you,” he said sincerely.
“You’re welcome.”
“Do you need help with anything?”
“Help me mash this up.”
Zhao Chuchu wasn’t overly polite to Xie Heng. She pointed to a small pile of herbs and told Xie Heng to mash it up with the mortar and pestle.
Xie Heng sat on the opposite side of Zhao Chuchu and started mashing up the herbs.
Neither of them spoke. The only sound left in the room was that of them mashing up the herbs. Despite that, the atmosphere wasn’t awkward at all.
After quite a while, Xie Heng asked, “What are you making?”
“An ointment.”
“Are you going to cook it later?”
“I’ll cook it tomorrow. I don’t want to stay up late.”
“I can help you.”
Zhao Chuchu raised her head and looked at him. The young man looked exceptionally handsome—his lips were red, and his teeth were white like jade. He wore nothing but a thin bathrobe. The robe was slightly ajar under his long, slim neck. The muscles that were usually covered up tightly could vaguely be seen. He looked like a budding flower—a flower that Zhao Chuchu couldn’t help but want to pick.
Despite having gotten used to seeing handsome guys in her past life, Zhao Chuchu had to admit that she was enthralled by him at that moment.
Perhaps because Zhao Chuchu’s gaze was too straightforward, Xie Heng noticed it. He lowered his head to glance down. Immediately, his face heated up a little.
He pretended as though nothing had happened and tidied up his robes a little, then continued to mash up the herbs. He looked extremely calm, but his heart was palpitating vigorously.
Zhao Chuchu felt rather regretful, and she should have whistled just now to tease Xie Heng.
When Zhao Chuchu imagined Xie Heng’s face turning all red from embarrassment, she felt like she should have done it.
She wasn’t a thirsty animal, but everyone desires beauty.
He is so good-looking. If she didn’t appreciate his beauty, could she still be considered human?
“You’re still growing, don’t stay up late. Otherwise, you won’t be able to grow tall,” Zhao Chuchu said, as though she was an elder. She continued earnestly, “This applies to studying as well. You must go to sleep before 11 o’clock. Burning the midnight oil will cause you to become unenergetic, deteriorate your memory, and, most importantly, it will make you uglier!”
“The last part is the most important point?” Xie Heng raised his head and asked teasingly.
He thought he would be able to see Zhao Chuchu get embarrassed.
He didn’t expect Zhao Chuchu to nod and say, “Yeah, looking good is very important. That’s why I don’t stay up late.”
Xie Heng didn’t know what to say.
This girl never does what other people expect.
He had never seen a girl as daring as her. She complimented a man’s looks openly and even stared at him without hiding her gaze. Yet, her gaze wasn’t perverted. It didn’t make him feel that she was frivolous or slutty.
“Da Lang, you have such nice skin. You must take good care of it. It would be awful if you grew pimples.”
“Pimples?”
“The stuff on Fugui’s face.”
Xie Heng thought about it. He had never had those before.
“I won’t.”
“It’s fine even if you do. I know how to treat them.”
Of course, it’s best if he doesn’t grow them.
Skin is only perfect when there are no flaws.
Xie Heng was speechless once again.
There’s something very wrong about discussing his face with a woman in the middle of the night.
Seeing that the herbs were done being mashed up, Xie Heng shifted the topic of the conversation and asked, “Anything else that we need to do?”
Zhao Chuchu looked at those herbs and said, “Nothing. You can go read a book and sleep. Oh, right, don’t use the torchlight under a blanket. It will deteriorate your eyesight.”
“Okay.” Xie Heng picked up the torchlight calmly and returned to the room.
The moment he returned to the room, Xie Heng’s attention was fixated on the torchlight.
He had never seen anything this amazing before.
Zhao Chuchu just gave it to him like that.
He pondered for a long while, then walked to the bookshelf. He moved the bookshelf away to reveal a hole that was just big enough for one person to enter.
He walked down with the torchlight.
This was a secret space that was about half the size of his room.
Under the intense illumination of the torchlight, brilliant lights were reflected from the jewelry inside.
That’s right. Jewelry, gemstones, and precious metals were piled across this secret room.
Never in her wildest dreams had Zhao Chuchu imagined that not only was Xie Heng not poor, but he was also wealthy!
Xie Heng squatted on the ground and started choosing carefully.
The next day, before Zhao Chuchu even woke up, Xie Heng had already prepared breakfast.
Xie Jun wanted to knock on the door to wake Zhao Chuchu, but Xie Heng stopped him. “Let her sleep. She was tired from saving people yesterday.”
“Brother, why do you sleep in separate rooms with Sis? When can I become an uncle at this rate?” Xie Jun said in a dissatisfied tone. “Last time, Sis ignored you. But now, Sis treats you so well. So why are you still doing this? Do you dislike Sis?”
Xie Heng felt the veins on his forehead popping. “Nonsense!”
“All those people who get married sleep together in the same room, yet you and Sis sleep in rooms on opposite ends of the house. You’re further from her than I am! Brother, if you continue doing this, you’re going to lose Sis,” Xie Jun said, feeling somewhat disappointed in his brother.
