Chapter 84 - Meeting Yao Tang
Chapter 84 Meeting Yao Tang
At noon.
Yao Tang went out to the school gates to pick up a package and carried it back to the dormitory.
Her roommates hadn’t returned yet, so the place was relatively quiet.
She opened the package, which contained a set of red clothes. The fabric was made of thin gauze, which was purposely tattered here and there to make it look like it had been kissed by flames. Even so, the whole ensemble was undeniably beautiful and decidedly unique.
As if on cue, her phone beeped. A WeChat message had come in: “How do you like the dress? Are you satisfied with it?”
As soon as she had signed for the parcel, the sender had received a notification telling them that the item had reached its destination. As expected, they immediately contacted her to ask after the dress.
Yao Tang’s slender fingers typed a lazy reply: “Yes.”
“That dress is the fruit of a week’s hard work. We all chipped in to create a masterpiece, and I guarantee that you will look stunning in it. Remember to take a photo for us!” Yao Tang chuckled softly under her breath. “Got it.”
“All right, then. I won’t bother you anymore.”
Yao Tang put her phone away and was about to try the clothes on when the door to the room opened.
She quickly threw the garments over to her bunk.
Lin Xin walked in withShen Huan.
“Here, I brought you something to eat,” Lin Xinsaid, placing a lunchbox on the table. She opened the lid and went to rinse a spoon. “It’s egg-wrapped rice. You should eat before it gets
cold.”
Yao Tang nonchalantly pushed the dress’ box to the side before walking over to the table.
The empty box caught Shen Huan’s eye. “What did you buy,Yao Tang? The packaging looks gorgeous.”
It was a black box with a gold imprint of a lone flamingo on top. It gave a mysterious vibe to the parcel, on top of it its exquisite and luxurious appearance. Yao Tang took the spoon fromLin Xinbefore answering. “Just clothes. You can take the box if you like it so much.”
Shen Huan liked to collect beautiful things, so he was quite happy with what she said. “Really? Thank you! I appreciate it.”
Yao Tang smiled, but her natural wicked streak still glinted in her eyes.
When Friday afternoon rolled around, Yao TangaskedXi Yanfor a leave of absence. She packed her essentials in her backpack and walked out of the school gates.
She had on her usual black hoodie and black cap, and like always, she turned heads wherever she went.
She stood at the curb and hailed a taxi. “To the airport, please.” Her phone beeped as she settled in the backseat.
It was a message from Sheng Xian: “Boss, what time is your flight?”
She curled up in her seat and replied: “10 P.M.”
On the other side, Sheng Xian jumped into his agency’s van and drove to the airport. His new music video would be shot at the Beijing Film and Television City. He was overseas for another project at the moment, so he needed to rush back as well.
Sheng Xian leaned back against his seat and typed: “Do you need someone to pick you up from the airport.” “No need.”
Sheng Ting raised his eyebrows at that. He wanted to ask where she planned to stay, but decided against it in the end. “All right. I’ll see you at the studio tomorrow.”
Hours later, Yao Tangemerged from Beijing airport, her cap tucked low over her head. She strode to the taxi lane to wait for a cab.
“Brother Cheng, look and see if I’m not mistaken. That person is Yao Tang, isn’t it?” Qin Hao was here to pick up Cheng Yan, and his eyes just happened to land on a familiar figure. She shouldn’t be here, should she?
With them in the car was He Du, who immediately perked up and craned his neck to get a good look. So thisYao Tanggirl was also here?
Qin Hao had been talking about her incessantly, which, of course, arousedHe Du’s curiosity. At last, he got to see the girl for himself. Sure enough, the girl had a perfect figure, tall and slender, and her demeanor was definitely eye-catching. Her face, especially, was particularly arresting.
Cheng Yan had been pressing against his close eyelids to relieve some of his stress. He opened them now, his dark gaze deepening when he recognizedYao Tang. “Drive the car over.”
A black car approached Yao Tangand stopped beside her.
She paused and raised her cold, indifferent eyes.
The window rolled down, and then Cheng Yan’s gorgeous face appeared before her.
“Get in the car,” he said, his voice sounding a little weary.
Yao Tang raised an eyebrow, but she complied. “Hotel W, please,” she threw in casually as she got in the backseat. “Thanks.”
Qin Hao burst out laughing behind the steering wheel. “I say,Yao Tang, are you treating us like your personal chauffeurs now?”
She said nothing and just looked out the window.
Cheng Yan hadn’t seen her in almost two weeks. Now that she was within reach, his fingers began to itch. He momentarily forgot about his exhaustion. “What are you doing here? Do you need something in Beijing?”
“Yeah,” she mumbled as she replied to a message on her phone. Thanks to the anti-prying film she had installed, her screen was pitch-black from Cheng Yan’s perspective. With that out of the question, his eyes inadvertently crept up to her face, pausing on her neck.
The hoodie she was wearing today was slightly oversized, which exposed a bit of her collarbone when she sat back like this.
For some reason, he found that tiny patch of skin fare more seductive than if a woman had stripped fully nude in front of him.
Cheng Yan averted his eyes. Despite his desires, he was still a gentleman. “Have you eaten yet?!
Yao Tang looked up and tucked her phone inside her pocket. “Not yet, shall we have a meal together?”
Cheng Yan froze for a second, surprised that she had taken the initiative. He flashed her a satisfied smile. “What would you like to eat?”
