The Bigshot Shocks The World When She Backs Home

Chapter 168 - The Scapegoat

Chapter 168: The Scapegoat

Qin Jing walked up to the young man and stared down at him. “Zhou Kai, were you the one who sent Yao Ranthe questions?”

“L–last Wednesday, school cafeteria.”

Zhou Kai stammered out, not really knowing what else to say. Everyone simply furrowed their eyebrows in complete confusion.

Meng Yang kicked him in the ribs. “Answer her properly!”

His body shrank back, and his mouth was sealed tightly shut.

If he said anything, he’d pull Yao Ran in.

He mustn’t let anyone know that Yao Ran was the one who had asked him about the test questions. Perhaps, he could say that he was the one who had given them and she knew nothing about it.

“Don’t blame Ranran, it’s all my fault.” He closed his eyes.

“A few days before the exam, I heard from one of my classmates that Ranran has always been the last one to leave in the past few days. She had been preparing for this exam for a long time.”

“I absolutely couldn’t bear it. That’s why I asked Ranran out–even sent her some snacks to brighten up her mood.” He hesitated a bit before saying, “I even emailed her the answer key in hopes that it could calm her, but she didn’t open them. It’s my fault. I–I’m sorry.”

He looked up at Principal Kong. “I’m sorry. If there’s someone who should be punished, it’s me.”

He admitted to his wrongdoings, plain and simple. Not only did he do this, but he even left her out of it.

Yao Ran’s eyes widened.

She slowly relaxed, and her heartbeat slowed down.

“Since you already know that you’re in the wrong, why do you keep sending all these files?” Luo Hua snapped. “Are you trying to persuade her to cheat? You–you bastard!”

“I’m sorry!”

Zhou Kai continued to apologize with his head bowed down. Even Xi Yancouldn’t help but feel sorry for the young boy. She sighed.

Meng Yang, however, wasn’t satisfied with his response. This matter wasn’t as simple as Zhou Kai had put it. How could it be that Yao Ranhad nothing to do with all of this?

He wasn’t going to let her get away with anything!

“You called her before the meeting. Yao Ran must’ve wanted the test paper since she met with you right after, right?” Meng Yangglanced at the screen.

His sharp gaze then fell on Zhou Kai’s shocked face.

Meng Yang was right. She had actually called him bout the test that day.

But it wasn’t like he was going to say it outright!

“That day, when I heard about Ranran running out of Class 20 crying, I decided to make a phone call,” he quickly responded. “I really just wanted to comfort her.”

It was the same day Yao Ran had come to persuade Yao Tangin coming home.

She really had cried then.

His story matched.

“That day, I was trying to persuade Yao Tang to come home.” Yao Ranrubbed her eyes. “My parents missed her so much, and I don’t want to live like…like…”

Her words were enough to make everyone pity her.

Yao Ran had truly cried that time, that everyone had assumed that she was being bullied by the students from Class 20.

She sniffled.

Luo Hua fixed his gaze on Yao Tang. How could his favorite student suffer from this bullying? He clenched his fists. How could she do something like this?

Ever since she came here, she had caused nothing but trouble.

In the past, Class 20 only had Meng Yang troubling the entire school campus. Now, they had Yao Tangand Qin Jing–both students who had wreaked havoc in the school since they arrived.

No matter how great their grades are, they still were menaces to society.

Luo Hua pursed his lips.

“Sister, please.” Yao Ran’s bottom lip trembled as she stared at Yao Tang.

Qin Jing could only watch, her eyes narrowed at the sight.

Ergh! This Yao Ran was really a hypocrite.

“You have no idea how worried Mom and Dad are after you left. They’re afraid that you weren’t eating right or at least sleeping right,” she stuttered. “They didn’t want to let Second Uncle’s Family down.”

“If you just come back, we wouldn’t bring up the past. Never again. We’re just worried about you, that’s all.”

“Just come back, please. Mom said that she wanted to apologize for last time,” she quickly said. “She really didn’t mean it. Please forgive her.”
