Chapter 163 - An Interesting Email
Chapter 163: An Interesting Email
Luo Hua pretended to cough – anything to veer away from her cold eyes.
“Are you saying I cheated?” Yao Tang finally spoke after what seemed to be hours of silence. “And you can go with that assumption through that nonexistent test paper you’re holding?”
Despite being a few inches shorter than the teacher, there was something about her voice that made her even more powerful than any person standing in the classroom.
She had such a strong stage presence. Everywhere she went, everyone would look at her as if she was a goddess amongst the mortals.
Even then, Luo Hua still refused to be undone. “The test paper I just found is an identical copy of the long examination we have just taken. You’ve obviously gotten this in advance,” he snapped.
“Then why would I even have this? Perhaps my dear sister has an idea how this examination came about?” Yao Tang turned her head to the girl at the corner of the room.
Yao Ran stiffened. “Don’t drag me into this,” she said. “You were the one who was caught cheating in the examination.”
She glanced around at the suspicious gazes of her batchmates, taking a deep breath. As long as she didn’t say anything, no one else would know what she had done.
So what if they suspected her?
Without evidence, they wouldn’t be able to accuse her of anything.
However, upon glancing at Yao Tang’s cold gaze, she couldn’t help but feel that there was something that she still wasn’t aware of. Despite this, she held her ground.
“Don’t shift the blame onto Ranran,” Luo Hua snapped, slamming his hands onto the desk once again. “How dare you drag people into this when you were already caught red-handed?”
It was useless for her to deny it!
Yao Tang simply rolled her eyes in response and turned to Yao Ran. “You don’t believe me?”
Her voice was casual, as if she were simply talking about the weather.
Cheating was a heavy accusation, yet Yao Tang didn’t seem that bothered by it. She still continued to stand tall, even glancing at her nails from time to time, much to Luo Hua’s anger. Did she really not care?
Or was she that confident in her abilities?
Yao Ran’s gaze deepened even further, but she didn’t say a word.
At the sight, a small smile slipped into Yao Tang’s lips.
Meng Yang, who was standing right beside her, relaxed almost immediately.
That smile meant she knew something!
Ah, Yao Ran was definitely going to get it!
Meng Yang leaned against one of the tables, glancing at Yao Ran’s stiff posture. He slowly smirked. Let’s see how Yao Ranwould deal with this matter. Oh well, she had brought it on to herself.
Luo Hua exhaled. If she still didn’t want to admit to anything, then it didn’t matter. That meant he was allowed to bring this all the way up to Principal Kong.
Back then, it was the Principal who had decided to recruit her.
Now that she had gotten herself into such a major offense, it was only natural for him to inform the Principal. And as for what would happen next, well, it was going to be his lucky day!
Yao Ran’s hand drifted to her pockets, to where her phone was hidden. There was evidence on her phone.
Yao Tang was very adept in technology. However, Yao Ranwas confident that she wouldn’t even find a single piece of evidence in any of her accounts. She took a deep breath and tilted her head.
This time, she was cautious.
Yao Ran had hired people to utilize encryption technology in sending the contents of the test paper to her email.
What she didn’t expect was for Yao Tang to take out her phone and look up at them – looking like a woman who had outsmarted the world. “Is this the evidence you want?”
She stretched out her hand to showcase her phone. Her phone screen glinted under the artificial light, but everyone could see it.
The screen showed Yao Ran’s countless emails before it later zoomed in to one special email with an attachment.
The attachment contained the identical answer key that Yao Tang had!
“What?” Yao Ran’s eyes flashed with panic. However, within seconds, it was already gone. “I haven’t used this email address for a long time. I didn’t even know it was there in the first place!”
“If you don’t believe me, then log into your email. You’ll find examination materials even from a long time ago!”
She tried hard to explain.
“Oh really?” Meng Yang cocked up an eyebrow. “But who cares if you haven’t opened it for a long time? You have it, don’t you? Like how no one bothers investigating the paper in the book. Just seeing the answers equals cheating, right? Or are these double standards I hear?”
“No!” she hurriedly explained. Her face contorted into that confusion and helplessness as she met their suspicious gazes. “I’m not even accusing her of anything, and besides, it’s been a long time since I’ve opened my email – maybe someone had sent it to me by mistake!”
Even yet, that didn’t seem like a good excuse. Despite this, Luo Hua felt doubtful of the entire situation.
“Yao Tang, did you hack this account to frame Ranran?” Luo Hua’s gaze hardened.
