"Sister-in-law, you at least need to tell me whether you prefer a Chinese or Western style, or a blend of both?"
"Actually, I don’t know. Dan Dan, you have more experience, just go with your ideas. It doesn’t need to be too grand, something simple will do," Liao Xinyue said softly, a hint of sadness flashing in her eyes.
"Oh! Then I understand, sister-in-law, just rest assured! Leave it to me," Jian Dan said, noticing the sadness in Liao Xinyue’s eyes and chose not to pursue it further.
"Alright, I’m going to help Granny make dinner," Liao Xinyue said with a smile as she walked into the kitchen.
Jian Dan watched Liao Xinyue’s back and fell into deep thought.
"Jian Jian, what are you thinking about?" Chu Liyuan walked up behind Jian Dan and hugged her from behind.
"I’m thinking!"
"Thinking? Thinking about what?"
"I feel like whenever the wedding is mentioned, sister-in-law doesn’t seem very happy. Does she not want to marry my brother?" Jian Dan asked curiously, furrowing her brows slightly.
"Of course, she likes him, but..."
"But what?" Jian Dan got a bit excited, her eyes filled with anticipation as she looked at Chu Liyuan.
Chu Liyuan smirked, "Jian Jian, do you know how long it’s been since you looked at me with that kind of gaze?"
"Uncle, what are you talking about? I’m being serious!" Jian Dan’s cheeks turned red as she lightly punched Chu Liyuan’s chest.
"Jian Jian, want to know the reason? If you kiss me, I’ll tell you," he said, leaning his cheek closer to Jian Dan.
Jian Dan’s lips curved into a slight smile. She pouted her lips, stood on tiptoe, and slowly leaned towards Chu Liyuan’s cheek. Just as she was about to touch it, Chu Liyuan suddenly changed direction, and Jian Dan’s lips landed on his.
"Uncle, you did that on purpose!" Jian Dan pouted as she looked at Chu Liyuan.
"I did do it on purpose. Jian Jian, have you forgotten how long it’s been since you kissed me on your own? While you’re worrying about others, you can’t forget about your husband!"
"How could I?" Jian Dan explained anxiously, "How could I possibly forget about you, Uncle?"
"Really? I don’t know who it was before that forgot about me, claiming to be someone else’s fiancée," Chu Liyuan teased, bringing up old stories childishly.
"Uncle, why are you bringing up old stories? That was so long ago, and it wasn’t even my fault," Jian Dan said a bit aggrieved.
"No choice, to prevent such things from happening again, I can only occasionally remind our little Jian Jian by bringing up old stories."
"Uncle, you’re really getting more childlike," Jian Dan remarked.
"Isn’t it just right, so that when competing for affection with the kids, I have a better chance!" How even his way of acting coy was so charming, Chu Liyuan thought.

"You can ask Xiaokai about this, maybe he can help you!" Chu Liyuan said with a smile.
"Xiaokai? Really? I’ll go ask him now." With that, Jian Dan took off running.
