Chapter 1609 "Picnic?
Chapter 1609: Chapter 1609 "Picnic?
"Jian Xiaokai, don’t you think waiting around like this is a bit boring?" Jian Dan suddenly spoke up.
Jian Xiaokai immediately understood, sighed, then jumped down from the flower bed, "Wait here!"
"Okay!"
Li Mu watched Jian Xiaokai run off and puzzlingly asked, "Where’s Chu Xiaokai going?"
"Of course, he’s going to buy us some snacks," Xiaoxin answered directly, cutting off Jian Dan.
"Huh?" Li Mu looked surprised at both of them.
At a time like this, there’s still a mood for eating?
He was almost worried to death; if the chubby kid’s mom really comes, if things aren’t settled, they might really get expelled.
He couldn’t care less about getting expelled himself, but he didn’t want Chu Xiaoxin and Chu Xiaokai to be expelled too.
"How about you guys leave first? I’ll take responsibility for today’s incident!" Li Mu suddenly said.
"Leave? How could we? Li Mu, have you underestimated the situation? As long as they’re still in this school, leaving isn’t an option. I’ll definitely have my mom deal with you guys." The chubby kid, still sitting on the ground, spoke viciously.
"Didn’t expect you to be quite righteous?" Jian Dan paid no mind to the chubby kid’s words; instead, he looked at Li Mu with a new appreciation, "Your name is Li Mu?"
"Yes!" Li Mu lowered his head, feeling shy.
"Do you know that in ancient times, there was a Great General named Li Mu?"
"Huh?"
"Since you share his name, even if you’re not a Great General like him, you shouldn’t let others insult you!"
"But I’m part of the socially concerned group!" Li Mu spoke softly.
"So what?
Understand that while birth can be categorized in rankings, people shouldn’t be.
Everyone can strive for what they want through their efforts, don’t let your origins limit you, got it?"
Li Mu looked into Jian Dan’s eyes; he realized that he’d never thought of things this way before.
While Li Mu stood there, lost in thought, Jian Xiaokai had already returned with the snacks.
"Wow! You really are my son; you know what your mom likes to eat?" Jian Dan happily praised while handling the food boxes.
"Brother, why didn’t you buy the fried shrimp that I like?" Xiaoxin looked around for a while and said unhappily.
"There’s still time; the fried shrimp isn’t ready yet. Just eat something else first, I’ll buy it at noon."
"Alright! I knew Brother wouldn’t forget. Thanks, Brother, you’re the best." As she spoke, she kissed Jian Xiaokai on the cheek.
"Oh my! Aren’t you embarrassed doing that in front of Li Mu?"
"No way! I can kiss my own brother, anyone wanna say anything?" Xiaoxin said indistinctly as she ate.
"Mm! Jian Xiaokai, I didn’t expect the food at your school’s cafeteria to be quite tasty?" Jian Dan commented.
"Li Mu, stop standing there idly, eat too!" Jian Dan stuffed a chicken leg into Li Mu’s hand, "Eat!"
Li Mu looked at the chicken leg in his hand, suddenly feeling like he was on a picnic!
They were eating quite seriously, completely ignoring the chubby kid on the ground, who was watching them eat, continuously swallowing saliva.
He didn’t even notice his mom arriving.
"You foolish child, what are you staring at? Useless!" A slap landed on the chubby kid’s head.
"Mom! You’re finally here... boohoo..." Upon seeing his mom, the chubby kid immediately cried, throwing himself into her arms, sobbing like a rain-drenched flower—a scene that would make anyone think he’d suffered an immense grievance.
The chubby kid’s mom looked at her son’s embarrassed appearance, and her face turned angry, especially seeing the people who bullied her son happily eating snacks.
"Who hit my son?" The woman asked arrogantly.
Silence!
"Who hit my son?" The woman raised her voice seeing no response, and asked again.
Still silent!
"I’ll ask one last time, who hit my son? Speak up before I get angry." The woman was on the verge of exploding.
But still, silence was her only response.
"Don’t think you can walk away just by not admitting it; hitting my son isn’t something I’ll easily forgive."
"It’s not that no one’s admitting it, but no one hit your son. Your son fell because he’s too heavy!" Jian Dan looked at the woman with sympathy and said.
The woman turned her gaze to her son, who lowered his head in response, validating Jian Dan’s words.
