Chapter 744 - Your Application Has Been Cancelled
After a pause, Wesley stammered, "It's no big deal. Just Megan calling..." Since Blair disliked Megan, he guessed that she might not want to hear him talking to her. So he decided to leave the bedroom to answer the phone.
Blair released him and said in a calm voice, "Okay."
From experience, she knew that Megan was trying to create more trouble.
Wesley went to the balcony and answered the phone. "Hello?"
After listening to her, he furrowed his brows and said, "But I thought you were gonna stay there for a while. Why are you back already?"
He then cast a glance at Blair, who was lying in bed and looking straight at him. When he heard Megan's request from the other end of the line, he thought for a moment and finally turned her down. "I can't come to the airport now. I'll arrange someone else to pick you up."
After a while, he answered, "No, I'm not busy with work. I'm keeping Blair company." He never lied.
"Okay. Bye."
After hanging up on Megan, Wesley arranged for two men to go to the airport and pick her up before going back to the bedroom.
Blair's eyes were shut, making it look like she was asleep.
But her moving eyeballs under her closed eyelids betrayed her.
Wesley turned off the lights and pulled her into his arms. He knew that she would be unhappy if he didn't give her an explanation, so he told her, "Megan just flew back from A Country. I arranged for two men to pick her up from the airport."
Blair didn't respond.
Wesley waited for a while. Then, he lowered his head and kissed her lips gently.
Blair struggled and protested in a low voice, "Let go of me, Wesley! I'm not in the mood."
"Yes, you are," he said firmly.
He succumbed to his lust and pressed his lips firmly on hers. The heat between them felt more like electricity, as it flowed from every inch of his body to hers.
Pleasure-filled moans echoed throughout the room, as the bed creaked violently beneath their intense movements. The more she screamed, the more he was enticed to move faster, deeper and stronger.
Since Wesley was on vacation, he spent most of his time with Blair.
And he soon realized something weird about her behavior. She had quit her job earlier, but seemed to be in no hurry to find a new job. Instead, she had been cooked up in the study for the last couple of days.
'That's strange. She is definitely plotting something, ' Wesley thought.
After a short investigation, he found out that Blair had applied for a volunteer teacher's job in a remote village. The place was far away from Y City and it would take a whole day to drive from Y City to the village.
Wesley clutched his phone tighter; the news sent him into a rage. He used his connections to cancel Blair's application.
'Blair, you are not going anywhere; your place is by my side, ' he thought to himself.
Blair remained oblivious to what Wesley had done. She anxiously waited for the confirmation letter. It should have arrived within a week, yet she continued to wait for the rest of the month. But there was still no response.
Wesley, on the other hand, was behaving weirder than ever. He made sure she took the Chinese medicines three times a day.
He followed her around everywhere. She couldn't have a moment to herself.
One day, while Wesley was out, Blair figured it was a good chance for her to take a walk alone in peace. But before she could even leave the apartment complex, Wesley's car appeared out of nowhere and stopped her from leaving.
As days passed, Blair grew impatient. She somehow found the phone number of the person who was in charge of the recruitment process. When she contacted him, she learned that her application had been cancelled.
"But I didn't cancel it! I have been waiting for your confirmation letter all this time," she said into the phone in a frenzy.
"Miss Jing, when your application form was brought in to go through the necessary procedures, it was stopped midway for some reason. The other applications were all confirmed. Only yours was cancelled."
Blair was shocked. She hung up, feeling dejected.
She pondered over it for the whole afternoon and then slowly realized that this might have something to do with Wesley.
When he came back home that evening, Blair cornered him. "Wesley, I want to be a volunteer teacher. What do you think?" she pried.
He stared into her sharp eyes and said honestly, "I had my people cancel your application."
Blair was angered beyond belief.
The next day, she packed her stuff and left the apartment.
This time, she didn't get caught at the entrance of the apartment complex. But as she was waiting for her flight in the airport lounge, Wesley arrived and brought her back home. In order to prevent her from fleeing again, he grounded her completely.
Blair was going crazy. It was all madness. A few days later, Wesley took her to the hair salon. He asked the hair stylist to straighten her curly hair. Blair didn't argue; she knew that it would be useless.
Wesley wouldn't listen to her anyway. He was bossy and domineering. The most terrifying part was that he banged her relentlessly, every night.
Whenever Wesley saw Blair in some sexy outfit, he would tear it into pieces. He had already torn apart six or seven of her beautiful dresses.
So, after her hair was done, Wesley decided to buy her some new clothes. Of course, he picked them out himself.
He asked the staff to send the clothes he had bought to his car, and he took Blair to the shoe store next. He bought her two pairs of shoes to go with the new clothes.
To their surprise, they ran into Debbie, Colleen and Adriana at the mall.
"Hi, Bless! Wesley!" Adriana called out. That was when Blair noticed them.
Blair hadn't seen Debbie in years, and she found that Debbie had become more beautiful than before. "Hi, ladies!" she greeted them excitedly.
Debbie knew that Wesley disliked her, so she nodded at Blair and replied politely, "Hello, Miss Jing."
They hadn't seen each other for so long, and that was why she was being a bit formal. But they would get closer again in no time. That was just how women's friendship worked.
Blair wanted to run to them. But Wesley already knew what was on her mind. He grabbed hold of her collar the moment she moved forward.
He was at least twenty centimeters taller than her, so he almost lifted her up by grabbing onto her collar abruptly. The scene was so funny that the other three women burst out laughing.
Wesley, however, maintained a deadpan face and shot Blair a warning glance.
It had already been three years since Carlos' accident, and Debbie was honestly surprised that Wesley hated her even more now, just as Damon did.
Afraid that Wesley's attitude might hurt Debbie, Blair turned around and huffed, "Don't act like that. Debbie and I are good friends." Although they hadn't been in touch for years, her feelings for Debbie never changed.
But Wesley didn't let go of Blair, which pissed her off.
Seeing that Blair really wanted to hang out with them, Debbie walked over to the couple and saved her from the man's grip.
Debbie had a smart mouth, and she quickly shut Wesley up. He eased up on his grip on Blair when he realized that she really wished to be with the women.
She was finally behaving like the lively girl she used to be when he had first known her. Her chirpy smile was back.
He didn't know since when Blair had ceased to be that cheerful, bubbly girl. He wondered if it was his fault.
Since she seemed happy to be with Debbie, he decided to go easy on her this time. But he whispered something into her ears before letting her leave with Debbie.
Before taking his leave, Wesley cast a warning glance at Blair.
She had been really depressed lately, and at long last, she found some friends to talk to. She told them all about Wesley and what he had done to her. After spilling all her worries, Blair felt much better.
