Chapter 3485: Destined To Become A Monster
Chapter 3485: Destined To Become A Monster
Lu Yin looked at the couple in surprise. "Is that really necessary?"
Tian Ya nodded. "We have lived our lives with integrity and have never resorted to underhanded actions. If we hadn't learned about your consciousness, then given your strength, you would have been able to attack us with it once. Even if we are able to endure it, we have just gained an unfair advantage. If we win, it won’t be an honorable victory."
Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back. "You're overthinking things. I never had any intention of using my consciousness against you."
"Are you underestimating us?" Hu Wu's eyes turned cold.
Lu Yin shrugged. "While I might admire your character, the two of you aren’t strong enough yet for me to need to use my consciousness."
Hu Wu laughed, but her smile was frigid. "Tian Ya, we're being underestimated, terribly underestimated."
Tian Ya sighed. "After so many years, such an exceptional individual has risen from the younger generation. But, Third Boss, you're very arrogant."
Lu Yin shook his head. "I haven’t shown you my arrogance. You haven’t seen true arrogance yet."
"In that case, we won't hold back." Even Tian Ya was getting angry. His calm personality did not mean that he had no temper at all.
Lu Yin's continuously arrogant comments had finally angered the man.
The sound of flute music continued to rise, and the guqin’s notes grew increasingly crisp.
As Lu Yin listened to the sound of the flute, he seemed to see Mister Mu.
Master, are you alright?
While it had not been long since the two had parted, they were now in two different megaverses, and Lu Yin had no guarantee that he would survive long enough to return home.
Lu Yin closed his eyes and quietly listened.
These two indeed deserved his respect.
Their spiritual force raged like a storm, relentlessly bombarding Lu Yin.
Above the landmass, the crowd retreated further and further. The spiritual force was a monstrous entity. When the guqin and the flute played together, the couple’s spiritual force was powerful enough to attack the Third Boss. Just like the battle of consciousness, people did not dare to approach this battle.
Lu Yin remained unmoved. He stood in place, his hands clasped behind his back and his eyes closed.
No matter how intensely the guqin and flute played together or how violent the spiritual force raged, nothing could shake Lu Yin.
Hu Wu and Tian Ya were both shocked. How was this possible?
Their opponent had a Dukkhan-level consciousness, but was it even possible for a person to also cultivate their spiritual force to the same level?
Such a person should not exist.
Lu Yin had never slacked off when it came to cultivating his spiritual force. While his spiritual force had not reached the Origin realm, let alone the Dukkhan level, when he used the Origin Progenitor’s Sutra, even Progenitor Xi would struggle to affect Lu Yin’s spiritual force.
Progenitor Xi had once been known as Qingluo Jiantian, and her spiritual force and green sword qi had once forced the entire Lu family to take a step back. This had led Lu Yuan, the family’s founding ancestor, to ask the Origin Progenitor for help. That had led to the Origin Sutra, which had helped the Lu family strengthen their weak spiritual force.
Not only had Lu Yin continuously recited the Origin Progenitor’s Sutra, but he had also learned True God’s Natural Art, which also strongly relied upon spiritual force. Learning that art had caused Lu Yin’s spiritual force to transform. He did not even know when the transformation had occurred.
He might not have reached the same level of spiritual force as Progenitor Xi, but standing up to that level of power was no issue.
Both Hu Wu and Tian Ya were Ortusers, and their spiritual force was close to Progenitor Xi’s level. Combined, their spiritual force attack was even more powerful than Progenitor Xi’s Qingluo Intent. But it was still insufficient to shake Lu Yin’s spiritual force.
At worst, his face grew a bit pale.
The guqin and flute stopped playing.
The peach blossoms and emerald waves disappeared.
Tian Ya sighed. "It's useless."
Hu Wu was blown away. Did such a person really exist? His consciousness was at the Dukkhan level, and his spiritual force was nearly equal to their own. Just how had this man cultivated?
No one could find an answer to that question.
Old Tao could not make sense of Lu Yin, and Palace Master Yao was even more confused by the man.
How did the Third Boss have such a powerful spiritual force?
Lu Yin opened his eyes. "Are you done?"
Tian Ya was quite impressed. "Your strength is quite admirable."
Lu Yin looked at the couple before him. "If that’s all you have, then I’m rather disappointed."
This time, neither Hu Wu nor Tian Ya grew upset. Lu Yin had every right to act so arrogantly.
"Why didn’t you bother attacking?"
Lu Yin replied, "If I attack, this will be over."
"Can you ever speak without saying something arrogant?" Hu Wu asked in irritation.
Lu Yin did not believe that the two’s strength was even close to as limited as what they had revealed so far. While it was true that their combined strength was impressive, it had not been enough to do anything to him, even if he had to use his full efforts to protect himself from their attack. The thing was, even together, the couple were not nearly as much of a threat as the Worryless Elder.
At least, that was from Lu Yin’s perspective.
As far as others were concerned, Lu Yin was already an absolute monster.
He had already defeated Qian and the Worryless Elder. While neither of those victories had been overly shocking, the fact that Lu Yin was able to ignore Hu Wu and Tian Ya’s spiritual force attack was truly shocking.
He had ignored their spiritual force in the same way that he had ignored Wu Wei’s consciousness.
Were Hu Wu and Tian Ya weak? Of course not. When they used their spiritual force battle technique, how many in the entire Spirit Nidus could stand up to them?
In the past, Bao Qi had been forced to wait until after he acquired the Cauldron Bell to defeat Hu Wu and Tian Ya.
However, the Third Boss was standing before them, unmovable as a mountain and indifferent to the rampaging spiritual force that the two unleashed. If he was not a monster, then who was?
Old Tao sighed. "It’s possible that the Third Boss is the strongest expert in the Grandverse Manor. He’s so powerful that he can completely ignore Hu Wu and Tian Ya."
Palace Master Yao commented, "He perfectly countered their Butterfly Dances on the Horizon."
The spectators had expected a difficult struggle, but unfortunately, Hu Wu and Tian Ya’s power had been completely ineffective against Lu Yin.
On the ground below, Lu Yin stared at his two opponents. "My arrogance has been built up by you. I am bold enough to challenge the Spirit Nidus’s experts. Without sufficient arrogance, how could I possibly have such ambition?"
Tian Ya nodded. "Yes, you are qualified to be arrogant, but we won’t be completely trampled over by you."
The man’s hand rose up, and his wooden flute reappeared in his hand. "This is called Skyrend, and it’s my spirit weapon. Watch carefully."
Tian Ya stomped his foot on the ground, and his wooden flute spun. It instantly appeared directly in front of Lu Yin. "Thunderclap—Skyrend."
Boom!
Thunder rang out. It did not echo in the sky, or on the land, but rather within Lu Yin’s heart.
The rumbling thunder caused Lu Yin’s pupils to dilate. He stood, frozen, and allowed Tian Ya to stab the wooden flute into his heart. Lu Yin’s body was flung away with such force that he tore through the void.
No one had expected such a drastic turn of events.
Old Tao and the others had just been marveling at what a monster Lu Yin was, but in the blink of an eye, Lu Yin had been attacked in a manner that made it look as though he was helpless to retaliate.
Down on the ground, when the wooden flute stabbed into Lu Yin, he was pressed into the ground.
The wooden flute glowed with a green light that radiated a powerful vitality, despite pressing down on Lu Yin with such force that he struggled to breathe.
Starting from his heart, pressure spread throughout the rest of his body. At this moment, he had already been drained away. Thunder was still resounding in his heart, and while others could not hear it, blood was streaming from Lu Yin’s ears, eyes, and nose. He stared at Tian Ya in a daze, mere inches separating the two men.
There was a bang as Lu Yin shot deep underground.
Lu Yin passed directly through the landmass and entered outer space once again.
Tian Ya also appeared in outer space. The man was breathing heavily as he stared downwards.
He was staring at Lu Yin’s body as it drifted through outer space.
"You are the first person to force us to use this move. This move was originally reserved for him."
"Hu Wu and Tian Ya are not weak."
No one could understand what had just happened.
Lu Yin had freezed and simply allowed Tian Ya’s attack to strike him. Then, he had been struck through the landmass.
Just what had happened to the Third Boss?
In the distance, all of Lu Yin’s observers froze for a moment, shock filling their eyes. This was a huge turn of events. The Third Boss isn’t dead, is he?
On the sedan, Astral Anura was gaping. Could this really be happening?
Is Lu Yin dead? Dead? Really dead?
The toad’s eyes slowly lit up. I can finally escape, hahaha! I can escape! He’s dead!
Wait, is he really dead?
Astral Anura grew cautious. He did not want Lu Yin to come after him. Even if they were in the Spirit Nidus, if Lu Yin decided to chase the toad down, Astral Anura had no confidence in escaping.
This guy isn't that easy to kill, right? No, it can’t be that easy. Be careful, very careful.
Old Tao stood in place, dazed as he stared down at the landmass below. The invincible Third Boss... how could this happen?
Palace Master Yao and Cai Keqing were equally stunned.
The Megalith and the Pridebeast exchanged glances, similarly taken aback.
While the two astral beasts never spoke, that did not mean that they were dumb. They were actually quite clever, or else Lu Yin would have never taken the two in.
However, what they had just seen left them both stunned. They had never thought that the fight would take such a turn.
Things had changed too drastically and too quickly.
Lu Yin quietly drifted through outer space. What was that just now? Thunder in my heart? I was instantly dazed. That took effect even quicker than the Wang family’s Sit and Forget or the Worryless Elder's technique.
Everything had happened in one moment, despite the fact that Tian Ya’s speed had not been particularly fast. Even so, it had only taken Lu Yin an instant to lose focus.
A single strike from Tian Ya had sent Lu Yin flying through the landmass.
The thunder resounding in his heart had induced a sense of mental disorientation.
It had been a spiritual force battle technique. There was no doubt about it.
This was Hu Wu and Tian Ya’s most powerful combined attack. Thunderclap—Skyrend had not originated from Tian Ya, but rather from Hu Wu.
Impressive.
Qian, the Worryless Elder, Hu Wu, and Tian Ya all had hidden strengths.
Many of the nearby observers started to move closer, searching for Lu Yin.
On the surface of the landmass, Hu Wu crouched on the ground. Her face was quite pale.
Lu Yin was right that Thunderclap—Skyrend had originated from Hu Wu. It was actually her Spirit Transformation’s innate gift.
Thunderclap—Skyrend was a powerful ability, but she could normally only use it once. In order to deal with Lu Yin, she had used her innate gift repeatedly, which had pushed her to the limit.
Tian Ya helped her stand up.
"Impressive, isn’t it?" Hu Wu asked in a proud tone, despite her deathly pale countenance.
Tian Ya forced a smile. "Very impressive."
"Can you still fight?" Hu Wu asked eagerly.
Tian Ya stared at her blankly and did not answer.
Hu Wu quickly grew anxious. "I asked if you can still fight."
Tian Ya’s expression fell. "Little Wu, some people... are destined to become monsters."
The red rain started to fall once again. The air twisted, and a figure rose up from the ground before slowly walking towards the couple.
Hu Wu looked over. Her face turned even paler, and she swayed on her feet, almost falling over.
Tian Ya quickly caught his wife in his arms.
Her lithe body rested in the man’s arms. She still carried a slight scent of peach blossoms, but at this moment, Tian Ya had no time to appreciate her beauty.
"He’s a monster," Hu Wu muttered as she stared at Lu Yin in a daze as he slowly walked towards them.
Tian Ya’s voice was bitter. "If he’s like this, then that person is an even greater monster."
Beyond the landmass, the people who had started searching for Lu Yin stopped what they were doing with heavy sighs. The Third Boss was not dead. He had survived.
This was not much of a surprise.
This Third Boss’s strength was truly unfathomable and utterly terrifying.
After seeing the battle in the Consciousness Domain, no one could understand just where Lu Yin’s limits laid.
Hu Wu and Tian Ya were very powerful. No one knew what the final battle technique that they had used against the Third Boss and rendered him unable to react was. However, they had gone as far as they could.
So what if the Third Boss had not been able to react? He had not needed to, as the couple were incapable of harming him.
Old Tao, Palace Master Yao, and several others inexplicably let out a breath of relief.
While they had initially been captured by Lu Yin, as time passed, they had become bound to the Grandverse Manor. They could no longer escape.
If the Grandverse Manor fell, they would be doomed alongside it. There was no place left in the Spirit Nidus that would accept them.
The sight of an unharmed Lu Yin caused the members of his entourage to better understand their current predicament.
Astral Anura could not help but cover his eyes. Sure enough, caution had been the right choice.
