Chapter 413: She was, indeed, a little touched. (1)
Zhang Sheng had an idea what his wife was thinking about.
Looking at his little sister’s stubborn look, he put on a stern face.
“Third Sister, I think your last few years had been way too peaceful. Tell me, what is going through that mind of yours that made you want to push your own daughter as far away from you as possible?” asked Zhang Sheng with deep regret.
“How old do you think you are right now and how much longer are you going to remain so childish for?”
“Big Brother…”
Being chastised by her brother, Mother Gu turned very pale.
She had been betrayed and divorced by her husband and she had her brother came to back her up!
She was the victim here!
And she only got a divorce because Gu Shishi had provoked her.
And, up until now, she never even called and asked about her wellbeing.
Her brother only scolded her because he did not know the whole story.
“I am just going to think that I had never given birth to this child. Big Brother, say no more. I don’t want to hear it,” said Mother Gu with her neck stiff.
Zhang Sheng stared at her. “Have you lost all ability to think in a rational manner? Just going to think that you have never given birth to her? Zhang Wen, how many children have you ever given birth to? Which one do you want if not this one?”
“I am happy with just Shuangshuang,” said Mother Gu as she closed her eyes.
Zhang Sheng snickered, “One way or another, she is someone whose birth parents are still around. Besides, she didn’t look like the grateful kind to me. Zhang Wen, if you continue down this path, never mind that there will be nobody taking care of you when you are old and weak, there probably won’t be any one around your death bed!”
Mother Gu’s stared at him with her red and puffy eyes. “Big Brother, all these years, I had always raised Shuangshuang as though she is my own and she has always thought of me as her mother. Are you saying that the bond between us is not stronger than what is between her and her parents that she has only known for a few days?”
Zhang Sheng shook his head. “Knowing oneself is a very important quality of a person. You have always been a naïve one. You trust those you like unconditionally and are capricious and ignore those that you don’t care about. Are you still not aware of this problem of yours till today?
“Gu Jiangxin is an example; and Gu Wushuang is another.”
“Wushuang is not like that…”
Zhang Sheng silently pulled out his cellphone and pulled up a photo.
“You are not even 50 yet and Gu Jiangxin is only in his early fifties. Even if he is to divvy up the Gu’s asset, they won’t be going to the children yet.”
What he had pulled up with the newest changes in Jiahe’s shareholders’ information.
Gu Wushuang now held 49% of the shares.
“As his ex-wife and as Gu Wushuang’s mother, do you see your name on here anywhere? Zhang Wen, you can’t always just listen to what others are telling you. Sometimes you need to see for yourself. It is so obvious how others have been treating you but you are just not getting it.”
Mother Gu smiled nonchalantly. “Big Brother, here I was wondering what you were talking about. Wushuang had mentioned this to me before. She offered to have them under my name but, given my age, I have no interest in learning how to run a company.
“Besides, Wencheng had also told me about estate tax. If I am to turn this over to Wushuang in my golden years, we will have to pay a lot in estate tax. So I thought it is better if we just have Wushuang be the shareholder of the company.
“It was my idea.”
Mother Gu explained that in a very rational fashion.
Zhang Sheng was stupefied. Speechless, even.
He never would have expected that his little sister still hasn’t learned her lesson!
Gu Jiangxin had taken with him all of their joint assets during the marriage but that wasn’t painful enough for her. It hasn’t even been that long before she fell for another trap!
So generous and without a single care for herself.
It may seem selfless on the outside but that was built upon her stupidity!
Utmost stupidity.
