Chapter 349: She, Too, Had a Day Where She Would Get Lost
The Shocking Thunder Beast felt anger and fear at the same time. Looking at the chilling gleam on the sword, it hesitated for a moment, then turned around and fled. The intelligence of a Level-8 monster beast was far beyond that of normal monster beasts. Even though it was trembling in rage, it also knew how terrifying the Battle Qi of this person standing opposite it was. Its horn was broken but it could grow back; a life, though…
As it was hesitating, Ling Chuxi’s Luo Chen Sword ruthlessly pierced the middle of its back. However, it only managed to penetrate an inch deep and could not get in further. Sure enough, a Level-8 monster beast’s defense was really strong.
“Such a pity.” As she watched the monster beast run away, Ling Chuxi felt a little regret. Although the Turning Cloud Gesture which she had secretly learned combined with her own Battle Qi had condensed to a single point, it was not the same as Xiao Tianfan’s. His Battle Qi would be greatly depleted once he struck out, and the preparation time was still too long. If it could be used continuously, how could the Shocking Thunder Beast escape today?
“It’s you!” Xiao Tianfan had managed to climb back up from the ground, and he stared at the disheveled Ling Chuxi in surprise.
He had personally experienced how strong the Shocking Thunder Beast was – even his Turning Cloud Gesture could not withstand it. After the tragic battle, he didn’t even know where his long sword had fallen. It was such a tough Level-8 monster beast, yet its horn had been broken off by Ling Chuxi’s sword, and it was frightened to the point that it fled.
‘I was lucky she did not use the sword during our last fight, or else….’ As he recalled Ling Chuxi’s astonishing move just now, Xiao Tianfan’s heart pounded fearfully. He did not dare think about it anymore.
He thought that he was considered one of the strongest amongst the young generation of many countries, but when he looked at Ling Chuxi, Xiao Tianfan’s remaining confidence fizzled out. Compared to the last time, her cultivation seemed to have improved a lot. ‘Just how long has it been? How is it possible that she improved so quickly?’
He thought again about his cultivation which was supposedly shockingly impressive, and wanted to laugh at the irony of it.
“Why are you here?” After a while, Xiao Tianfan regained his senses and asked her.
“I’m heading to Ding Lin Country, so I took the small paths to undergo training.” Ling Chuxi was embarrassed to admit that she had been hunted and had escaped to this area, so she came up with a lie.
“Ding Lin Country?” Xiao Tianfan looked at Ling Chuxi weirdly.
“What’s wrong?” Ling Chuxi asked hesitantly.
“This is the border of Dong Xing Country. If you are heading to Ding Lin Country, how did you end up here?” Xiao Tianfan was looking at her like she was crazy.
“Dong Xing Country….” Ling Chuxi knew the meaning of Xiao Tianfan’s weird gaze – he was probably thinking that she was a directionally challenged idiot like Baili Han.
Ling Chuxi blushed slightly. This was all the fault of that old pervert! Wait till she was powerful – if they met again, she would definitely bash his face in till it split open like a peach blossom!
“You must be preparing to participate in the assessment competition of the five countries. By the looks of it, you most likely will not be able to reach in time. Up ahead is Jian Wen City of our Xiao Family, I can dispatch someone to send you there.” Xiao Tianfan could see the awkwardness on Ling Chuxi’s face, and smoothly changed the subject.
“Thanks then.” Ling Chuxi did not bother acting courteous towards Xiao Tianfan. If she continued being courteous, she could only return to Nan Xia Country dejectedly.
“If not for you, I would have most likely lost my life just now. I should be the one thanking you,” Xiao Tianfan smiled and said honestly.
Ling Chuxi smiled as well, she could see that Xiao Tianfan’s personality and character was not too bad. Although he had lost to her previously, when they met again, he held no resentment towards her. He was very open-minded, and had thanked her as well.
