1379 Chapter 1379. Making A Choice
The fiery shell around Talia dissolved. She fell weakly onto the floor. She suffered damage again after Peniel replenished her HP. Her HP had now fallen back to below thirty percent. Peniel and Grace had exhausted their potent healing spells. All were on cooldown. Grace could only use Healer’s basic spell, Heal, which had a short cooldown but healed very little HP.
Jack ran to Kramer. Kramer’s whole was badly burned. He was not moving.
“No…,” Jack uttered. He used his Inspect. Kramer had died.
“You, a*shole…!!!” Jack scolded as he turned back. Aglea was controlled by a person, and it was that person who had made Aglea use the supernova just now. Jack was angry. That person should have at least warned them first.
Peniel told Jack that Aglea’s attack just now was Light Nova. A very powerful attack that was similar to Euphosine’s Ice Nova, but this one was even more powerful because Aglea cast it at the expense of her life. Using her life force to fuel the spell’s power by several folds.
Yet, when he turned around. He couldn’t find the person he was looking for.
“Where is he…?” Jack asked.
Grace looked around. She also couldn’t find Master.
Jack couldn’t find the dot representing Master on his radar. Master had left the party without notice. There was no longer Master’s name within their game party, but Jack didn’t believe Master had left this place. He turned to the divine heritage which was still floating up there. He then used Gold Dragon Sight.
As he suspected, he could see Master then. Master had used another Invisibility scroll. He was at the moment floating before the divine heritage. He was doing something to the seal around the divine heritage and the seal appeared to be opening up.
Jack used Reset then.
He never trusted Master. He had saved this skill to deal with Master, in case Master turn on them when the battle was over.
He transformed into supreme dragon form and shot forward. His entire objective in coming to this faction was to prevent Master from getting the divine heritage. He wasn’t going to let that happen right in front of him.
But the sound of ice breaking drew his attention. He turned and saw the ice block had broken and Euphosine came out of it. She headed toward Talia who was down on the floor.
Euphosine was also not in the best condition. All her ice chains were gone. Her HP was even lower than Talia’s. Only around twenty percent was left, but she seemed to have more energy than Talia. She was shouting hysterically as she headed toward Talia.
“You, traitor! I consider you my sister. But again and again, you betray me! You oppose me! Now, you try to kill me with this group of pests. No more! I will end you now with my own hands!!”
Talia was still weak when Euphosine came barging. She tried to fight back but her hands were slapped to the side by Euphosine. Euphosine’s hand then turned into an ice claw that clenched Talia’s neck.
Jack recognized that skill. It was Ice Death, the skill with the instant death effect. That skill must have gone off cooldown.𝚗𝒪𝓋𝓔𝓵𝐍𝗲xt.𝓒𝐎𝔪
Talia’s level difference might not be that far from Euphosine, but her HP was already low. The chance of instant death taking effect was rather high.
In that split second, Jack was faced with a dilemma. Should he proceed to Master or turn back?
Master was still too far for him to use a ranged attack. He needed to advance further, but that would mean leaving Talia to her fate.
It was just a split second, but Jack made his decision.
He had used the dragon form’s inherent wind jet to shoot forward. He was now casting the same spell in the opposite direction. His flight ground to a halt before shooting backward.
Ice flakes started to cover Talia, they spread from her neck which was in contact with Euphosine’s ice claw. Talia’s body produced fire mana to combat the spreading of the ice but she was losing the battle. But due to this, she wasn’t frozen as fast as Master’s angel when Euphosine used this skill the first time.
“Get away from her!” Jack shouted and activated all his offensive buffs, including Strength of Hope. He used Wind Slash once he came into range. He followed with Sword of Light, Mana Beam, Tracing Beams, and other long-ranged attacks.
Euphosine ignored all those attacks. She just focused on hastening Talia’s freezing process. Or maybe her mind had completely broken and she wasn’t aware of the attacks hitting her. She kept on shouting with her hand on Talia’s neck. She was freezing her and strangling her at the same time.
“Die…! Die…! DIE…!!!”
When Jack used Reset, he also re-activated Ultimate Beast, Beast Tantrum, and Gigantify Pet. The multiple buffs empowered Therras and gave it the power to release itself from its frozen condition. The ice that encased it was shattered as its mighty roar was heard.
Therras flapped its wing and chased after Jack when he was going for Master. But when Jack turned around, it followed suit.
Jack’s ranged attacks had been ignored by Euphosine. When Therras came near him, Jack used Combination Assault. The two merged into a meteor strike and went barreling into Euphosine.
The forceful collision finally pried open Euphosine’s ice claw from Talia’s neck. Talia fell back and coughed hard after being released.
Euphosine glared at Jack with eyes full of hatred. “You again! You keep on coming between me and my sister…!!”
“You have no right to call yourself a sister!” Jack exclaimed. He advanced with Therras. He activated his defensive buffs, the Gold Scale Armor and the Lightning God Suit.
Euphosine had one hand pointed at Therras and another at Jack. The one pointed at Therras cast a spell that summoned a giant ice boulder. The boulder crashed into Therras and sent it tumbling sideways.
Her other hand had a finger pointed at Jack. Her ice chains might have gone, but she created one again using her ice power. An ice chain that was larger than the ones before formed before her finger. This ice chain shot toward Jack with incredible speed and pierced his chest.
“Get over here…!” Euphosine yelled maniacally.
Stuck with the ice chain, Jack was pulled toward Euphosine.
