"So, is it possible that the two individuals you never found actually managed to escape into the outside world?" Yu Qi asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
"It is quite probable. That would explain why we failed to locate them during that time." Long Hui replied with a firm nod.
"So, after murdering my senior brothers and me back then, they went on to steal our personal belongings. How utterly despicable." Yu Qi said, her eyes narrowing as the realisation set in.
"They were likely searching for the space." Long Hui added thoughtfully.
"Probably. Fortunately, the space is permanently tied to my very soul." Yu Qi remarked.
"Hmm..." Long Hui nodded in agreement.
"Then, it is highly possible that the items stolen back then have somehow ended up here." Yu Qi said, her expression turning solemn.
"It will be a difficult task to find them. This world is vast and full of hidden corners." Long Hui stated realistically.
"Don’t worry, I am not being foolish. I am not planning to hunt down every single item. It was a stroke of luck for me to find the pill box as it is. The funny thing is that some people actually mistook it for a simple jewellery box." Yu Qi said.
She recalled Nurse Liang Xiuying mentioning that it looked like an old jewellery box. Yu Qi had chosen not to correct her at the time. She couldn’t exactly explain that it was a specialised pill box; that would have been far too strange.
"So, when are you planning on going back?" Yu Qi asked, abruptly changing the topic.
"Going back? Where to?" Long Hui asked in return, looking puzzled.
"Home?" Yu Qi suggested, tilting her head slightly to the side.
"Why would I need to go back? You are here, and I am currently acting as your bodyguard." Long Hui replied smoothly.
"Oh... so you are planning on staying?" Yu Qi asked for clarification.
"Of course. Now that I am here, I can ensure your protection personally." Long Hui stated.
"Well, it is likely that you won’t be able to stay with me twenty-four hours a day. Especially during the night." Yu Qi pointed out.
"And why is that?" Long Hui questioned.
"Because I might be sharing living quarters with my other female teammates." Yu Qi explained.
"Oh... that is perfectly fine. At the very least, I will be nearby to keep watch," Long Hui said.
Long Hui had no intention of backing off. He was determined to stay by Yu Qi’s side.
"Fine... it is entirely up to you." Yu Qi knew that regardless of what she said, Long Hui would never willingly leave her.
Their next destination was the supermarket. Yu Qi wanted to prepare a meal for the contracted beasts residing inside the Space. It had been quite a while since she had last cooked for them. Not to mention, Shino had been whining to her incessantly about wanting to taste her cooking again.
After inquiring with a waiter about the supermarket’s location, Yu Qi and Long Hui left the restaurant and headed toward the store.
Long Hui grabbed a trolley and began pushing it as they entered the supermarket. They headed to the fresh supplies section first. Yu Qi selected a wide variety of meats, including chicken and beef; they even had duck available there, so she took that as well. There was seafood present, but it did not look particularly fresh, so Yu Qi decided to pass on it. She understood the situation, however.
This location was quite far from the sea, making access to fresh seafood difficult. Fortunately, her "little cuties" did not care much for seafood anyway.
Yu Qi also filled the trolley with several packs of cookies. Bo Ya would surely be happy with them since the boy had such a strong craving for sweets.
The cashier appeared surprised by the sheer volume of meat they were purchasing, but he chose to remain silent. He scanned every item efficiently. Afterwards, Long Hui handled the payment. They returned to the car and loaded the groceries into the back.
Long Hui drove the vehicle until they reached an empty stretch of road, where he brought the car to a stop. Yu Qi moved into the backseat and lowered the section that connected to the trunk.
Using her abilities, Yu Qi moved everything into the Space. Once everything was safely stored, she finally returned to the front passenger seat. Long Hui resumed driving, eventually returning to their hotel room.
They entered the Space immediately after securing themselves inside the hotel room.
"We are going to have a BBQ tonight!" Yu Qi announced cheerfully.
The contracted beasts cheered in excitement. Yu Qi began giving them instructions on which ingredients to harvest from their garden. The beasts complied without complaint, accepting their assigned tasks.
Yu Qi prepared the various meats while Long Hui set up the grill. After two hours of preparation, everything was ready to be placed over the fire.
’Rukh, come and eat. We are having a BBQ, and there is plenty of meat,’ Yu Qi called out, inviting Rukh to join them.
They began placing the meat on the grill, and soon, an amazing aroma filled the air. Rukh appeared shortly after the summons.
"Change into your human form. It will be much easier for you to eat that way." Yu Qi suggested.
Rukh complied and shifted into his human form.
