They entertained their guest by taking down one of their cows and cooking a lavish dinner for the medical team. This village had around 300 people. Around 30 of them were children. Some of them were shy, and some of them were outspoken.
"How about school?" Yu Qi asked, curious about that.
"Of course, we go to school, although the school is a little bit far." One of the kids said.
"How do you go to school? By bus?" Nurse Guo Liqiu asked.
"Of course, not. The bus can not come to our village. We ride the tractor." The kid answered.
"Oh..." Nurse Guo Liqiu responded, feeling embarrassed.
During dinner, they introduced themselves and shared their plans for the village. The village welcomed them and offered them a drink. Yu Qi immediately declined the drink politely and explained why she could not drink.
They were surprised that a young girl like her could not drink, but they understood and did not force another drink on her. They offered her some tea.
Others would drink the first glass and decline when they were offered the second glass. They understood that they needed to work and did not want the drunkness ruin it.
The dinner ended. The village leader told them that they would stay in the house with the families. One house would accommodate one staff. Yu Qi stayed with the name Zhang. The Zhang families had two daughters and a son. The daughters were 14 years old and 8 years old, while the son was only 4 years old.
Yu Qi would sleep in the room with the two daughters. She thought it was a small room. However, surprisingly, it was big enough. The room did not feel crowded even after Yu Qi entered the room with the two daughters.
Yu Qi thanked the girls and prepared to sleep. When she was sleeping, she heard a crying voice. It was low. She frowned and stood up. She saw a white-clothed female ghost. Upon realising that she was being watched, the female ghost startled and immediately disappeared.
Yu Qi was confused by the female ghost’s action. Usually, the ghost was really aggressive. Some of them wanted to come back by possessing the living body.
Yu Qi did nothing and went back to sleep. The next morning, she woke up. The girls were still sleeping. The clock just showed 5:00 p.m. Then the clock was ringing. The older one woke up and was surprised to see Yu Qi already awake.
"Good morning, Doctor Tang." Zhang Lusi said.
"Hmm... Do you always wake up at this hour?" Yu Qi asked.
"Yes. I am going to help my parents with the chores. But only on weekdays. I can sleep until 7:30 a.m. at weekends." Zhang Lusi stated.
"I see." Yu Qi nodded.
Zhang Lusi reminded her about herself when she was the adopted daughter of the Wang Family. She also woke up earlier, at this time, to help the Wang Family.
Zhang Lusi excused herself to go to the toilet to wash her face. She then put on some thicker clothes and left the room.
Yu Qi also went to the bathroom. This family really cared for their daughter that they built a separate toilet for their daughter. She also put on some clothes and went out. The sky was still dark. However, she already heard the voices. It seemed the villagers really woke up earlier.
Yu Qi saw Zhang Lusi giving food to the chicken. She also saw Zhang Song, Zhang Lusi’s father, cropping the chicken faeces. Then, she saw Zhang Song sneaking up on Zhang Lusi’s back.
"Dad, you can not sneak on me like this. I can tell you are at my back. The smell is noticeable." Zhang Lusi said.
Zhang Song laughed. "I thought you still had that blocking nose."
"Even with the blocked nose, I can smell the chicken poops." Zhang Lusi replied.
"Oh..." Zhang Song nodded.
"And, Dad, you should go to your work now. Your wife is staring at you." Zhang Lusi reminded her father.
"Eh!!!" Zhang Song went stiff.
He turned around and saw his wife, Liu Suwan, glaring at him.
"Honey..." Zhang Song grinned.
"Stop disturbing our daughter and start working." Liu Suwan scolded her husband.
"I am done." Zhang Lusi said.
"Already?" Zhang Song turned to his daughter.
"I am done because I do my work without playing around." Zhang Lusi replied.
"Ah... My wife and daughter are cold toward me. Why?" Zhang Song sobbed dramatically.
"Stop acting out and do your work." Liu Suwan said.
Yu Qi could not hold back her laugh anymore and burst into laughter.
The three of them turned and saw Yu Qi watching them. Zhang Song immediately felt embarrassed, allowing Yu Qi to watch the drama.
"Doctor Tang, you already woken up." Liu Suwan smiled at Yu Qi.
"Yeah." Yu Qi nodded. "Your relationship is really good." She commented.
Liu Suwan laughed. "It is nothing. I already prepared some food for breakfast. Do you want to have it now, Doctor Tang?"
"Yeah... Sure." Yu Qi nodded.
Liu Suwan turned to her husband. "After you have done, go and take a bath."
Liu Suwan invited Yu Qi to go in. Yu Qi saw some fried rice and some dumpling soup.
"Can you eat these?" Liu Suwan asked.
"Yes." Yu Qi nodded.
"Thank goodness. I thought the city folk disliked eating heavy food in the morning." Liu Suwan said.
