"So, may I know why the police officers want to meet us?" Yu Qi asked.
"It is about the car." Captain Thomas stated.
"About the car? The missing car? We already paid for the lost car. The company already stated that they would not make a report to the police about it." Yu Qi spoke like she was shocked and angry that the company had made the report to the police even after they had already made the arrangement and paid for the car.
"Miss... It is not like that. The rental company did not make a report about the missing car. We come to see you about something else." Captain Thomas stated.
"What is it?" Long Hui asked.
"The car that was supposed to be rented by you two was found exploded on the last two nights at the Mountain Height." Captain Thomas stated.
He saw the expression on Yu Qi and Long Hui’s faces. He could see that Long Hui frowned and Yu Qi was in shock.
"How does that happen?" Long Hui asked.
"At first, we thought it was a normal car accident where the driver lost control of the car and plummeted into the cliff. However, after further investigation, we found out that the car had been installed with a bomb that exploded when it collapsed with force. The people in the car died in that car accident." Captain Thomas said.
"What are you saying to say? Are you suspecting us of installing the bomb?" Long Hui asked, feeling displeased.
"As the police officer, we need to investigate in all directions. We would like to ask you some questions. Do I have your consent?" Captain Thomas asked.
Yu Qi and Long Hui looked at each other and nodded to Captain Thomas.
"We agree." Long Hui stated.
"Great. Where do you come from?" That was the first question from Captain Thomas.
"We are from Binhai Nation." Long Hui answered.
"Why are you here? Holiday?" Captain Thomas asked again.
"Nope. We are on a business trip. We are visiting the construction site of our new factory and greenhouse." Yu Qi said.
"So, tell me about what happened on the night when you missed the car." Captain Thomas asked.
"We wanted to eat some local food. So, we decided to go to the night market. Before the nearest parking lot to the night market was full, we decided to park further away from the night market." Long Hui stated.
"To think about, there were only two or three cars parked in that area." Yu Qi commented.
Long Hui nodded and continued. "We did not think much about that and went to the night market to enjoy the food. We stayed there for about 2 hours before we left the night market. When we walked toward the car, we noticed the car was missing. We tried to search the area but did not find the car."
"We decided to get back to the hotel first by taxi. Only the next day, we called the rental company to inform them about their missing car. Since we did not want to get in trouble, we paid the total amount of the compensation stated on the contract that we signed in exchange for them not contacting the police about the matter." Yu Qi continued.
"So, you don’t know if the car had exploded?" Captain Thomas asked.
"Not until you came." Long Hui said.
"We thought you came here because the company reported the missing car." Yu Qi stated.
"I don’t know how to inform you about this." Captain Thomas sighed.
"Huh?" The couple looked at Captain Thomas.
"Inform us about what?" Long Hui asked.
"That incident was probably aimed at you two." Captain Thomas stated.
Long Hui frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
"We suspected the bomb had been installed in the car that you were supposed to use. Unfortunately, the car was stolen and killed the thief in the process. The next day, there was a leak stating that someone from the Lee family had hired the hitman to stage the car accident to kill someone. The hitman thought the job was successful. So, he asked for the payment. That person from the Lee Family seemed to refuse to pay." Captain Lee explained.
"The Lee Family?" Long Hui gritted his teeth.
"Them again? Yu Qi sighed.
"You know them?" Captain Thomas raised his eyebrow.
"If it was them, it makes sense." Yu Qi said.
"That’s right." Long Hui nodded.
"What do you mean by that?" Captain Thomas became interested in knowing.
"Do you remember the incident where the underground base had been discovered and the Lee Family was involved as well?" Yu Qi asked.
"Yes. How could we forget about that?" Captain Thomas stated.
"We are the ones who discovered and destroyed the place." Yu Qi said.
"Huh?" Captain Thomas was confused.
"I am Colonel Long Hui from the Binhai Nation’s Military army. I was the one who led the operation." Long Hui introduced himself again.
"What?" Everyone was surprised.
"I was the bait for the operation. The organisation behind the underground base centre wanted me to be in their team. They had been targeting me for a long time." Yu Qi said.
"I read the report about that arrest. A lot of countries were delighted that they managed to destroy one of the largest bases that the organisation had." Captain Thomas seemed to be excited.
