Chapter 2863 - 2861: You Can Do It Too
In the past, she was always expressionless, as if nothing had anything to do with her, like she could just hang everything high up and leave it alone.
So this was basically the first time Nangong Beiying had seen this kind of flustered and exasperated look on Nangong Susu’s face, let alone seeing her this angry.
“Uh, let you all see a joke. Are we going to eat or go home?” Nangong Susu looked at the group of them, not sure which one they had in mind.
“Eat. Have you eaten yet? If not, join us?” The reason Nangong Beiying hadn’t touched her before was that she’d never interfered in The Gongs’ affairs, and after a few interactions, she’d found her pretty decent, someone you could trust.
“Okay. Qin Xue, long time no see.” She accepted Nangong Beiying’s invitation and turned to greet Qin Xue. She used to think Qin Xue would become Mr. Mo’s last disciple, but who’d have thought she’d quit because of her child, leaving the hospital without even giving people time to think it over.
Seeing her doing well now was a bit of a surprise. Even though she knew Qin Xue and their Yingying were friends, they’d never met like this before.
“Long time no see. How have you been lately?” Qin Xue smiled. Since the other party was showing goodwill, she would respond in kind.
This had always been her principle: as long as the other party didn’t do anything else to cross the line, she wouldn’t do anything either.
Most of the time, she was just that kind of person. Isn’t that how people get along anyway? So this was necessary.
If a person wants to make friends, it’s actually quite easy. Wanting a friend you can really talk to isn’t easy, but just having a nodding acquaintance is very easy.
“Not bad. Every day it’s surgery, the lab, and home—just those three points in a straight line. After you left the hospital, a lot of things there needed someone to step up. I always felt your medical skills were really good, and you were a great fit at the hospital. It’s a pity.” Nangong Susu genuinely felt it was a pity; she wasn’t just saying it.
She just didn’t know if Qin Xue would believe her. She’d never shown any signs of excluding her before; it was just that she was a bit withdrawn and rarely interacted with people.
So after being at the hospital for so long, she still didn’t really have any friends. Outside of work, it was just home. In The Gongs, there were lots of people she only knew by face but wasn’t familiar with.
The reason she was closer with Nangong Beiying was because Beiying’s way of doing things made her feel comfortable; otherwise she wouldn’t have bothered with her either.
“There’s nothing to pity. You gain some, you lose some, that’s normal.” Qin Xue didn’t feel that way at all. Her child was a gift from heaven, something nothing could compare to. How could she feel it was a pity? She was too busy feeling happy.
“That’s true. But you’re really amazing. Not only are you good at work, you’re great in other areas too.” What Nangong Susu was referring to was Qin Xue’s knack for business; she had no idea how that brain of hers was wired—it was really something.
“You can do it too. As long as you want to, there’s nothing you can’t pull off, really.” Qin Xue had studied this before, so of course she knew a thing or two.
But if you were talking about being truly expert, she still couldn’t compare to people who did it professionally.
And many times, Qin Xue felt that Nangong Susu was quite mysterious, always giving her some kind of different feeling.
So Qin Xue didn’t really know how to put it into words. It was just that her feeling about her wasn’t bad, so they might as well keep getting along.
In Qin Xue’s mind, the fact that Nangong Susu had been able to keep growing like this already made her a very remarkable person.
She just didn’t know how to say it properly, so she decided to just take things one step at a time.
Qin Xue felt this kind of thing depended on both sides. As long as everyone sincerely wanted to make a friend, then just be friends.
