Chapter 40 - No Need To Negotiate
Chapter 40: No Need To Negotiate
Bai Qinghao narrowed his eyes. His sharp gaze landed on her and seemed to see right through her.
She had only been in the Yu Ting Villa for a few days and she already wanted to leave. Did she not wish to stay by his side?
Was her obedience in the past few days fabricated?
A moment later, just as Fang Xinxin assumed that he would refuse her, he nodded slightly.
“Thank you!” She pressed a kiss on his cheek in happiness.
Thank you for not locking me up like you did in our past life.
Bai Qinghao was startled. A suspicious red glow appeared on his fair skin.
He watched as she left happily through the villa gates and could not bear to take his eyes off of her.
“CEO, you let her leave just like that. Aren’t you afraid she will visit Bai Chenxi?” Liu Li spoke in concern.
“Bai Chenxi was injured in the car accident and should be discharged today. This subordinate is worried that Miss Fang is planning to visit him.”
“That better not be the case…” Bai Qinghao’s expression turned cold. “Otherwise, she will never have the chance to take a single step out of the Yu Ting Villa again!”
He directed a look at Liu Li. “Send someone to watch her.”
“Understood.”
…
After leaving the villa, Fang Xinxin regretted not borrowing a car from Bai Qinghao.
However, she thought about it and decided it was better not to.
She was currently eating his food and living in his home. He also bought her a lot of clothes and shoes.
Although he owned a lot of cars and it was simple to borrow one from him, she wanted to rely on her effort to accomplish some things.
After a short walk, she stood at the bus stop.
She had a few dollars on her and could only afford to take the public transport.
She bought 10 eggs and carried the bag to board a bus. She alighted at an intersection.
From what she recalled, twenty minutes later, the Gu Corporation’s director would drive by. His car would explode at that time.
The very next day, news of his death would be on the headline.
Fang Xinxin intentionally arrived early and waited for his arrival.
As expected, fifteen minutes later, a black Mercedes-Benz drove by.
Fang Xinxin checked the car plate number and confirmed that it was Gu Linyuan’s car.
She brought out the eggs she had prepared and held five in each hand. She then aimed them directly at the car, smashing them against the windshield.
The smashed eggs made it impossible for the chauffeur to see ahead of him. The car was forced to a stop.
The chauffeur alighted the car angrily and shouted at Fang Xinxin. “What’s wrong with you!”
Fang Xinxin paid him no heed. She approached the backseat door and knocked against the window.
The window was lowered. A well-groomed, middle-aged man was sitting inside.
Fang Xinxin recognised him as Gu Linyuan, the Gu Corporation’s director who was frequently featured in interviews.
“You are?” Gu Linyuan watched her suspiciously.
“My identity does not matter. What’s important is that you are in danger. I can save your life.”
“What?”
“If I’m able to save your life, and this incident is unrelated to me, how much will you pay me?”
Gu Linyuan felt that she was insane. However, seeing her serious expression, he felt it was best to be cautious.
Furthermore, during the last few days, he had been feeling distracted. His eyelids also kept twitching.
“How much do you need?” Gu Linyuan asked.
“150 000 USD.” Fang Xinxin was expressionless. “There’s no need to negotiate. If there’s even one cent less, I won’t interfere in this matter.”
“If you really save my life… My Gu Corporation is a large enterprise. 150,000 USD is not a problem,” Gu Linyuan responded.
“Deal.” Fang Xinxin opened the car door and grabbed his hand to run. “Quickly run, someone installed a bomb on your car!”
