Chapter 104 - Far From Perfect
Chapter 104: Far From Perfect
“Didn’t Xinxin say that, for the sake of lying to me, you arranged for her to stay here last minute?” Bai Qinghao narrowed his eyes coldly.
His gaze seemed to hold a murderous intent. “She said she lived in the storeroom for seven years. Did you think that you could erase the truth so easily?”
“CEO Bai, don’t believe in Fang Xinxin, she…” Fang Manxue was flustered and tried to explain herself.
Fang Xinxin cut her off. “Second sister, even if you guys wish to erase the evidence of my existence in the storeroom, your efforts are far from perfect.”
Since Bai Qinghao believed in her innocence, she was naturally willing to show him the truth.
Fang Xinxin approached the closet and picked up the branded item which was worth a thousand and five hundred dollars. She held it up against herself. It was clearly a mismatch. “The size of this dress is 3 XL. It’s too small for me. My clothes’ size varies between 4 to 5 XL. Among the mountain of trash piled in this closet, this must be the only item worth any money.”
“How can you say that the clothes we bought for you are trash?” Fang Lilan angrily reprimanded her. Although you may not be satisfied with them, you’re stepping on our sincerity…”
Fang Xinxin brought the clothes out piece by piece. She compared each one to her figure and tossed them aside. “Look at this street clothing. This one is already covered in lint. Can these clothes be worn? Most importantly, none of these fit my figure… and they’re not even worth more than a few dollars!”
Fang Lilan and Fang Manxue never expected Fang Xinxin to be so brave, and to directly expose the truth behind the clothes. They also did not expect her to recognise the value of the clothes. They assumed that, with her intelligence, she would only suffer blindly.
As for Bai Qinghao, they all knew that he had mysophobia and would never touch the things in someone else’s closet. Besides, how would an unmarried man understand the cost of women’s clothing?
Thus, for the sake of saving money, they did not bother to fill up the closet with expensive clothes. Now that they were exposed, they regretted their actions to the point of wanting to vomit blood.
“You guys are too stingy. You only spent on a single piece of clothing, that too with a wrong size. Did you think that it would convince anyone?” Fang Xinxin had pulled out every single piece of old clothing from the closet. Next, she approached the shoe closet. “So many pairs of shoes! You guys said that you bought these for me, didn’t you?”
Fang Xinxin tossed them all on the floor and tried to put them on. “Can you see? Not a single one fits me. They are either too large or too small. You guys aren’t even aware of my shoe size. Where did you find the face to say that you bought these all for me?”
Following Fang Xinxin’s words, Fang Lilan saw that Bai Qinghao’s expression was becoming poorer by the second. She tried to stop her from continuing. “Xinxin, what are you trying to do?”
“Earlier, didn’t you guys mention that I lived expensively and lavishly?” Fang Xinxin laughed coldly. “Then let’s look at the truth.”
Long Shuhai was flustered. “Xinxin, you can’t do this. We’re a family…”
“Look at the way you treat me. Are you truly my family?” Fang Xinxin was unmoved.
She snatched the hair clip from Fang Lilan’s hand. “This is indeed my hairclip. Just because you found it on this bed, does that mean that I have been here? When you visited the storeroom to flip through my things, did the dampness and the stench frighten you?”
Fang Lilan’s expression was ugly at the moment.
She had been the one to retrieve that clip. The stench in the room had indeed been repulsive.
Bai Qinghao’s complexion was frigid by now. It was nearly sufficient to freeze them to death on the spot.
Fang Lilan and Long Shuhai felt certain that their deaths were imminent…
