1783 The Old Liang Family Residence (1)

Moreover, almost all the houses along this lane were empty, and this place didn’t get sunlight all year round. It was very quiet, while the occasional cries of birds gave the place a creepy feeling.

In contrast, it was lively outside the lane, which had many inhabitants as well as a market. It was like two different worlds, which was very strange.

“This is it, we’re really here, Yanru!” He Liuqing didn’t expect the old Liang family residence to be so remote. After sizing up the rundown Liang family residence, she started to look around. The surrounding houses were also all rundown, and all of them were empty. Apart from a few bird cries, there was no sound at all.
