Chapter 1281: Golden Treasure House Auction
Chapter 1281: Golden Treasure House Auction
...
Approximately thirty minutes later...
After the initial commotion caused by Braxul, the atmosphere of the Golden Treasure Hunt venue returned to its previous robust state.
As for Vexpela, she discussed a few small matters with Izroth before departing to finish handling the matters related to the upcoming auction.
Of course, the biggest change during this time was Izroth officially becoming the Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion. The current benefits were mostly limited to finances; however, Izroth’s sights was set on the bigger picture.
When Vexpela becomes the next Head of the Golden Dragon Association, he would not simply be the Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion. Instead, his status would be elevated to the Supreme Elder of the entire Golden Dragon Association!
That being said, Izroth understood that it would not be an easy path forward. If it were just a matter of brute force, Izroth would not have wasted no time making his move. But, according to Vexpela, there were certain rules that needed to be followed during the succession war. For one, the direct use of force against another Pavilion was not allowed.
In the end, the Golden Dragon Association was a merchant group, not a mercenary group. Power was important and necessary. But, as merchants, what mattered the most were connections, influence and wealth. Without those three things, one could not call themselves a merchant.
"Supreme Elder, the last of the Serva Stones you’ve purchased has been opened. We have catalogued every item. Under normal circumstances, we would also appraise them. However, since you said it was unnecessary, we have only written down a rough description of each item and its estimated rarity." Pearl said as she handed over a scroll to Izroth.
Izroth accepted the scroll and opened it to view its contents.
"You’ve done more than enough. I would like to have these items moved to a private room so that I can take my time analyzing them. Also, inform Serva Stone Master Gillian that I will see to it that his hard work does not go unrewarded." Izroth stated as he closed the scroll.
Now that he was a Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion, Izroth no longer had to pay any handling fees. This included Gillian’s 3% fee on items that successfully sold at the auction. But, Izroth was someone who believed that people should be paid their worth. Plus, it was never bad to make a connection to someone skilled at their craft like Gillian.
"Yes, I will have the items moved at once." Pearl said as she gave a respectful bow before she went to carry out Izroth’s request.
’There’s still some time before the auction begins. I’ll have to see if there’s anything worth keeping.’
...
A few moments later...
Izroth stood in a spacious storage room surrounded by the hundreds of items that came from the Serva Stones.
He took his time using Divine Appraisal on every item and separated the items into three categories.
The first category consisted of items he wanted to keep for personal use. The second was items he planned to use to trade directly with the Golden Treasure House. And, the third category were the items Izroth was going to place up for auction.
Out of the 468 items, Izroth was keeping twenty-six, trading 430 with the Golden Treasure House and placing the last twelve up for auction.
Out of the 430 items, the vast majority of them were rare treasures or trinkets that were hard or outright impossible to find in the Mortal Realm. Of course, Izroth did not plan to make a one for one trade with these items. He had already discussed it with Vexpela beforehand to trade a bulk of items for a treasure of a higher grade.
As for the twenty-six items Izroth chose to keep, the majority of them were either seeds or materials he had never seen before.
Izroth had some experience with cultivating seeds; however, there was someone much more suited for such a thing.
’I will entrust the seeds to Avia. Although their origins are unclear and there is not much to go on in regards to their growing conditions, if anyone can cultivate them successfully, it’s her.’
As a former member of the Fifth Great Clan that specializes in collecting and processing high quality herbs, Avia held extensive knowledge when it came to cultivating seeds. And, with the help of the Resplendent Landscape Pocket Dimension Stone, it would be like giving wings to a tiger.
"Since the auction is beginning soon, I should have these items officially catalogued and added to the auction list. As for the rest, I will handle the trade once the auction concludes." Izroth said to himself as he made his way toward the exit.
When Izroth left the room, there were two guards standing outside along with one attendant by the name of Griselle, who had been chose among the venue attendants to accompany Izroth.
Izroth handed over a scroll to Griselle and said, "These are the items I’ll be placing up for auction along with a detailed description of their function and a brief summary of their historical origins that I was able to uncover. Have this delivered to the Fourth Pavilion Lord. She will know how to handle the rest."
"Yes, Supreme Elder." Griselle responded politely as she accepted the scroll and immediately left to carry out Izroth’s instructions.
"You two, no one is allowed to enter this room without the permission of myself, the Fourth Pavilion Lord or Lead Attendant Pearl." Izroth instructed the guards.
"Understood, Supreme Elder!" The two guards stated in unison.
’This should be enough for now. Hopefully, I’m able to gain a few interesting things from this auction. Since it’s my first time attending an auction in the Mortal Realm, I hope I’m not disappointed.’
...
A few moments later...
Izroth sat comfortably in a private room that was roughly ten meters in diameter. This private room was one that was reserved for special guests and Diamond-Level VIPs and had been arranged beforehand by Vexpela.
’A space like this was hidden in the Golden Treasure House? It’s larger than I anticipated, just like the venue where the Golden Treasure Hunt took place. Is it a spatial magic formation?’
The private rooms oversaw the entire auction hall and there was special magic formations in place to hide the identity of those within the private rooms. Each participate of the auction was also provided with an optional mask that hid their identity. It was not as effective as the magic formations in place around the private rooms, but it was still enough to act as a small security measure.
That aside, there were not many people who decided to use these masks provided by the Golden Treasure House. Since it was a symbol of status that they were invited to such an auction, most people proudly showed themselves for all to see.
All of a sudden, the lights dimmed as a single spotlight shined down on the main stage.
There, a beautiful woman wearing a gorgeous dress with high heels stood at its center.
"Hello and welcome, esteemed guests of the Golden Treasure House. I will be your hostess for this auction, Lady Kesa." The beautiful woman spoke.
Although she was speaking without yelling or shouting, her alluring voice naturally carried throughout the entire auction hall.
"We have many wonderful items for you to choose from today from an extensive catalogue. As well as some surprise last additions that will not disappoint you. As always, it is our honor to receive the esteemed guests of the Golden Treasure House. I wish all the esteemed guests the best of luck and hope that you walk away with treasures beyond your wildest dreams. With that, I shall officially begin the Golden Treasure House Auction." Lady Kesa announced.
The lights turned back on as Lady Kesa walked over to a nearby podium covered by a large red cloth.
Woosh!
Lady Kesa pulled the red cloth off the podium and revealed a deep blue crystal that emitted a refreshing aura and scent that resembled the sea.
"The first item up for sale is called the Whale God’s Tears. It is an item that originates from the vast seas in the south of the Seven Kingdoms. One can use it as a decoration that create a refreshing atmosphere or as a material in crafting weapons. It is also a highly sought after ingredient for magic research. We shall start the bidding at 500 gold coins." Lady Kesa declared.
’Oh? It’s not a bad item to start things off. I’ve read about it before, but it’s the first time I’ve seen Whale God’s Tears. This size is also several times bigger than the average Whale God’s Tears.’
It did not take long for people to begin bidding as the price quickly soared.
"600 gold coins!"
"700 gold coins!"
"1,000 gold coins!"
In the blink of an eye, the price jumped from 500 gold coins to 2,600 gold coins.
"2,600 gold coins going once? Going twice? Sold!" Lady Kesa stated with a graceful smile.
’It’s only the first item yet it went for 2,600 gold coins. The average player wouldn’t be able to afford that kind of price even after saving up for an entire year. It’s no wonder these auctions are by invite only. If not, it would be flooded with players who aren’t able to buy anything.’
