Chapter 1413: A simple multi-use healing potion?

"Would you look at that! You actually spat out the pearls!" Alex exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she longingly admired the two pearls. Unfortunately, it was that bastard's turn. "Here," she said, shoving the pearls into Rey's hands. "It's your turn."

"Sweet!" Rey grinned wickedly as he accepted them.

"Are you guys here?" Mei Mei approached with a smile. "Look, sis—we found so many pearls! We're definitely going to win this event. Where are you stashing all your pearls?"

Alex gave a bitter smile. "No, you should use them."

"Huh?"

"Everyone here is an awakener. Although our ranks might differ, the key to winning is to use these pearls to make a breakthrough and become Transcendent. There's no point in hoarding them. Even if we end up only one point ahead of the other team, that's enough to secure victory. So don't hold back—consume everything."

Both Mei Mei and Shen Yue nodded seriously as they listened to Alex's explanation.

Rey scowled and tossed his head back. "What the hell, sis? You're not stealing their pearls, and you're giving such a neat explanation. How about you treat me nicely once in a while? Is that too much to ask?"

Alex playfully flicked his forehead, drawing a string of laughter from Shen Yue and Mei Mei.

"Stop it, idiot."

While the two siblings bickered as usual, Shen Yue looked at her pearls pensively. "Alex, you should take these. I am not… I will waste them. It's better for you to take them. You have a better chance of achieving a breakthrough."

Alex gazed at Shen Yue for a moment and then let out a sigh. "No. Keep them. Use them. Don't give up just yet. You have something in your bloodline or innate talent. Keep trying to bring it out. I will hunt for my own pearls. Now that we know killing someone makes them spit out their pearls, it's time I head out and nab a few more dead bodies for Liam." She winked and smiled cheekily.

Shen Yue still looked reluctant and eventually nodded. Mei Mei, on the other hand, had no qualms about accepting the pearls. It looked like she was already on the verge of a breakthrough, and she was confident in making progress with the pearls.

"Why don't you three go ahead and absorb your pearls?" Alex suggested. "I'll stand here and guard all of you."

The green liquid dissolved into his skin and into his body all on its own, making Liam indecisive for a second. Should he stop it, or should he let it continue?

Thankfully, there did not seem to be anything funny with the green liquid. He only felt a warm nourishing energy spread across his body or rather half his body as the liquid started to heal him.

But something was different. Losing a limb was nothing much in this new world. Healing magic allowed one to regrow it, but there were drawbacks. One had to train the muscles and the bones from scratch and cleanse that part of the body from the beginning.

Though some of the progress would be retained, a lot was lost, and it took time to bring the limb to a stage it had been before the injury. The bigger the loss, the greater the time it took to heal. Not to mention that Liam had lost half his body.

He had already mentally allocated a year to healing and returning to top condition, but now he was pleasantly surprised to find that something like that was absolutely unnecessary. The green liquid was doing a wonderfully amazing job all on its own.

Liam simply closed his eyes and rested while the green liquid slowly took care of the rest. Tilia let out a sigh of relief and decided to give him some privacy by stepping out. She ordered the other fairies to shut down the teleportation room temporarily and basically put a 'no disturb' sign on the door, leaving Liam to immerse in his thoughts.

Liam enjoyed the pleasant sensation of the healing process, but he would be lying if he said he was not disappointed. So much struggle and so much effort, just for a better healing potion that was used up without even giving him a chance to analyze. It felt anti-climactic.

"There has to be more to this liquid, right?" He let out a sigh and continued to allow the liquid to work its magic. A few hours later, just as quickly as the liquid had entered his body, the ball of green liquid shot out. It looked completely untouched and intact.

The liquid floated in front of Liam as if it was waiting for his command, and then he was able to send it back into the vial. "So a multi-use healing potion?" Liam scratched his chin. His instincts told him that it was more than that.

He stared at the floating vial, watching as the liquid swirled within, shifting slightly as if responding to his will. Hmmm. Narrowing his eyes, he once again pulled the liquid outside, making the blob float in front of him.

This time, he sent a small pulse of mana into it. The next instant, the green liquid jiggled before an explosive beam of mana shot out of it.

Boom! The room trembled as the explosive beam of mana slammed into the far wall, scorching a deep, crackling fissure into the reinforced stone.

Liam instantly had a feeling as to what this was. "No way…" He stared at the liquid with his mouth agape as he quickly took out a few herbs from his spatial artifact and concocted a potion right then and there.

At the last step just before the potion was fully formed, he tossed in the green liquid.

The moment the green liquid fused with the incomplete potion, the entire mixture reacted violently. A surge of energy erupted from the cauldron, sending ripples of mana cascading through the air.

The potion, which should have taken a few more refinements to stabilize, was instantly completed—no, not just completed, but perfected.

Liam's eyes widened as he watched the previously dull liquid brighten, turning a shimmering gold-green. The scent was richer, the consistency smoother, and the mana density was beyond anything he had ever created before.

A damn low tier mortal portion was just like that converted into a high-tier transcendent rank portion. Liam could tell that the process would have been even more refined if it were not for the limitations of the basic materials, the herbs.

This all but proved his theory. The thing in his hand was a catalyst, Liam realized, heart pounding. Not just a alchemical catalyst or a healing catalyst or an attack catalyst, it was a freaking universal enhancer!

Liam exhaled slowly, gripping the vial of green liquid tighter.

This… this was insane.

If this substance could amplify without limitations, then it was beyond anything he had ever encountered. It could turn trash into treasure, refine already powerful elixirs into legendary-tier concoctions, and potentially create something that defied the natural laws of potion-making.

No wonder the Elemental King had fought for it so fiercely. No wonder it was the reward in a system gold tier event.

This wasn't just some healing liquid—it was a god-tier catalyst, something so rare and valuable that entire empires would wage wars to claim even a single drop.
