Chapter 2523: Village Chief
One month passed.
Back in the unknown Village...
Bloody Chariot was basically confined to the small cottage he was in.
Every day, he was given three meals. All of them porridge, but it turned out to be decently nutritious and delicious as well.
Only Naka came to communicate with him and every time Bloody Chariot tried to see if he can get out of this place with just the information.
But Naka only ever said that he has to earn it.
He did try to get more information on what that ’earning’ is, but Naka then said that Bloody Chariot better focus on recover if he wants to earn it.
So, Bloody Chariot figured he would just do that.
However, his condition seemed a lot more troublesome than he initially thought.
After a couple of weeks he covered his divine senses a little bit and managed to get a good sense of his actual condition.
His energy network is friend, his body’s natural regeneration is abysmal. And most importantly, his core is damaged. The golden energy that he used corrupted his body as a whole. His cells are trying to get back being normal, which turned out to be a painful process.
Only the porridge he was having every day helped him.
Now, finally after a month, he could walk around without his body screaming in pain and most of the muscle deterioration has gone away.
But that was not the only thing Bloody Chariot experienced this one month. He experienced peace.
For this one month, he didn’t have to do anything at all. He didn’t have to worry about what Sam might do next. He didn’t have to worry about the monthly payment of coins that needs to be made to the hub.
He didn’t have to worry about reviving the academy.
Mostly because, there was nothing he could do, even if he worried. So, he had to take it easy and he felt lighter than ever before.
He understood just how much stress he was under and now realized how peaceful it would feel if he didn’t have anything to worry about.
He even started asking himself, why he was trying to so desperately.
The only reason he joined the Zeus academy as a Grand elder in the first place is because he knew of the cruelty of the gods and didn’t want his alumnus to suffer under it.
He was there to protect the academy under extreme conditions.
But this one month he continuously asked himself... What exactly was he even protecting there?
Year after year, students became more and more obnoxious. Year after year, the instructors and the elders became more corrupt.
Year after year, people who suffered increased, all because schools started catering to the rich and elite too much.
In fact, if he ignored the conflict between Zeus and Sam, the major problem was exactly that. They constantly pestered Sam just because he didn’t join Zeus academy after he humiliated its test.
They went after him, he retaliated, they went after him harder.
Its to the point, they even tried to assassinate him, disregarding all the rules.
Sure, Sam did his fair share of stuff to provoke the academy so much, but still, there was no honor in the fight they put.

If Sam heard Bloody Chariot’s thoughts, one must wonder what he would think.
Anyway, as Bloody Chariot was stewing in this self-reflection, Naka came with his usual porridge. He then checked Bloody Chariot’s pulse and said.
"Your muscles recovered mostly. They are still too tender and prone to serious damage, if you over exert yourself. But at least, you can come and talk to the chief. He is also back from his expedition recently."
...
A few minutes later.
Bloody Chariot finished his porridge and walked out of the cottage along with Naka. He was surprised by what he saw.
The village was in the woods, that much was within his expectations, but he realized, it wasn’t located in some clear patch in the middle of the woods.
Instead, the bamboo cottage, was surrounded with trees and only a small path was open. On his way, he saw that the other cottages were positioned similarly.
The gigantic trees basically gave them a natural cover.
As they walked through the path, they reached the central area of the village after a while.
Only this one looked like a patch. There is a large open ground, where people gathered with some shacks that looked like stalls of various kinds.
In the middle of it was another cottage.
Outside the cottage a man who seemed to be in his middle age sat down on a chair.
He practically wore the same outfit as Naka and Saha, so did the rest of the men in the village. He just looked a lot more aged and refined compared to the rest.
And surrounding the man were a bunch of kids, little kids who are yet to awaken. They are all laughing and talking to him.
"Old man, you said you would be bring a fang for me. Did you bring it or not?"
"Of course I did. I have a fang for every one of you..."
As he spoke, he took out teeth that definitely belonged to some wild anime and gave them to the kids.
"Those are some fine teeth. They would make some pretty good weapons." Bloody Chariot muttered. The kids just ignored the old man and walked away.
"That’s my village chief. His name Yudhi..."
He introduced and led Bloody Chariot to Yudhi.
"Brother, this is the outsider that I told you about. He recovered his physical activity a bit, so I figured it is a good time for him to talk to you."
Yudhi had a wide smile on his face as he shook Bloody Chariot’s hand.
"Oh my... nice to meet you. I hope you had a pleasant time recovering in our village. Naka and Saha told me that you had a rough time with the Sea Spirit.
But to think that you could actually even be safe after dealing with it... you must be one tough man."
