Chapter 2482 Payback
Chapter 2482 Payback
Couple of hours later.
The team stood in the formation, Sam designed for them.
Michael stood at the front with his hands extended. He conjured a large inscription array with his energy. Daksh put his hands on Michael's back. Khufu and Ayita stood on either side of Daksh with their hands on him.
Another inscription array appeared on Daksh's back.
Miko held her Katana with a huge grin on her race. She brushed her long black hair to the side and her katana glowed with a red light.
The force emitted by the sword made the surroundings collapse, bit by bit. It wasn't a chaotic destruction. Rather it was subtle, but still lethal. The ground around her, the trees, the grass, everything slowly collapsed to a granular level.
Even the air seemed to be cut into various subatomtic particles. She gently, gracefully raised the sword and performed a single vertical slash.
The inscription array on Daksh's back disappeared. But at the same time, the energy in the surroundings moved. It forcefully entered the bodies of Daksh, Khufu and Ayita.
More than Miko's attack, this energy movement, destroyed the surroundings more. The sudden change, broke down everything that had even a hint of spiritual energy. For miles around, nothing remained intact, except for Miko, Sam and the remaining team members.
Even the cliff they were standing on collapsed into a cloud of dirt.
The impact didn't stop there. The area of effect only increased. Spreading far and wide, even to the city they were watching.
The defensive formation that was pulling the energy in from the ground and the spiritual veins underneath it, collapsed. All the energy from the spiritual veins travelled to the team and entered their bodies.
The team was working with utmost focus they could possibly muster. The energy rushed into their bodies and they had to concentrate to make sure it travelled through their internal system properly.
They couldn't even keep their eyes open. Even breathing felt like a horrid chore.
While the Ares team and its lackeys in the city are in panic, the energy injected into the team was slowly passed to Michael's body.
The inscription array lit up and expanded. It morphed into the shape of a sword ray and like a gentle breeze it charged towards the city. The ripples it caused as it cut through, made the space crack and the air to collapse.
Everything that came into contact with it was destroyed. Nothing survived and it happened so gently.
Before the people recognized what's coming for them, the sword ray went into the city and by the time it disappeared, everything in the city disappeared along with it.
Nothing was left behind.
No people.
No animals.
No vegetation.
No sign of structure.
Everything disappeared as if it hadn't existed before.
The sword ray and the storm of particles stopped. The team was floating in the air and they all looked at the devastation they caused.
They could sense the surroundings with their divine senses heightened to the maximum. A large portion of this planet's spiritual energy reserves are dried up. Just one move, used up so much energy and destroyed everything in its path.
And none of them felt weak. At least, not physically. They did feel some mental strain, but nothing a good nap can't fix.
All of them turned to look at Sam. They wanted to barrage him with questions, but they couldn't. Their bodies were trembling and they were gulping nervously.
They felt fear when they looked at Sam, who just stood there in the air, nonchalantly, like all the destruction he caused just now has no impact on him.
Sam gave them a sweeping glance and said.
"Let's move. I am sure you can dish out a couple of more blows."
They were still frozen in shock.
"Come on, its not your first mass murder, is it?"
The team finally came back to their senses and followed Sam. That day, three more attacks of the same size graced the realm and the Ares team was destroyed. They lost of the profitable realms under their control.
This time, Sam didn't leave any message. Just the fact that the realm changed hands is enough. A wordless message spoke louder and it worked.
The other academies, even though anxious about the fourth grade realms, didn't bother with Sam and his team's expansion.
Particularly, since they were solely focused on small realms. Anyway, it is still the starting stages of the competition. They can't focus on points too much, they were in it for the long run.
They didn't care.
But of course, the gambler academy members had to care.
Dove in particular, after looking at the aftermath of the Ares team was shocked.
"See? I told you its not gonna end well." Ling Tian almost wanted to gloat. If not for the seriousness of the situation, he would have.
"He is capable of this? Then why the fuck is he still playing house in the academy? He should be transferred to the battlefields out there. Its unfair for the whole of the academy realm for him to be present."
"You think I don't know that? But he has to be here. Its better for everyone."
"So, he is really going to go after that elder?"
"No shit.
My problem is not with him killing the elder. It's Sam's current power level. If he can take the managers he has under his control to kill a bunch of elders, the other academies will not stop at anything to kill him.
He will attract the most heat than anyone ever attracted in the academy realm's history."
"So, you are worried he is going to die?"
"No, I am worried, in a fit of rage and desperation, he will destroy the academy realm. I like this place."
Dove was speechless.
In a way, Ling Tian is giving way too much hype for a second grader. But only after more days passed and when the second quarter was finished with the new points allocated did she understand how true Ling Tian's words were.
