Re-Birth of a Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2476 Died... Almost

Chapter 2476 Died... Almost

Sam arrived at the dorm and was ready to have a good night's sleep.

The past few days were a bit too exhaustive for him. But of course, he was barely getting started. He intended to leave a message to the remaining academies and it went great.

The Hephaestus and Athena academies should be wracking their brains to get any info on their people and it would soon leak from the Gambler academy side.

The message will be sent out when it was the right time.

After organizing his thoughts for the future, Sam laid on his bed and stretched lazily. He just closed his eyes for a moment and let his mind relax so that he could fall asleep.

Two minutes passed.

Sam felt his hair stand on its end. His whole body trembled.

He opened his eyes and stood up abruptly. A transference token appeared in his hand.

A million thoughts threatened up wreak havoc in his mind, but one of them suppressed and overpowered the rest.

'ESCAPE'

It was more of an internal scream than the thought.

He crushed the token, but he knew immediately that it wasn't enough.

Before the spatial energy could envelop him, his body was surrounded by a different energy.

A force so powerful, it dissipated the spatial energy and stopped Sam's transfer. He was pinned down to the ground. His ribs shattered and his lungs were on verge of collapse. Sam's legs broke, he even felt his skull crack a bit.

Blood seeped out of his, eyes, nose and ears.

'I'm gonna die'

The thought came to his mind.

He could feel it. He could see his own death envelop him and he was unwilling.

His body is out of commission, but his mind was defiant.

He couldn't help but curse himself for being so lax. He shouldn't have discounted the possibility of an elder level attack within the academy grounds. He just trusted this place too much and now it bit him in the ass.

Big time.

'I can't lose consciousness'

Sam tried to stimulate his spiritual energy, even though his meridian networks are damaged. He was hoping the pain would keep him awake. But the damage was too much. He knew he didn't have much time.

At that moment…

*BOOM*

The roof of the room broke open and Sam saw a familiar figure descending at a rapid pace.

Ling Tian landed right next to Sam. The force pressing on the latter dissipated into nothingness.

Sam's body levitated in the air and Ling Tian's energy entered it. He also made Sam drink some special tonic.

"I really didn't want to use it. But I got no other choice now."

The tonic started doing its job. At a pace visible to naked eye, the body mended together. But not to the complete extent.

The foreign divine energy still corrupted the whole body and Ling Tian tried to pry it out.

"I can't undo it in a short time, without harming his body."

He muttered to himself, frustrated over this.

Whoever the other party was, they were pretty thorough with their attack. They used their higher cultivation level to their advantage and rampaged in Sam's body, attacking him at a cellular level.

Which is ironic because, that's how Sam usually did things.

It wasn't originally lethal.

But the physical destruction was. Sam's physique was destroyed in more ways than one could imagine.

In a usual case like this, the corruption has to be cleared first before the body is mended. But the physical damage is too severe, even Ling Tian with his overpowered strength cannot, just get rid of the corruption in a couple of seconds.

Sam's body didn't have that much time, so he healed it.

But it was only brought out of the critical situation. For him to fully heal it, the corruption has to, but if he forcefully lifts the corruption, the body won't be able to handle it.

It has to be taken down gradually.

And Sam needs to be mentally stable.

Ling Tian knew, whoever did this, did it too deliberately, with a proper plan in place.

But this wasn't even what frustrated him the most, it was the aftermath of the situation.

He laid down a barrier and created a formation that would gradually let out the divine energy from Sam's body.

With a wave of his hand, the room was restored.

Ling Tian walked out of the room and saw all the elders available in the academy realm are gathered here.

"Grand elders, let's have a meeting. Dean Wharton is in a new realm.

We have to make a decision by ourselves."

Soon, Ling Tian was inside the room along with Sam and the Grand Elders.

"The academy was supposed to be guarded by our elders.

But he was attacked, the star student of our academy was attacked and almost died under our watch.

If this goes out, would any other student in the Gambler academy, dare to stand out?

And how did the elders couldn't stop the attack? They were either sleeping when someone came and attacked Sam, or it was an inside job.

Either way, it's a sign that we need to eliminate some of the bad apples among our elders.

But all of this, isn't the worst part.

I am worried about what will happen once he wakes up. From my estimation, he will gain consciousness in two days. You guys better figure this out by then.

You also take over the academy station at the portals. I will be tending to him."

After berating the grand elders, he wasn't even ready to hear their words. He dismissed them.

But once out, the grand elders discussed.

"Even if it was the inside job… what are we going to do? Are we really going to punish an elder for the sake of a second grader?

No matter how talented he is, his mind might not recover at all, from that attack. So, what's the point of worrying about him?

I think we should give the elder a punishment that will keep him out of spotlight for a while and use him as a bait for the next few years.

That would be enough. If the punishment is too harsh, the other elders will not find it acceptable.
