In that spot, only one beam is close to the formation while the rest are a bit far away. To test something out, he created a very small, but extremely refined energy gathering formation.
The energy gathering formation is one of the most basic and simplest formations that ever existed. Their purpose is extremely straightforward. They just need to gather energy in the surrounding atmosphere.
Unless the energy is way over the limit, they just absorb to the full extent and stay like a full charged battery. At the moment, from what Sam could see and observe, the energy beams are just condensed energy.
They are very similar to the beams that Sam can create for attacking others.
However, these are condensed with the help of a bunch of formations combined together. So, in a way they are just a dense flow of energy.
So, Sam is hoping that he could disturb that dense flow through the formation.
And it turned out his hunch is right. As soon as the formation was activated, the energy beam closest to the formation started gathering fluctuation. The width of the beam which was as thick as a thumb has reduced slightly. The reduction is not exactly significant, but it is something.
Sam waited as the formation charged up at a great speed. He realized that it might really overload because of the excess energy and might just explode, and who knows what kind of disaster it will trigger in this tunnel?
So, Sam hurriedly made the adjustments.
Metal pins flew from the storage and they started falling around the existing formation. Sam is adding an extra layer of energy gathering there, increasing its capacity. This added layer increased the energy absorption.
Now, Sam could see a significant reduction in the width of the energy beam.
Not just that, there is something else that was really interesting for Sam to see. The energy beam basically originated at the wall. And the formation he arranged is just a few inches away from him. So, when he initially placed the formation, the energy directly came from the base.
It just reduced the beam diameter a little bit.
But with the extra layer, he saw it. The beam at the base is actually of the same diameter, but a few inches away from the base, within the area of the influence of the gathering formation, the energy beam is being effected.
As the suction power increased, the energy beam almost split into two.
So, from the base, it came as a single energy beam, after a few inches, in split into two. One went in the original path and the other went towards the formation.
Sam immediately got another idea.
He added the third and fourth layers for the formation. Once he did that, the energy beam completely turned towards the energy gathering formation.
Sam figured out what is happening.
Basically the formations of the tunnel are condensing the energy and are also providing a guidance to the condensed energy forcefully. However, once the suction force of the formation increased to be more than the guiding force, the energy beam has turned to the formation.
As soon as it did, a lot more space has opened up in the tunnel.
Of course, it is still far away from Sam and the mesh that is covering him up, however, this approach is a sure shot way to get out of this.
Sam closed his eyes and the production unit inside the divine dimension is working at top speed, producing the metal pins. The metal pins came out of the divine dimension and flew to the now much more empty spot.
Energy gathering formation with five layers was immediately set up. One more beam of energy was diverted there. A new spot opened up.
For the next thirty minutes, Sam just stood there as he diverted more and more beams one by one. And he slowly created an empty space in front of him.
The space is big enough to draw enough formations and the mesh was finally broken. All the beams that are blocking his path of the front opened up and he can now walk forward.
He didn't waste time and walked forward.
There are only a couple of beams adjacent to the front wall. With free motion range that he has now, he was much faster with them and managed to have a clear path.
He placed his palm in the groove of the wall and felt it. Even without a prompt, energy was sucked out of his body through his palm into the groove and in turn into the door.
*ZAP*
An image popped up in his mind. He is now connected to what felt like a lock formation, within that wall or the door. All the nodes of that formation are just large accumulated masses of energy. Now he is connected to them.
He understood what he needs to do.
He just needs to move the nodes without destabilizing the formation or destroying it. He just needs to disturb the energy pattern stably so that the door will open up and the door will open
up.
Sam felt like the puzzle is a bit too easy. It didn't take long for him to figure out the nodes. However, as soon as he moved the first node, he felt it.
*HMMM*
The humming noise, that he just made himself familiar with in the past few minutes. He turned around with his eyes wide open like saucers.
The energy beams... they started reacting again. Their width increased all of a sudden as if they are trying to become the energy curtains. And he could sense it. The guiding force is changing their direction towards the door, in turn towards Sam.
The energy gather formations are still holding them for now, however with every passing second the energy output in the beams is increasing along with the guiding force.
"I don't know which sick guy designed this, but I will definitely have my share of fun with
him. Just what the hell was he thinking."
He muttered out loud and closed his eyes.
*RATATATATA*
The energy gathering formations are vibrating, their energy gathering capacity is reaching its
limit and they might just explode at any moment.
Sam tried to ignore the noise as well as the increasing spiritual energy levels in his
surroundings.
*BUZZZ*
Then he heard the buzzing sound reach its highest. He could sense the formation layers
cracking a bit.
*CLICK*
And then the puzzle was unlocked.
*SWOOSH*
As soon as the small crack opened in the door... he turned into a shadow to cross it. But he was blocked by the invisible force.
He braced for the explosion, however, it wasn't there. The door opened wide and he could see it. The energy output is decreasing at a rapid pace and it went back to the original level. Sam smiled at this and left the formations as they are. In fact, he even left another formation at the place he was initially standing before he walked past it.
The door locked behind him and he found himself in a large empty room. It is as large as a dozen basketball courts. There is nothing he could see there.
The walls are plain and clean. There are no doors, no grooves that he could see. No cracks, no patterns. The only thing that is eyecatching about the room are the large tiles of the floor. Each tile is a square with area of around a square meter. It is not exactly big, but it is not that small either. For some reason, Sam had a bad feeling to step on any other square other than the one he is standing in.
He wanted to explore the room while levitating. And he believed that with all the shit that he has seen in the previous rounds, it would be pure idiocy to not think that there might be something dangerous hidden underneath this.
He levitated in the air and moved a few feet forward.
*BAM*
An invisible force slammed into the ground. He fell flat face first. Sam didn't even have a chance to try and gain control before he fell face first into that cold stone floor. And to his bad luck, as he fell his hand fell a bit out of the square tile he was standing in.
