Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 869: The Watch Party

Chapter 869: The Watch Party

Hmm…

Rael wasn’t much of a looker when it came down to it, or that was what he believed initially.

But why exactly did this man just lead him into the pleasure district? More importantly, why exactly were all the women staring at him?

Huh.

Is this what they call fresh meat? Do I give myself up for the greater cause just so I could find out what that cloaked man is hiding? Rael thought in earnest.

Though…

[No.] Gaia’s cold voice rang out, followed by another voice belonging to Nyx.

[I’m sure you’re very well aware of what a TV is, Rael. We’re currently watching you from Reyna’s house. Aka, we see your POV at the moment, and that also means we know where you’re looking.]

[…Just because you glance toward the clouds doesn’t mean we didn’t see the earlier bits too.]

Ahem.

Well, that was a little awkward.

What if I went to take a piss? Have you ever thought about my feelings in all of this?

[Nope.]

“…”

Heartless.

Well, as messed up as those women were, Rael decided to just roll with it, and instead of succumbing to the cheap temptation, he followed the cloaked man into a deserted alley, and as expected, the cloaked man soon turned around.

Then, he removed his cloak, revealing an oddly old face. A gray beard, some remaining gray hair, and even a shabby moustache that seemed half burnt off. More importantly, there was a very large scar over his left eye, almost like some kind of dragon had been responsible for it.

But if that was the case, wouldn’t it just heal?

Eh…

Rael figured that scar might’ve been inflicted here, since even if he had a full mana body, he could bleed, and he could even rot here. It was trippy how this floor humanized him. Nonetheless, Rael felt like, at the end of the day, the man here wasn’t evil.

And he was even more certain when he recalled the name of the old man and realized that he was one of Arthur’s good comrades in the past.

“William, is it?” Rael called out, then crossed his arms. “Are you looking for someone here?”

William’s brows twitched.

“You know my name?”

“I know a lot more than your name,” Rael said.

“…”

William pulled out a thin rapier from his waist and then pointed it at Rael.

“Are you from the Light Faction?”

“Nope. I’m just Rael,” Rael replied. “I don’t want to make this any longer than it should be, so I’ll just make it brief.”

Rael glanced around, and after making sure no one was listening in on their conversation, he said:

“Arthur Pendragon is dead, and he was killed by these Light Faction people as well as a couple others whose names I don’t know. More importantly, I now have the memories of Arthur Pendragon.”

William stared at him for a moment, his expression masking his complete and utter shock.

On another note…

“Before you say anything, I’m not his replacement. All I want is to get some intel, and I’m sure I can give you more intel in return. For one, when exactly can you leave this shitty tower? He stopped at the 295th floor or something, so is there anything along the way that can allow us to leave?”

“…Hold on a second,” William raised his arm and then lowered his rapier. “You’re making this very hard to believe, you know?”

“Yeah, I don’t really care. Just answer my question, and ask whatever question of yours you want,” Rael said briefly.

Hearing that, William’s brows twitched once more. However, unlike before, there was no more malice in his gaze. Instead, there was curiosity.

“We have not found the exit to the tower, but we have found that there are only 500 floors in this whole tower. At the top is where you can either prestige or leave the tower… or so that’s what I’ve heard from one of my friends who had reached it. I haven’t climbed past floor 385, so I wouldn’t know.”

Aha.

Could that be where that knight actually lived? Maybe they have a whole ass ecosystem up on the 500th floor. For all he knew, that was where Lucien was already chilling.

Letting out a sigh, Rael knew that to burst through all the floors and go straight to the 500th floor would take weeks, and by default, decades would pass on the outside.

Frankly, Rael wasn’t in the mood to wait for Uriel to have tens of little Solennes running around, which was why he was dedicated to reaching that shit very quickly.

And one of those ideas was to have that knight from the 95th boss floor give him some secrets, since Rael was certain there definitely were some.

I don’t want longer than 25 years to pass on the outside… Yeah. That’s perfect. Anyways… This guy’s staring at me way too intensely… I don’t think he swings this way, so is it because of Arthur? Rael mused.

Then, he nodded at him.

“Anything you want to know before I leave?”

“Who exactly delivered the final blow to Arthur?” William asked.

Rael tilted his head slightly. “I have no idea, if I’m being honest. As it stands, there were so many swords stabbed through Arthur’s body that I’d be surprised if the whole Light Faction wasn’t responsible for all that shit. Anyhow… All I can tell you is that he’s 100% dead, and he’ll stay dead.”

William let out a distant chuckle. “I see… Well, I already knew he was dead after I found his corpse in the beginner safe zone. I just thought they had kidnapped him, which is why I’ve been searching. Thank you for confirming this… I’m afraid I’ll have to leave now, as I must climb back to the top floors and alert my party of the truth.”

Then, he nodded at Rael once again.

“If possible, I wish to meet you again.”

Rael waved at him. “See you soon then.”

With that, William skeptically walked past Rael and back to the center of the city, prepared to go back up. As for Rael, he just stayed there for a few moments before letting out a sigh.

Okay, spectators, get ready since we’re heading straight to the 95th boss room now, yeah?
