Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 849: Vampire Lady

Chapter 849: Vampire Lady

They went all around the floor, and honestly? Rael was surprised to see that there were at least several hundred people here. There weren’t any laws either, so everyone just chose a house and lived in it.

As for Rael and Nyx, they didn’t really know what to do, so they simply picked an ordinary home on the outskirts of the city, right next to the border, and settled in. Everything was already prepared, including two beds, a kitchen filled with fresh food, and even some kind of television.

Sure, it was pretty bland, but something this basic didn’t seem that bad.

Anyhow…

“So what now?” Rael mused. “Got anything you want to do?”

Nyx raised a brow.

“Relax, perhaps? Let’s stay here for a bit, and then go back to the center.”

She paused for a moment, then said:

“I’m interested in whether or not Renoir has made it here. Since there are a few people just standing there, they’ll obviously spot whoever enters and leaves. I’ll be able to roughly predict his speed if he shows up here.”

Hmm.

That didn’t seem like that bad of an idea. After all, Renoir was a good benchmark of how fast Lucien could move.

Since right now, Rael felt like Lucien was at least on the 100th floor. Since that was the case, Rael and Nyx could freely go up there.

But then again… Rael also wanted to meet Renoir at least once. After all, they had entered the tower together, so for them to be so separated… Well, Rael just felt like Renoir would do something very reckless in pursuit of his wife.

Or at least, that was how Rael saw this whole situation.

On the other hand, Nyx wasn’t thinking too deeply about it. Instead, she simply sat down on the bed, and after a few minutes, she drifted off to sleep. It was funny just how fast she could fall asleep, especially when she had fallen asleep in such an uncomfortable position.

But then again, she was the Goddess of Eternal Slumber.

Hmm. Welp, I guess I can leave her be. I kind of want to check out the city a little more.

With those thoughts, Rael left the home, and after making sure to lock it, he went straight to the center.

To his surprise, there was one inn in particular that was crowded by hundreds of people. And once Rael got close enough, he realized why.

Someone was singing from within, and their voice was very enchanting. Rather, it was so enchanting that Rael very quickly realized that whoever was singing was actually using some form of charm to mind control the people.

Honestly? That didn’t seem like that bad of an idea. If he could just piggyback off others while they cleared the floors, Rael felt like his life would become several times easier. But then again, he was just a lazy bum.

I should’ve brought more people here… Nyx is lazy, Renoir is obsessed, and the only other person I know in the tower is Lucien. Not exactly friends with him though,

Rael thought and walked past the inn. Eventually, he stumbled upon an old smithy, and from the small gap in the door, Rael realized that there was someone inside.

This definitely beat entering a crowded inn, and so Rael went into the smithy. Once he was inside, he was immediately met with a very potent stench of blood. For a moment, he thought that he had entered a butcher shop.

However, once he spotted a pale woman sitting behind the counter and chomping down on a human heart with her vampire-like teeth, Rael quickly realized where the stench was coming from.

“Bad time?” Rael asked.

The woman stared at him for a moment, then shrugged.

“If you’re here to order a weapon, you must pay with your body.”

Rael raised a brow.

“How much would a quickie get me?”

The moment she heard his reply, the heart accidentally slipped out of her hands and fell to the floor. On the other hand, she just sat there, her mouth open as she tried to process what he had just said.

“…Pardon?”

Rael rolled his eyes.

“I was just kidding, woman. I’m not that desperate. Anyways, got any information you want to sell? I can get you anything you want, for the right price, of course.”

Rael regretted winking at the end, since now she had a worse impression of him. But then again, when has Rael ever given a good first impression to a woman?

“I’ll pass… What kind of information do you want?”

“About this tower, I guess? I just got here today. How do we get out?” Rael asked plainly.

She stared at him for a moment, as if evaluating whether or not what he had just said was legit. After all, it was common knowledge that it was impossible to escape this place, and yet here he was, being the only optimist in the whole tower.

“You can’t escape.”

“Why not?”

“You just can’t,” she said sternly.

Though Rael didn’t really believe her.

“How many floors does this tower have? I heard there are some people chilling on the 100th floor. Does the tower have like 500 floors then? Maybe 1,000? There has to be some kind of wish we can make once we reach the top, isn’t there?”

“You really did arrive recently…” she mumbled, even more shocked than before. “What is your name?”

“Rael,” he replied.

She nodded.

“I’m Reyna. As you can see, I’m a vampire.”

Yeah.

He’d be blind if he acted surprised here.

“Nice to meet you, Reyna. Now then, do you think we can actually start speaking properly? Because as it stands, I’m on a bit of a timer. The more time I spend bullshitting around, the more time I’ll be away from my wives. In short, tell me everything you know, and I’ll grant you an infinite supply of hearts, or something.”

Once again, she couldn’t tell if he was serious or not.

But from the goofy, yet somewhat serious expression, Reyna grumbled and decided to at least hear him out.

“Ask away.”
