Chapter 816: Supreme Beast’s World?
Chapter 816: Supreme Beast’s World?
Nearly half an hour had passed since their discussion in that weird cave. By now, they had already made it out, and since Gaia knew the rough location of where the Supreme Beast was, Rael and Alune followed her.
Since Alune was a little bit of a lazy bum, she went ahead and sat on his shoulders.
Regardless of that, Rael expected the journey to be a little bit boring, but when Gaia mentioned this place taking up some of the Abyss’s properties, he didn’t think much of it.
However, not even a few minutes in, he saw terrain that had been altered considerably. Some of it floated a little bit off the ground, while some areas in particular seemed to be prone to the Law of Space.
Just passing by those areas at a high enough speed seemed to trigger a spatial crack, as well as a chain reaction that spread across the land, opening cracks one after the other.
And that was the case for the next couple of minutes too.
Yet now, as he was nearly half an hour in, Rael began seeing tears in space itself, and beyond them, there wasn’t the usual starry spatial void he was used to seeing. Instead, it led to a void that was devoid of all light or stars.
If Rael didn’t know any better, he’d assume that place was the Abyss Gaia had mentioned.
“Don’t step into any one of those, or it might be the last time we see you,” Gaia warned.
Rael pouted slightly.
“Don’t tempt me.”
“…”
“If you step in there of your own volition, I’m going to be very disappointed.”
At Gaia’s words, Rael’s pout only grew further.
Though, with how much distance they were crossing, after just a few more minutes, Rael, Gaia, and Alune were forced to start walking. Otherwise, they’d trigger the spatial cracks.
For a moment, he thought she didn’t know where she was going.
However, right as he was about to ask her about it, she suddenly stopped. Then, she pointed at the ground, and without a moment of hesitation, a large ravine suddenly formed, sucking in every single spatial crack in sight.
Not only that, she managed to get rid of the Abyss traces, and now the only thing left here was that giant ravine, as well as a seemingly ordinary rose in the middle of the desert.
When he focused on the rose, he felt a deep and very large space inside. Clearly, there was a whole ass dimension in there.
Gaia leaned down and ripped off one of the rose petals. Then, she tossed it in the air and infused a tiny bit of mana into it. In the next instant, an arch-like portal appeared.
“Is this really the place?” Rael asked.
Gaia nodded.
“It is, yes.”
Hmm…
Well damn.
In that case, Rael decided to be the first one to take a step inside. And of course, the moment he did, his body felt like it was being crushed for a moment, but that wasn’t because of the spatial distortion. Rather, it was because of the gravity itself.
It was overwhelming.
Very much so.
And clearly, Rael wasn’t the only one who felt that way, since although Gaia was unaffected, Alune wasn’t.
She slid off his shoulders and fell to the ground, landing right on her ass.
“Ouch…”
He expected her to be a little embarrassed, but instead, she just sat there for a moment and stood up, enduring the harsh gravity. Afterwards, she dusted herself off and nodded at him.
“I’m fine. We can keep moving.”
Sure.
Though, there wasn’t really anywhere to move.
As Rael glanced around, he just saw an infinite cosmos. In the very center of it, there were a few worlds, though. Clearly, from how much mana Rael felt from them, he knew that the Supreme Beast or whomever was actually there.
And so, with that in mind, Rael didn’t hesitate to speed up and land on one of the worlds. The world resembled Earth a lot. Actually… it was basically a 1:1 replica. The only difference was that it seemed a few hundred, or maybe even a thousand, years in the past.
There were a couple dozen castles, carriages, and armored knights moving around.
None of them had mana, but the sheer gravity that existed was enough to temper their bodies to extreme heights. Rael was sure that these knights were at least on the level of a Grade 6.
It was a cool world. Hell, he felt like every powerful being had a cool world. Even Gaia had one, and Rael might’ve tinkered with it a little too much, but that was besides the point.
Nonetheless…
“Is he in a castle?” Rael wondered out loud.
Gaia flew up beside him.
“The strongest being in this world does seem like it might be the Supreme Beast. Though, he doesn’t seem nearly as strong as what I remember. But yes, he appears to be in a castle, and it also appears like he has noticed us too.”
“Doesn’t seem like he’s trying to kick us out?” Rael mused.
Gaia shrugged.
“I’m stronger than him. He probably doesn’t believe he’s able to.”
Huh?
She’s stronger than him?
Just how weak was the Supreme Beast, then?
Rael was a little puzzled, but even so, he flew down to the ground and did some jogging. He passed by a few wandering knights, merchants, and even a village or two. He’d love to try out some food, but it seemed like that wasn’t this world’s strong suit.
After all, how does one fuck up a scrambled egg?
Anyhow…
As he stood in front of a large black castle, surrounded by a body of water and a giant bridge, Rael felt slightly anxious.
He was about to meet the being he had heard so much about, the same being who had once been the strongest.
Was that really the reason why he was nervous, though?
Rael let out a sigh and then cracked his neck.
“I guess let’s pay him a visit then, shall we?”
