Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 763: The Trials

Chapter 763: The Trials

“Heh.”

Rael held back a chuckle and glanced at all the people who agreed with him.

“Thanks for that. And as I’ve already said, I don’t have any stupid or improper ideas. All I wanted was the power up, and now that I have it, I don’t care anymore.”

Though…

“I would like it if you changed your minds about Astaroth and Victoria though. Neither they nor I want to wait a year before coming to a decision, so why don’t you make it easier for all of us and just get it over and done with?”

His question was primarily directed at Rain and Indra, since the two of them seemed to be the most intimidated by him.

And as expected, Indra was the first person to fold and show a reaction.

“In that case, I’m in favor of the two of them becoming Dragon Gods as well.”

The moment he uttered those words, Astaroth and Victoria glowed for a moment, their strength increasing rapidly.

And once it stopped, Astaroth simply stared at Rael and let out a chuckle.

“Well god damn. Who knew being a tyrant was so worthwhile, eh?”

Rael just shrugged.

“You can question my intelligence, but not my methods.”

“Pfft… Yeah. I can see that,” Astaroth replied with a thumbs up.

Just like that, the energy of the whole gathering shifted, and since no one was angry at one another, everyone just sat in silence before eventually beginning to talk amongst each other.

Rael didn’t bother himself with this kind of stuff any longer, since while he did piss off two Dragon Gods, he also gained the favor of three of them.

Or well… A bit more than that, since Astaroth and Victoria had also become Dragon Gods now.

Anyhow, Rael soon backed off, and Avarice stepped forward, sitting down at the table beside his wife and engaging in the chatter.

At times like these, Rael didn’t exactly feel the most welcome, but that was probably because of how he dealt with things.

Rather than loyalty, he was earning the trust of people through being a tyrant.

It worked… But for how long?

Shaking his head, Rael didn’t concern himself with that, and after getting far enough away, he checked the last special effect he had gotten.

<(NEW) (Special-Ultimate-Unique) The Dragon God’s Authority allows you to undergo a specialized trial once. Your Grade will be determined after the end of the trial.>

<Ding!>

<Do you wish to begin the trial? Yes / No>

“Nyx, are you coming with?” Rael asked.

She reappeared beside him and tilted her head.

“Do you want me to?”

“If your plan is to sleep while I’m gone, then yes. I want you to come along.”

She grumbled and zipped straight into his mind.

[Fine… I’ll come along then.]

Heh.

Fair enough.

“Hopefully this doesn’t take too long.”

With those words, Rael went ahead and pressed “Yes.”

In the next instant, the surroundings shifted, teleporting him in real time to what appeared to be some pitch black realm with only a single table in the very center.

On that table, there was a notebook, as well as a pen.

Before Rael could even approach, a few pop-ups appeared in front of him.

<Ding!>

<You have begun the first trial!>

<Trial of Enlightenment>

<Description: Read the tome atop the table and memorize every word. Put the learned content into practice.>

<Time Limit: 72 hours.>

72 hours to read a small fucking book?

Were these people joking?

Not sure whether or not this was actually a joke, Rael approached the table, flipped open the book, and began reading.

He flipped page after page, and within just a few minutes, Rael had memorized the book completely.

Not only that, upon memorizing it, another ability triggered.

<Ding!>

<Perfect Adaptability has been triggered!>

<You have learned: Passive Moon Gaze>

(NEW) Passive Moon Gaze: Your eyes are passively infused with the mana of the moon, slowing down any enemy you gaze at by 10%.

It was very straightforward, and while Rael would usually call it shit, 10% was pretty big, especially since he was fighting in the very big leagues now.

And so, the moment Rael learned that ability, a few more pop-ups appeared.

<Ding!>

<Trial of Enlightenment has been completed!>

<Grade: SSS+>

<Would you like to proceed to the next trial? Yes / No>

Wow…

If it was going to be this easy, Rael definitely wouldn’t have a problem reaching the next Tier of his Dragon Heart.

<Ding!>

<Proceeding to the next trial…>

The surroundings shifted once again, just this time, they hadn’t changed as much as before.

A small dragon egg appeared in front of him, followed by a couple pop-ups.

<Ding!>

<You have begun the second trial!>

<Trial of Worthiness>

<Description: A true Dragon God must be powerful, but also caring. Nurture the Dragon Egg until it has grown and hatched. The dragon produced must be at least Grade 3 upon birth.>

<Time Limit: 365 days.>

“Damn.”

That was definitely a step up from the last Trial.

Though, Rael didn’t really feel that intimidated, because of his Law of Time, as well as some other means, this would be a breeze.

So for starters, Rael reached into the Premium Shop and decided to buy some steroids.

Or rather, some growth potions, strengthening potions, and whatever else Rael could find.

In total, he aimed to spend a bit of cash, and so, for the next hour, he just went ahead and bought potion after potion, eventually spending close to 10,000 Premium Coins or 10 Trillion Trell.

But once he was done, he began pouring all of his mana and the potions on the egg one by one, until eventually, he had no potions left.

The egg began to glow in all sorts of weird colors, emitting strange mana.

When Rael felt that, he knew that it was about damn time he sped up the growth rate of the egg.

And obviously, he decided to do so by accelerating its time by several thousand fold.
