Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 602: Beef [ 1 / 2 ]

Chapter 602: Beef [ 1 / 2 ]

The moment he had that thought, a loud crack resounded through all of space.

Before he knew it, he felt the titan’s hand lowering, nearly making him lose consciousness from the sudden increase in pressure.

However, he managed to catch a glimpse of the titan’s face, which was covered in thin cracks. At a glance, it seemed like the construct was falling apart, but upon a closer look, Rael realized that space was cracking around it instead, thus damaging it.

The cracks expanded rapidly, and when they became big enough, black tentacles emerged, grasping the body of the titan and pulling it inward.

Bit by bit, the titan’s body started to vanish, and even the hand on which Rael and Anastasia stood began turning into particles.

Within less than 10 seconds, the cracks expanded to the size of a planet, and the tentacles that had fully absorbed the titan seemed like they were going to lash out at Rael and Anastasia.

But instead, the tentacles slowly withdrew into the cracks, and just like that, they quietly vanished, leaving both Rael and Anastasia aimlessly floating in space.

She had created a bubble around them, but her expression was anything but calm.

As for him, he was in the same boat.

That was definitely my construct. I’m the type to make them edgy and extremely overpowered… But since this happened when Anastasia was 19, then that means if this was me, then this happened way before the shattering.

Maybe even way further back than he had anticipated.

As for those tentacles, Rael could only assume they were the universal laws. Or maybe, he had come up with some edgy inventory system that stored his constructs like that, but there was a higher chance that he might be wrong.

Still, upon seeing his construct in action, Rael was left both satisfied and conflicted.

Satisfied, because he created something so overpowered.

Conflicted, because he might have been responsible for Anastasia’s friends’ deaths.

“…”

Just what did I do in the past? Rael wondered, lowering his head. How am I supposed to get her on my side now? If she knows that I was the one who killed her friends, then I’ll be hunted by her.

And right as that thought finished, Rael let out a sigh.

So that’s why Lucien didn’t protect her mind. That makes a lot more sense now…

“How do you feel?” Rael asked.

After a brief pause, she replied, “It feels strange. I know for a fact I had seen that titan before, but where?”

Of course she fucking did.

“I see…” Rael avoided the topic. “Can we get out now?”

“I’d like to remain here for a little while longer,” Anastasia said, glancing at the stars, then back at him. “What do you think about what you’ve just seen?”

“You’re asking for my opinion?” Rael raised a brow. “Why? Do you think I’d know more about this than you do?”

A faint chuckle escaped her lips.

“Had you not known a thing, you wouldn’t have appeared so shocked a moment ago.”

That was true, and he was the one at fault for falling into this rabbit hole. However, how could he have known that titan was actually a construct that most likely belonged to him in the past?

“Well, I just think its eyes seemed a little hollow,” Rael bullshitted, and from her expression, it was clear she didn’t believe him.

A warm smile appeared on Anastasia’s face.

But her next words were anything but warm.

“If you don’t tell me now, then I’ll force you to tell me. I have all the time in the world, and I’m not a stranger to torture. I can make you sing like a hummingbird if I so much as wished for it.”

Haha. Well, there goes the nice bonding we had for a solid few minutes, Rael thought, nodding to himself.

“I’m sorry, but I’m not telling you anything. When it comes down to it, whatever happens here is likely being transmitted to Lucien. If whatever I tell you reaches him, then you’ll likely never get the true answers you’re looking for.” Rael went for round two in his bullshittery.

This time, it seemed to be more effective, as instead of attacking him, she actually backed down.

However, it only appeared that way because she lowered her gaze, but then she threw a fist his way. It was covered in golden mana, and it looked like it would kill him if it even so much as grazed him.

But since she was putting the offer on the platter like that, Rael would indulge.

He thrust his head forward, trying to make her hit him.

To his surprise, the punch soon turned into a grapple as she went behind him and started choking him.

“Did you think I would let you out that easily?” she said.

Hearing that, Rael’s expression darkened as he immediately turned to his trusty system.

<Would you like to leave the Dream Realm? Yes / No>

<Yes has been selected!>

<You are not being transported out of the Dream Realm!>

“…?”

Not?

Before he could even begin to curse out the system, his vision darkened as he finally passed out.

When he reopened his eyes, he found himself sitting in the middle of a giant crater. The crater was, of course, the center of the city. There were a few mangled corpses around him, as well as a couple of familiar weapons.

A bow, a staff, and a sword.

“You’re finally awake.” Anastasia appeared in front of him and leaned into his ear. “The longer you go without telling me what you know, the longer I will torture you.”

Rael tried to move, but he realized his hands had been bound together. Furthermore, since this body didn’t have any mana, he couldn’t even begin to counter whatever she was doing to him.

Since he couldn’t leave this place willingly either, he was in a teeny tiny bind.

But before she started to torture him, he could at the very least try convincing her one last time.
