Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 536: Sunken Temple?

Chapter 536: Sunken Temple?

“A date?”

“We haven’t been on a date in a while.” Rael smiled. “Was just thinking we could walk around, maybe check some stuff out together. Though, it’s alright if you don’t want to.”

“Of course I want to!” Zafira rose from her seat, excited. “I prepared a few places I’d like us to visit.”

“You did?” Rael raised a brow as a slight, teasing smile appeared on his face. “Were you talking about this world?”

Zafira froze for a moment, confused. “Um… I overturned Aztera in a day. I thought we could go have a look around.”

“We still can,” Rael replied softly. “I was just throwing it out there. We can visit another world some other time. Or maybe tomorrow. Who knows?”

Zafira chuckled, then lowered her head slightly. “The Evangelists got the last artifact. I think they’re going to open the portal soon.”

“Hmm… It doesn’t matter, there’s nothing there,” Rael said. “Last I remember, the Procrastinating Wizard said it was just some higher world. They’ll probably wipe out the Evangelists or whatnot. On that note, how are the Radiant Dawn people looking? Are they still active?”

“Linlin isn’t.” Zafira shook her head. “She’s, uh… mingling with travelers a lot lately.”

The players? Rael raised a brow. “Why?”

“She’s curious, I guess,” Zafira replied. “We talk every now and again, but she just has her own group now. Your dragon, Mercurius, is also in her party, and so is the Medusa you had tossed at her. I believe she and the others are in good hands, including Evelyn, who vanished off the grid a month ago.”

Meeting his gaze, she continued:

“She decided to focus on her swordsmanship path. She told me she’ll be back whenever she’s strong enough, whatever that means.”

“Hmm… What about Aria?” Rael asked.

Zafira smirked. “She’s in charge of Celestara and Yrgon while I’m away. I decided to trust her. She reached Grade 1, but she wasn’t too keen on fighting, so she settled for politics instead. I’m pretty sure she’s in Yrgon right now. We have a good relationship, and it’s only a matter of time until everything is conquered.”

“About that…” Rael scratched his cheek. “Mind checking your management interface for me?”

Puzzled, Zafira did just that. She navigated to it, and after opening it, she shot him a confused look.

“Yes?”

“I used a perk that allowed me to conquer this entire world. I’m sorry if—”

“It still says I’m the ruler of Celestara, Aztera, and a few cities of the Holy Kingdom,” Zafira interjected, understanding what he was getting at. “I think your skill doesn’t affect existing rulers. The money is the same too.”

Another infinite money glitch… Rael gulped.

“Enough of the money, women, and politics talk, though,” Zafira said sternly. “I’d like if we could head on over to Aztera. I have a little surprise for you.”

Rael smiled and then nodded. Of course, there was also one more thing he decided to do. It was not because he was being cautious, but rather, it was simply because he was petty.

Heh… Rael snickered. It should be around 25 million Trell. This doesn’t even put a dent in my 2.6 trillion Trell. But oh well… Yoink.

He bought the axe, and in the next instant, a shabby axe with a broken handle appeared in his grasp. It glowed brightly, and it seemed to react to his mana.

However, for such a flashy weapon, he didn’t really have any use for it aside from using it to power some kind of light bulb.

Therefore, under Zafira’s confused gaze, he tossed it inside his inventory.

“What was that about?” Zafira asked. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵•𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑒•𝙣𝙚𝙩

“Nothing too serious. Just decided to play a little prank on the Evangelists,” Rael replied with a chuckle. “Let’s just say they might not be able to open that portal after all.”

“Pfft… I had a feeling you were going to do that. Though it’s good, I hate when these travelers get some world quests and start storming my cities, asking for loot and all sorts of junk.”

With those words, she stepped outside of the boutique. The night sky was surprisingly bright, as the star above, which was their home, shone brightly down onto Zafira.

It illuminated her beauty, as well as the mischievous smirk that formed after exiting the boutique.

“Follow me. Oh, and make sure to keep up. After all this training, I became pretty fast.” Zafira puffed out her chest, and after giving him a peace sign, she vanished into thin air.

Of course, that was only the case in the future. The Primordial Sight showed him she would disappear, and it also showed him exactly where she would appear.

In the same subgenre of his pettiness was also a side that didn’t want to lose.

So, right as Zafira performed the same gestures as five seconds into the future, Rael vanished just a moment before her.

Even with his speed greatly limited, it was in the range of 400,000,000% of the average human speed, which was still in the range of 5.56% of the speed of light.

I just wish I could use my Dragon Transformation whenever I wanted. I wouldn’t have to deal with this shit… Rael thought, recalling something.

“…”

I’ll get a big paycheck soon, so I’m definitely using it to upgrade everything I have.

“Huh? You’re here already?” Zafira called out from the side, surprised. “I thought I was going to lead you, but you led me instead. Was it that future sight?”

Rael nodded with a smile and then glanced around.

As it so happened, Zafira brought him to the Sunken Temple. Like all of Aztera, it was run by electricity that was produced by that barbarian axe he had bought a few moments prior.

But now, instead of there being nothing but sand with a secret corridor, Rael spotted giant towers everywhere.

They were like beacons; each of their colors was different. It was almost like whoever made these beacons only did so to prove that they could.

And Rael only knew of three people who could do something like this, those people being none other than the three busty elves he had entrusted a few mana stones to.

Sophia, Luna, and Oriana.

“This place is way different than last time,” Zafira said. “After the master engineers got their hands on a mana stone, they managed to reproduce it and increase its output.”

She waved her hand around with a smile. “The Sunken Temple was a city of crafters, people who, despite their many talents, decided to stay hidden. However, that’s all in the past now.”

As she finished her words, a see-through portal appeared in front of him as a flying carriage zipped past him.

If he wasn’t surprised before, he definitely was now. Especially when he saw what the Sunken Temple looked like on the other side of the portal.

It was like a dystopian utopia, much more advanced than his old world, and most definitely more advanced than whatever shithole the Dralgur Continent was.

It was a literal pocket dimension, a giant night city that seemed to stretch on forever, and in the heart of it, a large white mana core that seemed to be powering the entire Sunken Temple, if it could even be called that at this point.

His interest was most definitely piqued, and so, before the portal closed, Rael grabbed Zafira’s hand and stepped through.
